The evening is chilly, but the fire's warmth is wrapped like a blanket around him. They haven't been talking, just sitting there enjoying the night, so Kevin is surprised when Andrew says, "It's almost midnight."

The dress Gerard is wearing is black satin, falling just above his knees, and hugging his hips and waist and chest. The neckline of the dress is a simple scoop that dips just below his collarbones, although it plunges lower in the back, exposing an expanse of pale skin that Ray desperately wants to scrape his fingernails over. And Gerard is wearing tights, too, sheer black ones that cling to the muscles in his legs.
"Fuck, Gee," Ray breathes.

Gerard looks up at him with those damn Bambi eyes of hers and flutters her eyelashes, and he wonders if she wore the cheerleader dress on purpose, if she wanted it to be like this, if she knew—or suspected—that she'd get off on this. That he would.
"Ray," she says, snapping him back to the moment, and there's a bit of a pleading edge to her voice. This is the point of no return: if he says no right now, she will accept it and won't push. But he doesn't, and when she reaches for him, he goes, like a puppet.
