For The Internet

Summary:

Yoongi's brow moved up, "If he's that bad-" He took in a deep breath, "Just break up already?" Seokjin stared at him as if he had just said the stupidest thing in the world.
“Listen-" Seokjin moved his hands up, "the only reason I’m with him-“ Seokjin's voice was rough, seeing the other man shake his head, “it’s for the ad revenue.”

Or
Seokjin's dating for that clout.

Notes:

Howdy! Hello, this is something new.
Let's get down to it. It's my own social commentary to the internet and social media- and fandoms and just the internet and how insane it's become. Nothing- and I mean nothing is real or really related to BTS as the public figures or people they really are. Hell, I'm making fun of myself too- so don't get twisted or offended. It's fiction y'all. For real, just some meta-type shit that can get us all thinking about what we see as real and fake.

Warnings!
Eating disorders (sorry. But it's for the gram.) No. I don't think Seokjin starves himself, and no- I don't think he just eats salads. He a meat boy.
Also, no I'm not making fun of gay people- they are gay. It's just how some people post about it online- you know, clickbait. Like my summary which probs got you to click this mess.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Chapter 1: Underwraps

Chapter Text

Seokjin snickered lightly, placing his phone down. Not more than a few moments after posting- it started.

Bzz…

Bzzz…

And it kept going- to the point where he had to catch his phone from falling off the coffee table. He knew that a cute photo- of a warm peppermint mocha with some winks would get him a response. Well, a lot of likes. He looked back up, staring at the coffee that was on the table. It was there, on the coffee table, with heavy film lights over it. Seokjin reaches down, pulling the drink and taking a small sip. He grimaced as the drink was lukewarm. At best. Seokjin shrugging it off sat back before lifting his phone back up.

He loved reading comments.

“Awww!!!”

“I want!”

“Love this!” He was aware that people would say sweet things like that. But, nothing was better than reading those comments. Seokjin pulled his legs up onto the couch, readying himself for a read through when he read one comment. One comment that seemed to become a few hundred- and then thousand.

“I want a boyfriend like that!!” Seokjin sat back in his chair, brows lifted as he scrolled though more comments about his partner. He bit the inside of his cheek, shaking his head.

Everyone wanted one. A perfect partner who had rock hard abs, a deep voice, was loaded and brought them coffee in the morning.

“So do I,” he spoke lowly, as he stared off into the room. No one else was there- just Seokjin, a huge ring light- a camera and one not so warm drink. It was like this- a lot.

Social media plaques the world. Telling you what you should buy, what you should live like- and who you should love! That’s what you should want- because someone is doing it. Not. Whatever you see on camera. It’s fake. Some parts- (butts, lips, hairlines) more than others, but for the most part, everything you see online is fake. False. Negative. A big no-no. Take Kim Seokjin. Model, beauty guru, big lips and shoulders guy from insta. He was gorgeous. No thanks to diet tea, or blue vitamins. No, he put effort into what he looked like. He could post a mukkbang and then have to skip a few meals to make sure his cheeks don’t puff. He’d workout early in the morning- then have to run down and create some magical breakfast ( his go-to savior avocado toast) that he’d have to filter and face tune till it was cold and stale. (But let's be honest- food doesn't taste good unless it's posted on all your social forums!) He’d have to spend hours- hours grooming- everywhere. Just so he can go to the grocery store and post about- some variation of kale, why you should eat it- and how marvelous it is on his skin (Not the literal hundreds he pours into skincare products, nope lol) no, it was this plant- this life-changing plant. Thank god for the cruciferous. Then, he’d head back home and order a premade salad because he couldn’t be bothered to get up and make one. Scroll through hours of content, just to see how he can make himself stand out more. What trends he had to do, what trends he had to avoid.

He had to. With over a million followers under his belt on insta, three million on YouTube and two on Twitter-Seokjin has to stay relevant and fresh. Slime on my body challenge? Done. Eos lube. Done. I do drag in front of my homophobic parents? Check that the fuck out on his YouTube page right now- and don’t forget to like and subscribe. Misleading thumbnails were his pride but clickbaity titles were his legacy. Yes, it was hard work. Some would say it isn’t- and they could be right- but they don’t live the life to actually know. Seokjin did. Seokjin knew what it took to get this popular- and being real and honest wasn’t it. No, you had to put out a better version of yourself out there. Others did it. Others were straight-up liars, who didn’t give two shits about their audience. They were the means of money. The more clicks you get, the more likes you have- the more cash in your bank account.

