And Dwalin stares, unimpressed, as Thorin clenches his jaw, and struggles to come up with a reason as to why he’s crafting a courting bead.
“For the Hobbit?”
Thorin sighs through his nose.
“Indeed.”
“When will you give it to him?”
“I… do not know if he will return my affections.”
Dwalin serves him another deeply unimpressed look.
“Soon. You should give it to him soon, my King.” The last bit is said with a sternness that only Dwalin would ever speak to him with. Thorin watches as he leaves, and then glances back down at the bead.
