Summary
There is the forest and there is the village. That is all that has ever been. There is nothing outside the forest that could possibly be worth what it would take to get there. Life in the village is happy, calm, even, but something lurks in the trees, leaving only words scrawled on trees to mark its destructive trail. It hasn't happened in years. After this, it won't happen for decades.

Summary
CC-1001 is a defective clone. He is far to used to being ostracised for his appearance than he should be, honestly. In a messed up sort of way, he has made his peace with being quietly decommissioned, no matter what Shaak Ti tries to say about it.
Then, a newly knighted jedi arrives, a strange Zabrak. CC-1001 might not have a name, might not live for very long, but at least he will get to see the stars before he dies.
(Spoiler alert: his new jedi isn't willing to let him die quite so easily)
