Regina never would have thought this would be reality a year ago when she abandoned Robin at the town line. She had given up all hope of a happy future and was willing to wallow in self-pity for the rest of her life. That is, until Emma Swan, the most infuriating blonde she knows, sat down and offered her a drink. That night shifted everything she’s ever known, in so many ways she will never be able to count.
Regina’s smile doesn’t leave her face as baby Neal laughs with Henry and kicks his feet. They all fall into a comfortable conversation as they talk about their week. She puts her hand over Emma’s knee and has never felt more at home.

“I thought I messed up somewhere,” Regina whispers into the quiet hush of the bedroom. Though her eyes are closed, her face peaceful, there is a thread of tears in her voice. “I thought I changed your path to me.”
Emma shakes her head and closes her eyes, resting a cheek against the curve of Regina’s forehead.
“I was always coming here.” She whispers, smiling.
