She pulls out a little tin from one of her desk drawers.
“Biscuit?” she offers, as if he hasn’t just insulted her kindness and disrespected her authority.
He shakes his head. Never trust someone who has no reason to trust you.
“You’ve been shivering.” She pops a cookie into her own mouth, chewing slowly, her brows coming to meet in the middle of her forehead as her eyes lock once more with his. The fact that he’s still standing and she must look up at him now doesn’t seem to bother her much.
    “It’s an old castle. Drafty.”
McGonagall hums, but it’s unsure. She doesn’t have too much time to think on it, though.
Another spasm suddenly rocks Sirius’ core like a jolt of lightning, knocking him to his knees on the floor of her office.

    Summary

Finally, in a clearing of the crowd, Sirius found a little boy. He was dressed head-to-toe in a bear costume, with little round ears on top. Sirius's heart clenched. The kid had tears rolling down his cheeks and was completely alone.

'DAAAAAD,' he wailed again. Sirius cast a few looks around. Surely, one of these people would comfort the boy and help him? They were all parents for god sake! An adult should talk to him and help him find-oh. Sirius was an adult. He hesitantly made his way toward the boy, hoping he wouldn't frighten him. 'DAAAA-'

'Hey kid,' he crouched down to his level, and the boy went quiet looking at him. 'are you lost?'

'I'm l-lost,' his voice broke and a tear fell from his eye.

'Hey, it's okay, we'll find your dad, alright,' Sirius tried to sound calming and comforting, but the kid started sobbing and suddenly he felt way out of his depth. 'Uh- Would you like some ice cream?' The kid immediately quieted down, eyes focusing on the presented gift.

'Y-yes, please,' he took it and held it with both hands. 'Thank you.'

    Summary

Despite everyone's expectations, they'd made it out of Hawkins. The Party graduated four years prior, and were now scattered across the country in various colleges. Jonathan moved with Argyle back to California, and Nancy and Robin moved to New York to study journalism and music, respectively. Facing his death, Steve realized his feelings for Eddie, and they got together rather quickly. Eddie, to no one's surprise, quickly rose to fame after beating the murder allegations, and toured with his band. After Steve graduated from community college with a business degree, he became their groupie.

    The proposal in the 2010s.

These are the three decades it took for them to get married.

    Summary

Book recommendations are Steve's least favorite part of the job, until he starts getting recommendations back from a mysterious guest. Their notes back and forth quickly become Steve's favorite part of the month, if only he could meet the guy he kept confiding in.

    Steve,

Gonna give you the benefit of the doubt on this one since normally you don’t pick the worst books known to man. But here I am: offended on behalf of Iron Maiden that they were mentioned, never able to listen to The Trooper again. I've never read a book that actually dripped testosterone but it did, dripped all over everything. The testosterone stained my mattress, Steve and that's on you. Zombies are supposed to be a racial allegory or something, a representation of fear of what's different to you. The plague thing, ugh. You must get people telling you to read shit all the time, but if you're going to insist on a zombie plague you should at least go with Manhunt -- Gretchen Felker-Martin. Diversify it a little bit, Stevie.
