Liz was never in Roswell to become an anchor for Max, to make it home, so he was never content to live beneath the radar without answers. The summer before Sophomore year, following a breadcrumb trail of clues to try to find who he is and where he came from, Max runs away to LA in search of answers, but finds much more than he'd ever imagined.

Waking up in a fictional world, in the body of the 16 year old protagonist was not what I wanted to accomplish when I glanced for the final time into the fading sunlight. I didn’t understand it, and as I caught sight of a mirror, I did not recognize the face that stared back at me. I felt foreign in the body I was in. With that last thought the overwhelming recognition of wrongness evaporated as I, for lack of a better term, settled into my new body as my mind freaked out, also knowing I was here to stay and that this Bella, their Bella, was never coming back. I had her memories, but they were dry, factual, observational, and without any emotion. Without any soul. Because your soul took over her body, I think to myself, fighting down the strange shame I’d been battling. I didn’t ask for this, I didn’t plan for it, and I certainly didn’t want it. I was determined to do better with the strange second chances I’d been given. Why send me to this world if I wasn’t meant to do something with the story? I had a feeling that I wasn’t supposed to just pick up Bella Swan's life and live like a normal 16-year-old girl, avoiding every other plot point that made the story unique