Now, Seokjin wasn’t your run of the mill liar. No. He wasn’t complete trash. Seokjin- never lied per se. He just… stretched the truth. How? Did those vitamins work? He doesn’t know- he used a candy gummy- like those things were pure sugar. Maybe they worked- you know? He never advertises it as- a solution- a holy grail, the new coming of beauty tech. No, he said- ‘hey! This tastes good! Maybe the hype- isn’t stupid.’ See? Not lying. Did he, however, make a fucking ton of cash? Hell yes. Two-hundred just for that post. Any sales using his affiliation code, he’d get a small fraction. More money in his pocket. This was his job after all. That was something people always seemed to forget, he made his money off of this. And boy did he make money.

Seokjin heard his phone ding- not a notification but a message.

Seokjin’s brow moved up, quickly turning over his phone, looking at the messages. Seokjin stared at it.

So, his predicament was odd. He was internet famous. So, people on the internet pretty much dictate his life- and people are sick assholes.

How?

You see, people do this thing nowadays. When they like two people together- they will stop at almost nothing to make this couple happen. Shipping. That’s what people called it. They took two people- and put them together. They shipped them together. And when people wanted things to happen- they were almost out for blood to make it happen. Seokjin just so happened to be one half- to this thing. The other half- currently, was the one texting him. He read it and tossed his phone aside. Seokjin hated that. Hated who these people paired him with. Hated this man.

“Fucking shit.” Seokjin kicked off from the couch, knowing he had to go get ready. Why? He was going to have to go out with his ‘partner’. Why? Because Seokjin made a post that tagged him. Now, Seokjin had to repay him. They had to go out on a date. Well- and award show- and then an after-party. Seokjin had to let him wrap his arms around him, had to pretend to like him. More than like. To love him. According to the internet, Seokjin and him- had been dating for about two years now. At this point, Seokjin had to appear in love with him. Seokjin couldn’t be anything close to that. He pretty much despised him. But what the internet wants, it gets. Seokjin ran his hand through his hair, he had to look nice. That’s what he ordered. Seokjin sat up and went to his closet. He walked slowly and looked inside. He had to get ready. Had to appear like what he did online- not… the man who wears sweatpants, and a big hoodie. No, Seokjin- had to go put on makeup- because Kim Seokjin didn’t have bags, didn’t have dark circles- not in the photos he posted anyways.

Don’t get him wrong- Seokjin tried. He tried once to not wear makeup- and then people started a rumor he was either on drugs or kidnapped. Seokjin was neither- he wanted a cute couch photo- but apparently, the internet didn’t want the raw nature of his face. No, they wanted filters- and makeup. Now, Seokjin wouldn’t be caught dead without a thick layer of concealer under his eyes.

It took him three hours to look the part. To look like how Kim Seokjin was supposed to. He went to get his phone- and quickly snapped some photos. Seokjin brightened the photo a bit, going through- what seems like hundreds of photos- until he was stopped at one. It looked nice. The lighting is amazing, the background was good- and most importantly, Seokjin looks like Kim Seokjin. He posted it, and quickly- smiled as he watched the likes pour in. He looked good. He did his part. He was ready to go out now.

Seokjin sat down at a table, that he had gotten for them. He lifted his phone, reading the comments that were posted when-

“You got here early.” Seokjin looked up, his cheeks puffing up into a smile.

“Nice to see you too,” Seokjin stood up from his seat, moving to give the man a quick hug. Public appearances mattered after all, and the act began the moment they stepped foot outside. Now, he didn’t push Seokjin away. No, he moved his own arms around him- swaying Seokjin lightly.

“You look so good.” He spoke lowly, “The limo’s comes in an hour. Let’s eat?” Seokjin nodded, moving back to take a seat. The man has dark eyes, with matching hair. He was handsome- no other way to put it. His skin was a deep tan, rich- skin. His hair was cut to frame his face. His makeup was light, his eyelashes long and batting as he looked at Seokjin.

“I posted that you bought me a coffee this morning.” His brow moved up, "Real cute stuff you know?"

“I know.” He sighed, “It looked good. Good job. We gotta take a photo before we go to the award show. Some cute bathroom photo- for me- yeah?” He spoke up,

"Yeah," Seokjin answered rather annoyed he instantly wanted a photo with him rather than praising him for the work he did alone that morning.

