there is a new shogunate decree called sanshi to exterminate all ningyo, as the shogun has been advised that these creatures – orobashi's descendants – must finally be plotting to usurp her and revive their old god.
with a lift of the shogun's finger, general kujou sara is assigned with the navy to trudge through the dark storms of seirai island to begin the hundred-day hunt of the century.
...that's all she remembers as she opens her eyes to nothing but bright, pale hues of pink and purple instead.
(yes she's heard of the news, so it's even more reckless for kokomi to save this creature the humans called general kujou, but also: why the hell not? a tengu would probably be understanding of their plight –
and there's no one to stop her now anyway.)
