Xue Yang’s voice is weary, like it doesn’t belong to him. Like it’s on loan. The streetlamp outside their motel isn’t out yet and his head’s tipped all the way back, into the dust-halo it’s casting through the blinds.
It's a simple enough question, but it feels like a test.