“I’m thinking about a weekend together- a trip maybe? I have to go to one for promotion. It’d be good for photos. Bring whoever you want.” Seokjin knew why he told him that last part. He was going to bring someone. That’s why he told Seokjin to bring someone.

“I will.” Seokjin spoke lowly, “Are we doing airport photos?” He tilted his head,

“Depends?” He tilted his head,

“On?” Seokjin asked, rather bored-

“Hello, I will be your waiter, can I start you off with some drinks?” Seokjin smiled at the man,

“A water for me, please?” He handed Seokjin a menu,

“Same for me,” His eyes were dark,

“Alrighty, I’ll be just a minute.” Seokjin sighed, seeing the person leave.

“So? What does it depend on?”

“You.” He answered, “It depends on how good you look-” Seokjin felt a little offended by his words.

“Me?” He snarled back, “I’ll look great.” Seokjin huffed, “You on the other hand- that’s something we need to speak about. Last airport photos- you looked like a grandpa predator mix.” Seokjin sat back, “That’s what we have to worry about.” His eyes narrowed to him.

“What I wear-” He moved up a bit, “Is the start of trends. I am known for my fashion.”

“Well, it looks like-”

“Got your waters-” He placed down Seokjin’s water, “And yours.” He slid him his drink, smiling brightly. “Have you both had a chance to look at the menu?” Seokjin didn’t even have to look inside, he knew- he knew what he was going to order. He always ate the same thing here.

“Chicken Ceaser salad.” Seokjin handed back the menu, looking over at him. Seokjin knew that the show started now, “And he’ll have- a medium-rare steak,” He pressed his eyes closed sitting back. “A chickpea side, with the house sauce.” He handed Seokjin the menu, and Seokjin gave them both back to the waiter. The man nodded and left. Seokjin scratched his head, “Take a photo of me,” Seokjin said it lowly, “While I’m looking away- it’ll look good for tonight’s photos. The date before the appearance.” He nodded, pulling out his phone. Seokjin did as he always does- and posed. A few shots went off,

“Okay, good.” He said it, before sliding his phone to Seokjin. “Pick which one you want- and I’ll post it.” Seokjin did just that, picking up his phone. He started to look through his photos, a few of them- he looked a bit off- but the nineteenth one. That was the winner. Seokjin handed him back his phone.

“That’s the one. Tag it with something mushy- about how great I am.” Taehyung didn’t even pay any attention- taking up his phone- going to post it. Seokjin picked up his own phone, going to check his earlier post. Seokjin read some comments before a notification popped up on his phone. He was tagged on a photo. Seokjin clicked it, and there it was. The photo he chose.

Seokjin rolled his eyes, looking back up.

“Um, can he not look so gorgeous?” Taehyung shrugged, “I said cute. That’s more annoying than anything.” Taehyung stared at him,

“It’s something.” Taehyung spouted, “Just reply how annoyingly perfect I am for snapping a cute photo of you while we’re on a date.” Seokjin lifted his phone- quickly liking the photo. He moved down and commented. Taehyung’s phone buzzed, as he lifted his phone.

“The barf emoji?” Taehyung took in a deep breath, “For real?” Seokjin shrugged,

“It’s cute." He said carelessly, "Isn’t it?” Seokjin smiled, “I think it matches us. Disgustingly cute, am I wrong?” Taehyung started to scroll through his phone,

“Whatever you think of yourself,” Seokjin set his phone down, staring at him. Taehyung was complex. No. He was lying there. Taehyung was that kind of two-dimensional man. An eboy if you will. How? What you see was what you got. You saw a bit. He was handsome. No denying that- his face, perfectly sculpted, brows thick- lip full set- a mole here and there. A great sense of fashion- when he wasn’t dressed as a grandpa. He was a YouTuber and Instagram model. Seokjin can’t tell you how he got famous- but damn does he have a huge following. 10 million on Youtube. Had his diamond play button right behind his bed. (Seokjin was even allowed to touch it... Once.) His content never stayed in one place or made sense- sometimes he would post about weird things he wanted to talk about- or he’d review things people found horrible. The other day- spiderman 3 just to let the world know that there were worse movies- and peter parker hip thrusting was genius. Beyond his time in fact (with a chef kiss and everything). Now, he was sure- people would ask questions. Like- Who would have ever put them together? A vlogger/ whatever the fuck he was- and a beauty guru? Well, the internet wanted them together. So, here they were. Together. Like they wanted. “I’m getting an award for vlogging tonight.”

