Summary
He stays where he is, naked in the cold water with his drenched clothes floating around him, and watches the bubbles and the blood rise.
It isn’t long before a different pair of eyes appears - unnaturally bright in the gloom and deceptively calm, like the lake. A single tentacle joins them, wiggling back and forth in a wordless gesture of beckoning, and Eddie can feel the telltale tingles of the Call in his insides.
He goes, little waves rippling around him as he wades further into the lake. Under the surface, he can feel the cold, smooth touch of more tentacles caressing his ankles and shins and thighs.

After the whole drunk-on-punch-breakup incident during high school, Steve always managed to take a wide berth around Halloween parties, because even after all these years they leave a sour taste in his mouth, and it isn't from the candy. But Robin can be very persuasive. Or rather persistent. So Steve caves.

“Would you like me to make you a plate?” one of the girls asks Steve, where he’s just standing near the head of the table.
“No,” he clears his throat, “no thank you. You could lead me to Sir Edwards chambers.”
The people closest pause, and then continue eating like they’re pretending not to listen very fiercely.
