Summary
Venator Phantasmus fucking loves crêpes. They're his comfort food, his favorite snack, his choice for last meal if he ever got sentenced to death for playing Path of Titans. He is a regular at his local mom 'n' pop breakfast restaurant. His wallet, empty from his latest Funko Pop haul, is drier than his sex life. His stomach grumbles. He really needs food. He needs it now. The only thing keeping him from starvation is a gift card his friend Sierra surprised him with last Christmas. Desperate to fill his stomach, he pulls into the Waffle House parking lot, craving his favorite breakfast meal. The grease-laced air fills his lungs, only driving his need for food further. Then he sees him.
Kyle Garrett.
He may just be a Waffle House worker, but something about him makes Ven's body warmer. Hotter. He isn't just craving breakfast anymore.
Venator went to Waffle House wanting crêpes. He left with a newfound appetite.
He didn't eat breakfast that morning, but someone else got fed.

Summary
Gar is like a blessing. He doesn’t seem to notice the shiny parts of Vic, not until it really counts—when there’s wires sticking out, something shoved through Vic like it was nothing, when he’s in danger. And even then, he treats them like any other part of the body, like a wound is a wound and it doesn’t matter that it’s not flesh, but technology.
When he asks, Gar tells him about Cliff Steele, and shrugs like it’s nothing. “I’m just used to robot guys, I guess,” he says, flippant like he’s not the first person Vic has met who didn’t recoil at the sight of him.
Vic manages a laugh, his eye—his real eye, his human eye—stinging.
