Wally looks at him questioningly but, doesn’t say anything. Dick clears his throat and looks his fiancée in the eye before speaking, “Well, I sort of ran into someone yesterday.”
“And you’re letting them sleep in your bed?” Wally guesses incredulous.
“You don’t understand. I wasn’t going to let him sleep on the couch, it’s uncomfortable.” Dick claims.
“So, you slept on the couch?” Wally asked confused.
“Now you’re getting it.”
“Am I, though?”
“Wally, love, this kid deserves the best of the best. I wasn’t going to let him sleep on the couch.” Dick explains.
“Kid?!” Wally exclaims, “Dick, did you kidnap a child?”
“Technically no.”
“What do you mean, technically?!”
“I mean I didn’t take him without parental consent? Technically.” Dick tries (and fails) to explain.

During this time the two grow close and when Dick is supposed to say goodbye Peter can't help but feel like he's loosing a father again and Dick can't help but feel like he's abandoning his son in a world that hates him. Right. He needed to focus.
“Little Wing?” Dick’s tone lost the harshness to it, as if sensing that Jason was teetering on the edge. He could always tell when Jason needed the grounding. He always knew. Could feel it from a mile away.
“Dick, I think…I think you have a son.”He closed his eyes, surrendering to the darkness. He forced his heartbeat to slow, and an eerie calmness washed over his thoughts. The last image that flickered through his mind was Aunt May’s lifeless eyes.
Peter hoped he wouldn’t wake up again.
