„Since when does SHIELD imprison kids?“ Bucky wasn‘t impressed. It didn‘t take a genius to know that SHIELD had little regard for age when it came to criminals, villains and potential Agents, but that kid was barely able to stand straight at that point.
„We do not imprison children, Sergeant Barnes“ Fury, sounding offended at the accusation. Not like Bucky cared. The little boy in the corner reminded him of Steve before the serum, small and way too fragile, fighting anyone no matter how senseless the reason.
„We found him at Carson‘s, Bucky. We brought him in because we have no lead on his family. He was the only child in the building“
Bucky‘s head snapped around to look at his best friend.
OR
Bucky had just wanted to pick up Steve to start his much needed week off together. He had not intended to leave the building with a sleeping kid in his arms.

Steve had things under control; his status was his own secret, and so long as he was alpha enough to lead the team on the battlefield, he could fit himself quietly into the cracks for the rest of the time. No need to fight anybody for dominance, because the serum's gift of full control over his status and sexuality meant he could be as neutral as a child when he wanted to be. Which mostly, he did. He kept the past in the past, and his junk in his pants, and called it success, but life, biology, and luck have a way of bringing hidden things to the surface, and the truth about Steve's status is the very least of the secrets about to come bubbling to the surface.

Clint gives a full body tremble and his lashes flutter, so Nat runs her fingers through his hair just because he looks so pretty she can’t help it.
“Does that sound good to you, lovely?” she murmurs in his ear and he nods instantly.
