Summary
It’s the spring of ‘97 when Michael Robinavitch is dragged into a gay bar for the very first time.
When he meets Jack Abbot there, the two of them are on the cusp of radically different futures: Robby is about to begin his residency, and Jack is leaving for the army. They know better than to get attached - know the timing is wrong, the goodbye inevitable - but something tender takes root anyway. Through every deployment, Jack thinks of Robby more than he ought to; through every failed relationship, Robby wonders about what might've been.
Years later, when their paths cross again at PTMC, the past resurfaces — and though they’re older, more jaded, and scarred in different ways, they find themselves pulled towards everything they left unfinished.

Summary
He mutters, "I'm not letting go until you tell me what you're going to do when you've crossed state lines."
"I told you," Robby huffs, "Beer. Hot apple cider. Maybe a chicken pot pie on the porch of some good Samaritan who takes pity on me."
"Yeah? Chicken pot pie?" Jack hums, raising his eyebrows, receiving an affirming nod from the other. "Gonna go on a stereotypical-ass spirit journey? That's what you're going to do, Michael? That's the reason you hugged me like that? Like you were savoring it?"

And Michael Robinavitch would have gotten away with it, too, if it weren't for Jack Abbot.

Summary
The idea of bossing you around is almost tempting enough to lure me from the beach.
The email was from Brian Price, who'd done his residency at PTMC before covid, then sailed straight into a cushy gig at Cedars thanks to family connections and Adamson's recommendation. Robby had quietly hated him, happy to see him go.
Brian's email included a forwarded job listing, seeking a temporary Chief of Emergency Medicine for PTMC, to start July 4th, Robby's last day before his sabbatical. Jack had been expecting Gloria to ask him to step up.
He'd heard nothing from her. And now this, as good as announcing the news: they were bringing in an external hire.

Summary
It’s like this every time. She can remember thinking, four years ago now, that she didn’t know if it hurt more being with him, or without him. And every time the months and the distance stretches out a little further between them, she convinces herself that they’re definitely better apart. That a scarred heart is better than an open wound with him lodged inside it.
And then they see each other again, and she’s pitched right back into that uncertainty. Three and a half years should be enough to get over a boy, shouldn’t it?
A story of how Annabeth and Percy fell apart, and what it took to piece them back together.
