Clark Kent, writer from up-and-coming Metropolitan periodical The Daily Planet, is sent to investigate the appearance of a mysterious winged demon - known as the Bat-Man - a creature responsible for terrorising the local constabulary and wreaking general havoc among the good people of Gotham City. However, Clark has a secret - he's also Metropolis' celebrated hero, Superman. And as Superman, he's determined not just to report on, but to stop the Bat-Man from carrying out its fiendish deeds.
Instead, he finds more than he bargained for: a web of intrigue surrounding the Viscount of Gotham, Bruce Wayne; his father, who disappeared in a mysterious explosion in Wayne Manor thirty years ago; and Jack Napier, the slightly unhinged Commissioner of the Gotham police force.