“You sure in for the win?” Seokjin asked, “How much of a surprising look should I have?” Taehyung shrugged,

“I wouldn’t be taking you unless I was going to win.” Seokjin shrugged, “Well, just be super happy. I’ll be kissing you- most of the night- to celebrate, so make sure to look like I’m not forcing you to. Like last time- you looked so angry.” Seokjin stared at him. "Brought down the whole mood to the after-party." Seokjin stared at him, "Didn't even touch me back- or eat- just looked pissed off." Seokjin gasped as if words had pierced through him,

“I was vegan!”

“So?” Taehyung asked,

“You smelled like meat! And all they served was-” Seokjin nearly screamed, the room around seemed to shift. Seokjin paused, “Sorry…” Seokjin apologized,

“Just don’t look like that.” Taehyung spoke up- as he unfolded his silverware. “Makes me feel bad.”

“Well-” Just before Seokjin could finish, their food arrived. Taehyung and he both took up their phones as their food was served to them. They didn’t say another word to each other, instead, they took photos of their food.

They both moved together into the bathroom. Some may think- a quicky? Adults being wild and fresh! No. Seokjin was in there for one thing and one thing alone. Clout.

Seokjin was helped out of the car, someone holding an umbrella over his head. Taehyung came out of the car after him, standing near him. He took the umbrella, his hand over Seokjin’s waist, leading him almost.

“You know people who come to these things alone?” Seokjin asked him,

“Nope,” Taehyung responded, grinning down to him hard. They both walked together, to the red carpet. It was blinding, the number of lights that went off. It was nothing Seokjin wasn’t used to though- don’t look at any camera in particular- but smile. He was Taehyung’s date- not the other way around. He had to look pretty- a side piece. Seokjin was ushered along with Taehyung, smiling the entire way. He was sure his cheeks would hurt the next day. Whatever-

Seokjin was going to get a lot of new followers. He always did after going out with Taehyung. Seokjin held onto the cuff of Taehyung’s sleeve, as they entered.

“I want to get you a new jacket- do you think I should wait till Christmas or your birthday?” Taehyung shrugged,

“What did I get you for your birthday?” Seokjin took a pause,

“That diamond necklace?” Seokjin turned his head back, “Should I get you a choker?” Seokjin asked, “I’d have to order that- so yeah birthday gift most likely.” Taehyung nodded,

“We spend Christmas at my place- or yours?” Seokjin tilted his head back at him,

“Yours.” Seokjin responded, “I don’t want you around my parents.” Taehyung’s brow moved up,

“But you’re okay being around mine?” Taehyung asked, closer to Seokjin’s ear. “Huh?” Seokjin nearly smiled,

“Your mom called me personally that time. Asked me if I was planning on being there. What was I supposed to say?” Seokjin gritted through his teeth,

“That you would be spending it at your place?” Taehyung asked, “They don’t have to know-”

“Stop nagging about this-” Seokjin’s voice came to a complete halt, “Oh! Hello!” He smiled,

“Well look at you both!” The woman smiled. She was another beauty vlogger. One of Seokjin’s rivals. She rushed him, giving him a small hug, her head turned up to look at Taehyung. “Congratulations on being nominated!” She was definitely the loud type. She nearly jumped him, giving him a tight hug. Seokjin sidestepped, crossing his arms over his chest. She let go, her date only nodding towards Seokjin. She let go of him, smiling brightly. “I am sure you’ll win.”

“I don’t know,” Taehyung said- out of what Seokjin knew was generosity. He couldn’t seem like an asshole. “Lots of talented people, you know?” Seokjin smiled as he heard him. Model? More like an actor. “Besides… the best part of tonight-” He looked over at Seokjin, “Is having him here with me.” Seokjin smiled back at him, moving to him. Taehyung wrapped his arms around him, pressing a kiss over the top of Seokjin’s head. “We’ll see you later?” Taehyung told her. She nodded, quickly moving on to someone else to bug. Seokjin was over him, both of them walking together.

“What did she want?” Taehyung’s voice was no bigger than a whisper.

