Work Text:

The public transportation system. He really hated it. It was mostly cramped and dirty and people looked at him weird for various reasons.

He was messy looking, he wore a medical mask but the most common reason was normally cause five others with the same face sat or stood next to him most days. Rarely did he ever take transportation alone after all. If he wanted to go somewhere he could walk after all, as tiring as it was.

Today was a bit different than normal though, they were all planning to go to Jyushimatsu’s baseball game but he had slept in and of course no one woke him up. To make matters worse the only one that had stayed to make sure he would get there alright was stupid Kusomatsu. Apparently, the second eldest had so graciously volunteered to stay and wait for Ichimatsu to wake up and then was going to escort him to the game.

What a joke. It wasn't like he was five after all, he could ride alone.

Or better yet he could have just stayed home and slept through the whole ordeal.

In the end, he really wished he could have just slept through the whole day.

The train was packed, why was their brother's game a city over anyways? They had all been really surprised when Jyushimatsu said he made it on a real baseball team. As much as they knew he liked baseball they also knew he didn't know any of the rules and mainly liked to run and swing bats around. They hoped he would do well today.

He groaned entering the train, full of people, he pulled his mask up onto his face. He didn't want to breathe these people's air, not in the slightest. He was sure if they knew what trash he was they would feel the same, regardless he boarded the train with a glare that maybe didn't come off as intimidating as he wanted it to.

That would be Kusomatsu’s fault.
“Bruzzah! I cannot bare the thought of what might happen if we got separated on such a crowded train!” With that stupid Kusomatsu grabbed his hand.

He didn't really mind though if he was being honest, it was comforting to know what Karamatsu was right beside him on the train without having to look. Not that he would ever tell him that.

Regardless you're not really that scary if you're holding your smiling brother's hand. But there were worse things he supposed.

They had a few stops between them and their destination so Ichimatsu zoned out as the people around them talked and texted and read. There was always too much noise on these kinds of things.

After a few stops and people bumping into him later and he realized he wasn't holding Karamatsu's hand anymore. He looked around, not seeing his brother in the crowd of people.

Panic set in.

Did I miss the stop? Is Karamatsu off the train? Did he get abducted?

He didn't actually know the stop now that he thought of it. He had just been planning to follow Karamatsu. A sinking feeling in his gut came as he got more anxious. The crowd of people occasionally bumping him due to the train’s movements felt like an attack done on purpose. It was suffocating he felt his heart thundering in his chest and his breathing was panicked.

The train was so loud it was like everyone was talking at once, he couldn't take it anymore he wanted off. As much as he looked for Karamatsu he never saw him. He was ready to start attacking people if it got him off this train when a hand grabbed his own. He jumped almost screaming, luckily it was Karamatsu.

“Ah brother I'm so sorry I got bumped away from you are you alright?”
The question was answered silently as Ichimatsu tried to blink back tears and Karamatsu pulled him into a hug. Talking soothingly to him about how it was okay and they would be off the train soon.

Sure enough, the next stop was theirs and they got off together, this time not holding hands. Instead, Ichimatsu had hugged himself tightly to Karamatsu's arm as they walked not even letting go as they arrived at the park Jyushimatsu was playing at.

Osomatsu was ready to make a joke but the look he got from Karamatsu made him reconsider. He would ask about it later in private though.

After the game, they all went home back on the train again. With a suggestion from Karamatsu they all held hands inside the train and none of them disappeared.

Ichimatsu was thankful for his brothers, not that he would ever say it out loud.
