“Kyle,” Dalton’s voice comes through the other side. He sounded distraught, on the verge of tears.
Something’s wrong.
Kyle shoots up in bed, phone still held to his ear, “Dalton? What’s wrong? Why are you calling me right now?” His voice is verging on panic, his heart pounding in his chest.
Colton’s slowly sitting up beside him in the bed, cautious and carefully. He reaches for Kyle, gently pulling him towards Colton’s chest, a quiet support.
Dalton goes quiet over the phone, sniffling before he says, “Kyle–Logan’s—he’s dead.”

Chase was this close to sneaking out of the shop and leaving before someone caught him and dragged him to another meeting when he just wanted to go home when he felt a tap on his shoulder, the smell of cherries and firewood behind him.
He spins around, and sees Kasey standing behind him, the older omega with a mischievous grin on his face that he had come to learn meant he had a plan concocted up.
“What’d you want, KK?” Chase asks with a sigh. He knows he’s being a brat but a day of nothing but press appearances and meetings have worn his patience thin. “Really, I just want to go home.”

“Woah–” Austin catches him under the armpits before he bites straight into the sheet metal of his car, “You alright?”
Ryan’s head is spinning a little bit and he has a sinking feeling what’s wrong with him, but instead of telling Austin anything about it, he says, “Yeah–just lost my balance there for a moment.”
Austin doesn’t seem to really believe him for even a single moment, but just hums and says, “Okay…if you’re sure.”
His head is spinning like a fucking bitch and the little meal he ate before the race is about to make it’s way out of his throat, but overall–he was doing absolutely fantastic.

Nashville was supposed to be Josef's race. He was born and raised in Tennessee and a win here would make an artful close to his 2024 season. From a huge scandal in St. Petersburg followed by an utterly humiliating press conference to winning his second 500 to finally closing on a high with his home crowd cheering him on… That would make a story someone could write a book and adapt a movie from.
This was real life and these tracks are unforgiving.

“Not even going to offer me a glass?” James speaks up just as Alex brings the glass to his lips.
Honestly, he wasn’t even going to use a glass, but he can be civilized.
“What happened to being quiet?” Alex quips, but he gets another glass anyway.
James mimes zipping his lips as he accepts the glass, but the glint in his eyes tells Alex James has him right where he wants him.
It’ll only be a matter of time until the older man pulls all of Alex’s deepest, darkest secrets out of him, but Alex can at least pretend to resist for a while.

Summary
Williams was poor, easily the poorest team on the grid and sponsorships can only do so much. Now, down to the last 100 million, they have to auction off their most prized possession, their drivers. This would be the chance for Oscar to swoop in, to be the knight in shining armor to the love of his life, and ride off into the sunset.
Sadly, bravery and common sense had escaped Oscar so Logan's knight came in the form of Kyle Kirkwood. Now, Oscar watches bitterly from the sidelines, scrolling through posts after posts about how happy Logan is as he slowly descends into madness and makes it Mclaren's problem.
