“If you tread the lines of time, none will remember you as you are.” Ichigo watches as the image of Byakuya flickers before him as all others fade away slowly one by one. “Bonds once forged will perhaps remain dependent on if you existed yet or not, but Kurosaki Ichigo will die. Ichigo studied the beautiful noble face of the man flickering before him, copying every part of him to memory. His high imperial cheekbones and steely eyes. The chin-length black hair fluttering loosely about his face. He often lamented the loss of Byakuya’s longer silken tresses after the Winter War but he also adored the shorter ones and the way they slipped through his fingers. Could he give up everything in order to see to it that the future was changed? Would he, in a new timeline, still meet his mate and fall in love with him? Would it matter so long as his mate lived to see another day? A burning fire lights up in his chest as he turns away from the image of the raven-haired Shinigami Captain to look upon the Soul King.

Kurosaki Ichigo disappears during his attempted execution by the Central 46 after Yhwach's defeat. 100 years in the past, Shiba Ichigo appears and he has secrets. Secrets he is trying to keep close to his chest and a past he refuses to tell anyone about. All he has is scars and an attitude that is trying to keep people at arm's length. Shiba Kaien has no idea what to do with his baby cousin who refuses to be a part of their family, no matter how hard Kaien tries.

Shinji snorts loudly. "Look who's talkin'. Now, come on. Stop stallin' and tell me what's botherin' ya."
What's bothering him? Kyouraku Shunsui is bothering him. And oh god, there's no way he can say that aloud. Literally no way.
