A sharp glare of sunlight enters through the east most window of Frankie’s room, shining directly onto her face. Grumbling, she rolls over, burying her face into her mountain of pillows. This was all for naught, because as soon as her head was covered by the pillows her phone rang.
Reaching out, she blindly fumbles for her phone, nearly knocking it off of her dresser in the process. She lifts her head up as she unlocks her phone, answering the call.
“This is Hill.” She mutters into the speaker. The voice on the other end is much too awake for this early in the morning.
“It’s Jackson, I’m out in front of your apartment with coffee. Get dressed, we’ve got a case.” The line goes dead after he finishes speaking. [. . .]
