Summary
Tobias is a prince, a king-to-be, living in the castle where he spends all his time with his best friend Everett - the son of one of the servants. They've been friends all their lives, but as they grow older something more than friendship buds between them. Tobias has a duty, however, and the crown tears them apart when he's married off to someone else and sends Everett away for the sake of his responsibility. The weight of his grief changes him, both inside and out, and as he lets it consume him he becomes something inhuman. Sent away from the castle, he finds solitude deep in the wilderness, alone. He's surprised when he finds Everett living nearby, though he hides his identity from him, hoping for the chance just to be close to him. Too ashamed of his monstrous form to tell him who he is, the two forge a friendship that has the chance to turn to more if only Tobias can see past his own disfigurement.

Ryker hates Sham.
His insufferable, unfaltering bright personality laced with constant optimism. Absolutely nauseating. Anyone's teeth would start rotting just by getting a glimpse of him.