“She wanted to see if we’d do a collab. Probably with you in it.” He looked up at him, “She’s been sending me dm’s left and right- some type of boyfriend tag? I doubt it’ll be fun for-”

“We haven’t done a video in awhile? We should do one soon… need to give people more of us.” Seokjin looked back,

“My channel or yours?”

“Both.” Taehyung took in a deep breath, “I have an idea my channel- do you have any?” Seokjin thought for a moment,

“We can open PR packages? You eat most of the time, while I dig through makeup.”

“That’s it?” Taehyung asked, “That doesn’t seem very couply at all?” Seokjin lost his smile,

“Then? I haven’t given a video for us much thought.” Seokjin took in a deep breath, “How about a prank?” Taaehyung shook his head,

“It’s not 2012. Think of something better.”

“Makeup?” Seokjin asked, “I could do it-”

“No.” Taehyung shook his head, “How about-” The room grew silent, and they knew they had to go to their seats. Taehyungn held his hand, as they both moved slowly to take their seats. Seokjin had already pulled out his phone, starting to take small clips. He moved the phone up, making kissing sounds to Taehyung.

“Stop it, babe,” Taehyung protested, but his hand crept down to his thigh. Seokjin moved the camera down- getting the firm grip on camera for a brief moment. Just for a moment. That’d send everyone haywire. He looked back at him,

“Should I add it now?” Taehyung nodded,

“Yeah- but don’t put a filter on it. Just say something.” Seokjin posted it, letting his phone fall onto his lap. The lights dimmed on the place, Taehyung’s hand staying in his lap. The award show- went on as most of those things do. Slow, boring- and with mediocre performances. Seokjin tried his best not to fall asleep on Taehyung’s side, with only his shire will power because god these things were boring. People thanked- god everyone they have ever met. Seokjin wanted this to be over- so he and Taehyung could stop touching. That’s when the last- and of course it was last, the award was announced.

“And the award goes to…” Seokjin perked his head up, a lovely smile in place. “To Tae’s Island!” That was his channel’s name. Taehyung quickly turned to Seokjin- confusion on his face.

“Who-” Seokjin smiled,

“You.” Taehyung got up from his seat, a light beaming on him. He smiled happily, Seokjin standing up right after him- clapping loudly. Taehyung turned back to him- and without hesitation, he took hold of the back of Seokjin, pulling him in. Seokjin was so close to his face. Seokjin wasn’t surprised, caught off guard, or anything. This was their normal. He moved his hands up- holding Taehyung’s face before they kissed. It wasn’t special. Seokjin knew that, but damn… he was sure to the world- it looked amazing. He was wearing spanx, to make his ass look great- his suit was custom-tailored. Taehyung too. He was sure, that both of them- looked like the hottest things on this side of the planet. And boy- this was being live-streamed. Seokjin opened his eyes, Taehyung taking a step back. They let go, Seokjin clasping his hands in front of himself. Slowly, the crowd erupted, claps came from all over, Seokjin sitting back down. He held his phone up, covering his mouth a little. Firstly, when he recorded- it’d sound like muffled tears. Secondly, who knows what Taehyung must have done to his lips- he couldn’t risk looking bad for even a moment. Seokjin smiled, looking up.

“Wow.” He looked around, his eyes trying to find Seokjin as he was on the stage. “Umm… I wasn’t- expecting to win- so… I didn’t make a speech.” He most certainly did. This was apart of it. “I want to thank my mom- and my camera guy… the inventors of the Go-pro camera for that time I jumped off a cliff.” He bit his bottom lip, giving off that confused face. “I want to say thank you to all my fans! Your support and love- is what drives me and got me here tonight!” He nodded, “And finally, I want to thank my partner.” A large smile came onto his lips, “Seokjin. The most beautiful man on this planet. I love you- thank you for being apart of my life.” He moved the award up, and Seokjin stood up- clapping.

They were in the limo, both sitting at far ends of each other. The after-party was boring. Seokjin didn’t hate how many people came up to them. Collab seekers. That’s why they came to them. Seokjin loosened his tie,

“You dropping me off at home?” Seokjin asked, “I have to start skincare.” Seokjin explained, “That’s gonna keep me up for at least another hour-”

“I was thinking I’d head to your place. I can post some photos of you in your underwear- before you head to sleep? Be new- and would show us together at night.”’ Seokjin stared at him,

“I have stuff to do-” Taehyung’s brow moved up,

“I want to do it-”

“Then we can do it at your place,” Seokjin spoke up, “I don’t want you at my place without you telling me-”

“I’m telling you right now.”

