Summary
Katsuki Bakugo, or Ground Zero to the racing world, gets stranded in a small town in Arizona after a reckless driver runs into him. With his agent avoiding his calls and no way to pay for his car repairs, he's forced to pick up a job at the diner. Work is slow, and the days drag by even slower. He spends his time driving on dirt roads outside city limits in borrowed cars and picking fights with energetic blonds. Late night drives, spilled drinks, and penny arcades introduce him to a slower way of life, making him question the merits of his fast-paced career.
As the days drag on, Katsuki starts to worry about what he'll find when he returns home. Has his coach found someone new to replace him? Will he be forgotten after a few months of radio silence? Why isn't his agent returning his calls?
If only the redheaded mechanic would stop looking at him like he had something to offer, he could focus on getting the hell out of this strange town.

By the time Xavier stumbles onto the bus, a paper cup of coffee in his hand and a baggie of ecstasy in his coat pocket, most of the team's already on board. Including Doug. Doug's crutches are taking up the other half of his seat, so Xavier has to settle for sitting in the row ahead of him and glaring back over his shoulder. "What the fuck are you doing?"
"Some number game," Doug says, and he raises a pad of paper with a neon cover into Xavier's view. "Eva said it would help pass the time, but it's really hard, so I don't know if it'll work."
"Not fucking..." He squints at the flopped over cover. "Sukduk, or whatever, on the bus! Why are you here?"
Doug shrugs. "Team's traveling. That means I'm traveling."
