    Sam had tried really quite hard to ignore the feeling of teeth sinking into his flesh in the brief moments before he’d been able to throw the Rugaru off of him. In the adrenaline of the moment and the heat of the fire, it had been really quite easy to ignore and brush off as a minor injury, quite common in their line of work.

    It was only sitting in the Impala, head leaning against the window and struggling to breathe through the waves of dizziness that were only increasing in intensity, thigh sticky from blood that he was fairly certain was still fresh, and he was beginning to question if his logic had been wrong.