“No.” Seokjin answered, “You have to tell me beforehand-”

“Why?” Taehyung asks, “Got someone back there you don’t want me to meet?” Seokjin stared at him.

“Listen- I can just send you a photo-”

“I want to post a video for snap- and tiktok.”

“Then we go to your place- take it and then I leave.” Seokjin answered, “It’s fair.” Taehyung stared at him.

“Fine.” Seokjin sat back in his seat, before checking his own videos he had taken. They were blowing up. Seokjin looked back up at Taehyung, he was going through his own phone, “You’re an ugly crier.” He let out.

Seokjin went into Taehyung home. It wasn’t unfamiliar. He’d been here- countless times. They were dating after all. Seokjin followed him, taking off his jacket and dropping it on his couch.

“Do you want cute underwear- or sexy?” Taehyung called, as he went into a separate room. That room was Seokjin’s. For when he stayed over. Seokjin had one too- a place to keep he pretend ‘boyfriend’ in the event they had to pretend to bang.

“Sexy,” Seokjin said in a sigh, Taehyung came out of the room, tossing Seokjin the pair of shorts. Seokjin stared at them,

“When did you buy these?”

“My assistant did.” Seokjin lifted the lacy things, “Said they’d frame you.” Seokjin turned to him,

“I want the cute ones then,” Taehyung tilted his head,

“The cute ones are just in pink.” Taehyung let out, “Wear them- think your audience will finding it refreshing.”

“I don’t need anyone seeing my dick.” Seokjin barked at him, “Especially not you.” Seokjin stood up, “I’m wearing what I got on- or no photo at all.” Taehyung stared at him for a moment,

“Fine. Let’s make this quick though.”

Seokjin arrived at his home, tossing his jacket aside. His fingers running to his ears to practically rip off his earing. He was tired- but the night was not ending. Nope, he had to go take off his makeup. Seokjin dragged his body into his bathroom. He pulled away from his white button-up, tossing it aside. He started to wash his face, one product after the next. It took far too long- before Seokjin was finished, a pimple mask on a few pesky spots, corrective creams- and face mists. He placed his retainer in his mouth before he was done. He took up his phone. He was unamused at the time.

It was late. Five in the morning late. And he had to be up at eight to workout. He was going to be tired later on, very tired.

Seokjin just wanted to crawl into bed right now though and let later thoughts- be dealt with by later Seokjin. He moved quietly, going upstairs into his bedroom. He kicked off his slippers and jump into bed. Seokjin laid back on his pillow cascade, bringing his phone up to his face. Seokjin smiled as he read through Taehyung’s comments. Praises to him snagging, for one the award, and most importantly. For Seokjin. He smiled before he let his phone fall on the pillow beneath him. He didn’t know if he liked this type of life. If it was worth anything he felt, how he wanted to express himself. Sometimes, like today- Seokjin wanted to scream. Seokjin wanted to shout to the world. What? He didn’t have a clue. With the platforms that could allow him to reach millions, Seokjin felt as if he could never really be heard.

Chapter Text

Seokjin grumbled as he drank his protein shake. Two hours of sleep. At best is what he got. He woke up to a few texts from- he woke up to about a hundred. Which was a lot less than usual. He answered most of them- telling them he’d be busy tonight. He was going to be busy after all. Filming until noon and then he had to edit. Yes, Seokjin edited his own videos. He’d done it for so long- he can’t even think of actually letting someone else take that from him. He finished his rigorous workout- only to go sit down in front of the camera. He had turned all his lighting the day before- he lifted his remote and started the camera. A small red light came on, Seokjin quickly bringing his lips into a smile.

“Hello my lovelies,” He moved his hands up, blowing a kiss. “Welcome back to my channel.”

Seokjin slumped down on his bed, pulling the laces on his hoodie to cover his mouth. Seokjin had his laptop on his stomach, splicing together cuts of his video. Now, Seokjin was a beauty guru. So makeup was his livelihood but when he had time off- like hell he was going to put that shit on. Besides, he had to wait for his boyfriend to call him. That was how he was going to spend his night.

Ding!

Seokjin glanced at his phone. Someone texted him. He reached for his phone- which was on the other end of the bed. It was hard, he was subjected to use his foot. Dragging it close to him, Seokjin snatched it- bringing his phone up to his face. It was him. Taehyung.

