Summary
They stay that way for a long time, Catra’s face tucked into Adora’s shoulder, Adora gently cradling Catra’s head. Adora is careful not to hug Catra too hard or make her feel restrained, anticipating the moment that Catra will start to pull away — but Catra doesn’t. She hangs on so tightly it hurts, her claws digging through Adora’s jacket and into her back, latching into her like she did when she was a kitten and didn’t know how much her claws could hurt. Adora tries not to wince, tries not to move a single muscle, worried that if she does the spell will break and Catra will struggle away, appalled at having shown weakness.
But Catra doesn’t let go. And so neither does Adora.

“Number one rule of working here, don’t let Tim scare you,” James says in an undertone.
Roy genuinely can’t tell if he’s joking, but before he can ask, James ushers him behind the bar and vanishes without a trace.
Roy attempts a charming grin and extends a hand. “Roy Harper. Nice to meet you.”
Tim tosses his head back in a sharp, practiced motion to flick his red-streaked bangs out of his eyes, and then he gives Roy one of the most disparaging looks he’s ever had the displeasure of receiving. It conjures images of shark fins cutting through the water and sends a chill down his spine.
“Jesus Christ,” Roy says, half-impressed.
“Ooh, you must be the fresh meat,” says a perky voice, as a girl with a long, bouncy purple ponytail emerges from the back with a box of to-go cups. “Hi! I’m Kate, nice to meet you.”
Before they can get any further, a customer walks through the door. Tim immediately shapeshifts, putting on a bright, happy smile that would even fool Roy if he didn’t look too closely.
“Welcome to the Hawk’s Nest,” he says warmly. “What can I get for you?”

Summary
Book 5 in the Breakaway series featuring:
Dev— a blueliner rookie with a traumatic past living with Alex and Eli for his first season on the Hounds’ roster, and Theo—Alex’s half-brother who shows up seeking sanctuary after being inhospitably booted from his college/trust fund when his parents find out he’s trans.
After an antagonistic introduction, Theo and Dev realize they may have more in common than they initially thought (and maybe they should kiss about it??), but they’ll have to engage in a “friends with benefits” agreement full of mutual pining for a good long while before admitting anything like feelings—all while dealing with hockey-related subterfuge, blackmail, and parents who probably shouldn’t be.

Summary
It’s impossible not to spot him in a crowd.
And Great isn’t just saying that because he’s tall. Broad too.
Rather, it’s the aura he radiates. The energy of displeasure. Pity, almost. This man surveys the dancefloor like a soldier staring down no man's land, and Great is intrigued by the grim and grumpy nature of his furrowed brow and downturned mouth.
