Summary
They stay that way for a long time, Catra’s face tucked into Adora’s shoulder, Adora gently cradling Catra’s head. Adora is careful not to hug Catra too hard or make her feel restrained, anticipating the moment that Catra will start to pull away — but Catra doesn’t. She hangs on so tightly it hurts, her claws digging through Adora’s jacket and into her back, latching into her like she did when she was a kitten and didn’t know how much her claws could hurt. Adora tries not to wince, tries not to move a single muscle, worried that if she does the spell will break and Catra will struggle away, appalled at having shown weakness.
But Catra doesn’t let go. And so neither does Adora.

It wasn’t fear. Kris had never been afraid of storms, or rain; in fact, they’d always been a pretty quiet kid, all things considered. It wasn’t the rain or thunder that rolled a haze over their mind, a darkness settling coldly at the edges, sharp and unwelcome. No, it was the feelings that came with the storms; the reminders, the memories, the echoes of pain that weighed down their shoulders and landed like bruises upon their mind.
They couldn’t even remember, and that was the worst part. It was just a haze of emotions, familiar yet so distant. Something that happened to them, but didn’t; something they couldn’t grasp, weren’t able to conceptualize. It happened, but it wasn’t there, but they felt it.

Summary
Mira and Zoey stared at her, unmoving, their weapons casting blue light across their faces. Rumi knew this was the moment she needed to run. While she didn’t want to believe either of them would attack her, if it came down to it, she wouldn’t be able to lift a finger against the two people she loved most in the world.
But what was the point? If she ran, where would she go? The whole world had been watching that stage. The person she’d been—both as Rumi, leader of HUNTR/X and Rumi, leader of the Hunters—was gone. Only the demon was left.
All at once, the crushing weight of exhaustion pressed down on her. She gasped out a sob as she fell to her knees, eyes fixed on the purple patterns winding their way around her arms and legs. Collapsing felt… right. Like this was where they had been heading all along.
She wasn’t going to run. She was too tired for that. It was time to meet fate head on.
“Do it,” she told them, her voice thrumming with that horrible, demonic timbre. “Kill me.”

When Mikey bellows, “LEO!” it’s in that particular baby brother voice that gets every older sibling in a mile radius moving with gusto. If Donnie wasn’t at April’s for the night he would have removed the kitchen wall to get there two seconds faster.
As it is, Leo tumbles into the room wild-eyed, probably wondering what the hell could have happened in the three minutes between Mikey asking him to pause the movie and this targeted attack on every protective instinct in Leo’s body.
It takes him a second to clock that Mikey is present and correct and just sort of dangling in Raph’s hands still. Then he leans against the doorframe, playing it cool. What a nerd.