“Coming over? Someone I promised to collab with said they wanted to see my life. ” Seokjin stared at the message. What? This wasn’t planned. Seokjin sighed- so much for his plans on editing. He closed his laptop. He had to look presentable- in about thirty minutes. Like hell- this asshole was going to have to pay.

“Babe!” Yes, Taehyung had the keys to Seokjin’s home. It made sense. They were dating. Seokjin even had the keys to his place. Fairtrade, Taehyung had to come up with. Why? For instance where people- wanted to collab and meet his lovely boyfriend. He kicked off his shoes at the door- knowing how much of a picky man Seokjin was. Taehyung ran his hand through his hair, smiling as he turned back to the man behind him. “My boyfriend- he’s a bit of a clean freak.” Taehyung smiled. Where the fuck was he? “BABE-”

“Yeah?” Seokjin came out of the kitchen, holding a green smoothie in his hand. He took a sip of it, Taehyung smiled at the sight. He moved to him, reaching for him- pulling Seokjin close to him. Seokjin got on his toes, both of them giving each other a quick peck on his lips.
“You got here early…” Seokjin pouted, “I was gonna go buy some stuff to make you lunch.” Taehyung waved it off, “Oh-” Seokjin paused, seeing cameramen behind Taehyung. “You filming something new?”

“Hello, Mr. Kim.” A scruffy man moved forward, “Taehyung and I are doing a collab.” Seokjin knew who he was. He was one of the idiots Taehyung had at his house. Taehyung- was a group kind of a man. This person- was always there when Seokjin had to do his usual ‘flirts’. Seokjin never really spoke to him. He was sure they were just mooching off of Taehyung’s successes, and he was too foolish to get that.

“Oh? What about?” Seokjin looked up at Taehyung, Taehyung wrapped his arms around Seokjin’s sides.

“It’s a surprise.” He smiled at Taehyung, “Right?” Seokjin looked up at Taehyung,

“Surprise?” Seokjin gritted his teeth. He didn’t like surprises. Not from this guy. “Alright.” He nodded, “So-”

“Go get your stuff, I’m driving us.” Seokjin stared at him.

“My-”

“Oh.” He smiled, “Want my help?” Seokjin took in a deep breath,

“Yeah- since I don’t know what to bring?” He nodded, shifting and making for the stairs. Seokjin stayed behind and spoke to the others- only because they were filming.

“Make yourself at home. There are drinks in the fridge-”

“With what we’re doing- drinking wouldn’t be too smart.” Seokjin nodded, not understanding how this had to do with anything. He smiled,

“Okay- we’ll be a minute-”

“Take as long as you want.” He smiled, “Taehyung and you- we get it.” He winked. Seokjin didn’t like him. Not one bit.

Seokjin went to the bedroom he had for Taehyung, seeing him there over the bed. He closed the door behind him,

“Want to tell me why you’re here-”

“I told you I wanted to film a video.” He turned back to face Seokjin, “What’s wrong? I gave a half-hour warning.”

“Half an hour isn’t a warning.” Seokjin hissed- “It’s you coming up with something and coming over.” Taehyung sighed,

“So, we’re moving up the time? An hour notice from now on?” Seokjin’s nostrils flared,

“A days. That’s standard- and you know-”

“The thing I needed for our video came in. The boys wanted to do it now- and we have everything set up.”

“Do they dictate your life?” Seokjin’s tone was sharp, “This thing we have- it only works when we both know what the fuck is going on-”

“Stop that.” Taehyung rolled his eyes, “We’re aren’t going to argue. We said it- when we need each other- we have to be there.”

“You didn’t come with me to my launch party last year.” Seokjin reminded him, “I had to go alone-”

“I had mono!” Taehyung snapped. “Besides- I have never once skipped when you’ve needed me.” Seokjin shook his head,

“I had plans-”

“So do I- but I cut them when you need me.” Taehyung’s brow went up, “So, grab a jacket- and fix your face. I’m sure they think we’re fucking with how loud you’re shouting.” Seokjin rolled his eyes,

“Fine.” Seokjin’s voice was low, “I’ll go.” Seokjin sighed, placing his hands on his hips, “What do I need?”

