Summary
For Bucky Barnes, jealousy wasn’t really something he had a lot of experience with. A little bit here and there as he’d grown up, sure, but the kind of bone-deep envy that set your teeth on edge and made you burn with a desire you couldn’t quench... that was a foreign and new experience, one that he desperately didn’t want. But here he was, plunged deeply and irrevocably into the thick of it, all thanks to one Margaret Carter.

Summary
“What about you, Barnes?” asks Dugan. The sound of his voice brings Bucky back to the present, dredges him out of memories of a beat-up little apartment with sunlight streaming in through the windows. “Got yourself a girl waiting for you back home?”
There’s an answer on the tip of his tongue, one that he’ll deliver with a cocky grin and a half-laugh and a little shake of his head. But Bucky is exhausted and hungry and so sore it hurts to move, and one of the guys in their platoon fucking died yesterday. His mouth tastes like iodine water and his feet hurt and none of it’s going to get better any time soon, and all at once Bucky misses Steve so badly he can barely see straight.
“Yeah,” Bucky declares abruptly, the word escaping from his mouth before he fully realizes what he’s saying. “Yeah, I do.”
[This fic presents a self-contained story that can easily be read on its own. If desired, however, it can also be read as a prequel to "Reconstruction Site" and "Amidst the Rubble". It takes place chronologically first but was written third.]Series

Summary
Steve always thought it was silly how easily girls fell for Bucky, even though they must have known he would only break their hearts. Told himself that he would require more than a few sweet words and a cocky grin. But thinking that while watching Bucky charm his way into a girl’s bed for the night is completely different from being on the receiving end of it.
Bucky teaches Steve how to flirt.

Summary
And it’s just. It’s too much. Weeks of pain and months of missing Steve and his mouth and the stupid shit that comes out of it; years of molding himself to his back at night and pretending there’s nothing else to it apart from sharing warmth; a decade of his stomach twisting with the foolish desire to make Steve laugh.
It's August and sweltering when Steve asks, out of nowhere, if Bucky wants to try kissing. Just to see what it's like. Bucky then spends far, far too many years pretending it didn't mean anything at all.- Language:

Summary
“You,” Bucky snarled, an inch from his chin, “will never be Steve Rogers.”
Maybe he was pissed that Barnes was withholding the apology he knew damn well he deserved on a day where nothing else was going right, a day where he desperately needed that goddamn apology, some acknowledgment that he’d done the right thing. Maybe he was wondering how far he could push the man before he finally snapped and beat the brakes off him and it would be okay, like, he was apathetic at this point to his own existence; if Barnes just obliterated everything he was with a punch to the skull that would be fine.
Maybe it was the fact someone was touching him for longer than two seconds in passing in an elevator: the way his skin was tingling and starved for contact because this happening twice in a six-hour span of time was unprecedented and he was pathetic for being into it and he hadn’t slept with anybody in a year and a half and his body was kind of shaking, actually, pinned between Barnes and the table.
Whatever it was, something possessed John Walker to open his mouth and very thinly go, “I don’t know, man. Right now, you kind of look like you wish I was.”
~
Barnes' loathing boils over. Walker welcomes it.
