Summary
It was the ton’s annual luncheon which is simply an excuse for more young debutantes and gentleman to mingle in hopes of gaining a marriage proposal.
It was not that Violet didn’t want to marry it was just she felt the whole process quite unpleasant and frankly all the suitors whom she had spoken with were are rather boring. No one seemed to have the spark she secretly was searching for.
As the luncheon progressed with anxious mamas fretting over their daughters and young men avoiding the debutants at any cost, Violet found it the perfect time to escape. However she realizes she is not the only person wishing to leave this dreadful event.
