Summary
A month.
Hans had a mere damned month before he would be stolen away to a wedding and a mating he did not want in the slightest. His heat would hit properly then and then his fate would be sealed to another whom he would only meet upon his wedding night.
Instead of allowing himself to be doomed by nature and politics, Hans decides to take matters into his own hands and asks some bathmaids near the Devil's Den how to trigger his heat early.
After embarrassingly admitting that it is for him after a misunderstanding, the bathmaids have the alchemist make Hans the brew, telling him to put a few drops under his tongue and to bathe in the rest. Eager to use it right away and using far too much due to his distrust of the bathmaids giving him the right dose, Hans's misogyny lands him in deep shit as an intense heat triggers right away.
Half mindbroken and desperate for someone to extinguish the fire for cock brewing in his arse, Hans finds Alpha Henry at the forge and dooms the wedding in an entirely different way.

Summary
Hans had to hear of it second hand.
Apparently, his squire had up and gotten himself involved with the Kuttenberg blacksmith guild and taken on an old forge of all things. The young lord did find it odd how often he woke to the bed opposite him empty only a week after Suchdol, but he hadn't expected Henry to have gotten himself so engrossed in one of the Burgher guilds of the local city.
Overhearing rumors of Henry taking on a ruin, Hans is surprised by not only finding a forge worthy of a master blacksmith, but also Henry entertaining his customers in ways that sound entirely too lewd.
Of course, upon realizing that it was his own perverseness tainting an overheard customer, Sir Hans makes a decision to request Kuttenburg's newest master blacksmith to show him blacksmithing in a way that could entertain even a noble such as himself. Like that of what he thought he was overhearing. Up close and personal, but with no labor done on his part.
Hans had a feeling that he was going to Hell for watching the blacksmith's craft with such lewd eyes alone. But Henry more than manages to teach him how to enjoy being the metal worked over his furnace and anvil instead.
