Cass stared at her. Steph felt judged.
“He was cute, okay? And he seemed like a lot of fun on TV! But whatever, he’s a lot less cool lately anyway. What is with the jeans look? Boring! Totally copying Wonder Girl, and she pulled it off way better.”
Cass’s eyes narrowed to dangerous pinpoints. “What did he say to you.”

Kyle covered her mouth with his hand before she could finish. “Stop,” he rasped, squeezing his eyes shut. Alex furrowed her brow as he moved his hand away from her mouth to cup her cheek instead. "I promise, I won’t let anyone hurt you.”

“No, I…” The alien appears to steady himself. “Allow me to explain. My name is Tomar-Re. I am the Green Lantern of Sector 2813.”
“We’re neighbors, then.”
“Yes.” Tomar glances away awkwardly, but Clark senses that he wants very much to say something more. “I’d heard rumors of a survivor, but I did not think I would ever encounter you. You are Kal-El, are you not?”
Understanding hits Clark like a wave. “Krypton was in your sector.”
