Summary
One day, Satoru woke up and spontaneously decided he would become Spider-man.
Well, okay, it wasn’t quite like that. It may have started when he heard Tsukumo Yuki’s words—via one very distressed Suguru—about how non-shaman’s account for nearly all curses. It also maybe started when he realized that shamanism is slowly choking out Satoru’s best friend. And it maybe started when he realized that Satoru is the greatest shaman in the world, but not everyone can happily spend their whole life exorcizing curses in return for constant suspicion, open hostility, and a certain degree of isolation that crept into every corner of their lives.
And so maybe, Satoru decided to take his own swing at this issue. If the cursed energy of non-shamans creates the rat-race cycle of curses, then why not mitigate that cursed energy at the source? And who else is perfect for defeating negativity than Spider-man?

Maybe it’s telling that he always runs out of carmine before anything else, but it’s hardly Sokka’s fault that his most obliging subject happened to be the world’s foremost wearer of red. His whole portfolio was awash in the color. He layered it thick onto the page to capture layers upon layers of robes, watered it down into a blush, and scraped it dry onto the page to capture the scar.
He used to hate red.
