"Mira." Zoey warns.
"And lately? When I look at you? I don't see the girl we grew up with and love."
Rumi's hands begin to shake. "...what do you see?" she whispers.
"A demon. I don't trust you. Not with me, not with Zoey, not with yourself. You're no different than any other demon we've come across. No different than Gwi-Ma."
There is a shocked silence.
Rumi face crumples, it reminds them of the way she begged just a few weeks ago. Begged them not to leave her. To love her. Things had been so good, she was selfish to think she could have this. To want this.
Her tone is flat and resigned. "Oh."-------
or Rumi tries to hide her full demon traits after the idol awards to protect Zoey and Mira from her, and out of fear that their new fragile relationship will break under the reveal. Mira lashes out in the worst way possible after she catches Rumi in yet another lie, and angst ensues.

The moment panic swallowed her, her stripes burned black. Pain ignited her body. Her fangs lengthened, claws ripping through her flesh. She slammed those claws into the ice, dangling over the edge, her demon eye blazing molten yellow.
Below her, black water churned.
“Let go, Rumi,” a deep voice whispered—soft, unfamiliar, coaxing.
And for some reason… she listened.
She released her grip.
