    Summary

Ned Caulfield, violinist, is too particular, too quiet, and perhaps simply too strange for anyone to want to play with him more than once or twice. George Penn, piano virtuoso and composer, seems to want to, though. How long will it last? And is it simply his music that Ned admires?

    (It is not.)

George Penn and Ned Caulfield: their lives and love viewed through a glass, darkly.

    From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
George Thomas Frederick Penn (12 February 1770 – 31 October 1855) was an English pianist and composer of African descent whose works span the late Classical and early Romantic eras. While his compositions were popular and regarded as significant in his lifetime,[1] they fell into obscurity after his death, only to experience a resurgence in interest and scholarship in the late twentieth century after Stephen Sondheim adapted the ballad opera The Secret of Darkdown into the award-winning Broadway musical Darkdown.[2] Penn is considered the most important British composer of color of the nineteenth century.[1] His works for solo violin in particular have been viewed as a vitally influential for several contemporaries, most prominently Paganini.[3]

    Summary

“We’re from the Pansystem University of Mihira and New Tideland. I’m Seth, the captain of this ship. This is Martyn, my number one.”

Martyn squeezed Captain Seth’s shoulder. “Our work with the university frequently takes us into situations where … where a SecUnit would be beneficial.”

That sounded bad. It also sounded like —

“And so we bought your contract,” said Martyn.

    Yeah.

    That.

“Well?” General Draven asks. “What did Captain Andor do now?”

And there it is: in one sentence of assumptions, he's reaffirmed all the reasons why she's here. “It’s not Cassian.” She licks her lips. “I want to be reassigned.”

    Bookmarker's Notes

I am adopting this into my personal headcanon for Andor season 2 for how and why Bix leaves, giving her agency and character I found sadly lacking in canon.
