Summary
She’s about halfway down the aisle when someone catches her gaze out of the corner of her eye. Something in her tells her not to look, it’s definitely not a great idea to get distracted while walking down the aisle at her wedding, still even with that knowledge she can’t help her head from turning.
The person is staring back at her, hazel eyes. That’s the first thing she notices. It’s a woman whose hair is honey blonde and waved in a way that is in between formal and natural. She's wearing a slightly baggy dark blue suit with a white shirt underneath, the top few buttons are undone so Eve could see her the hollow of her throat and some of her collarbone.
She swallows heavily at the intensity of her gaze and realizes the woman has also stopped to stare at her. Eve feels a nudge on her arm and registers it must be from her mother beside her, easing her onwards.
She turns back to the altar where she is headed slowly and without any real want to. She wants to turn back, she won’t, she won’t.
She does, just a quick glance. There is no one there anymore, a blank worn wall is only there in the place of the foreign woman.