“Jacket. That new one with my merch.” Seokjin turned back to him,

“You want me to wear that neon piece of-”

“Watch your tone.” Taehyung warned, “I tell people to buy your makeup all the time.” He reminded, “Besides, that jacket is sold out. You’re the only person in this world with it. Be appreciative of your boyfriend.” Seokjin sighed,

“This best not be too long. Like that other time.” Taehyung sighed,

“It wouldn’t have been too long if you just didn’t cry the entire way.”

“You made me bungee jump off a cliff! Without telling me!” Seokjin balled his fist, “I thought you were gonna take me to Paris- and like-”

“Well, that’s not my content babe,” Taehyung snarked back, “Besides- that’s one of our top videos!” Seokjin stared at him,

“That’s cause I was crying- and you had to pull me away from your shirt- to throw me!” Taehyung shook his head, only waving Seokjin off.

“Get your stuff- I’ll go mess up my hair- and wrinkle my clothes.” Seokjin took in a deep breath,

“For real though-” Seokjin crossed his arms over his chest, “I have something to do later. So- I can’t be too long with this.” Taehyung rolled his eyes,

“Two hours tops.” Taehyung answered him, “You have my word.” That was his last words before he vanished into the bathroom. Seokjin would have to grit his teeth, this ass- was right. They both had a compromise with each other. He had to suck it up.

Seokjin had a Gucci bag, holding some makeup wipes- in case this made him cry. Some things for a touch-up- and lip stains.

“I’m done,” Seokjin called up, Taehyung reentering the room. His shirt was wrinkled, his belt- didn’t go through one of the loops. His hair, that was combed neatly when they entered was now flared in some areas.

“You look good,” Seokjin wrinkled his nose, “I made a good choice with that.” Seokjin looks down at the crop top, “Your tummy looks cute and everything.” Seokjin looks up at him,

“It’s cold outside.”

“Hoes don’t get cold.” Seokjin bit down on his lip. Hitting him- would be mean- but it would leave a mark. People thought they were fucking- it would add a bit of authenticity to this. “Cardi’s words babe.” Seokjin nodded,

“You’re gonna give me your jacket huh? To make us look cuter?” Taehyung nodded,

“I will.” He pointed back to the bag, “So, don’t bother bringing one.” Seokjin shook his head,

“I didn’t.” Seokjin looked back at the mirror on the wall, moving back a few strands of his own hair. “Say- should I look the part too?” Taehyung shrugged,

“Could just look like I sucked you off?” Seokjin turned to face him.

“But your pants are the one undone.” Taehyung looked down,

“Yeah…” Seokjin sighed,

“Alright.” Seokjin moved to stand directly in front of Taehyung. He dropped his bag on the ground, next to Taehyung’s feet. Seokjin took hold of Taehyung’s shirt- bringing him close to his face. Taehyung held a little smirk on his lip, as Seokjin kissed him. Seokjin moved his hands through Taehyung’s hair- messing it up more. Taehyung’s own hand remained on his side, letting Seokjin continue and Seokjin did. He pressed Taehyung over the wall before he bit down on Taehyung’s bottom lip. He was a bit stunned at the sudden move. Seokjin not trying to draw blood- only slightly pulled on him. He let go, Taehyung quickly moving his hand to cover his lip.

“Ow!” He exclaimed, Seokjin only wiped his own mouth. Taehyung stared at him, “Why’d you bite me-” Seokjin pointed back at the mirror.

“Makes your lips puffy.” Seokjin explained, “Gives you that- freshly fucked face.” Seokjin finished, making his way to the door. Seokjin came downstairs, a small smile on his lips.

“You guys took awhile!” Seokjin lowered his face a little,

“Sorry- had to… grab my stuff and pack my bag.” The man’s brow moved up,

“Where’s your bag?” Seokjin didn’t even turn around, Taehyung coming down behind him, holding his bag. Seokjin licked his lips, turning his head back- seeing Taehyung. His puffy lips, and ruffled hair- clearly telling everyone what they had been up to.

“We’re all set guys. Let’s hit the road!”

They all set off, Seokjin walking ahead, arms crossed as he heard Taehyung start speaking into the camera.

“Ahoy, my Islanders!” Seokjin hated that intro. Still, he did his signature salute, “We came to pick up Jinnie. He has not a clue where we are going! Big surprise my dudes!” He took hold of Seokjin’s elbow, pulling him back, “Right babe?” Seokjin turned his head back, looking straight into the camera.

“Nope.” He shook his head, “He wouldn’t tell me. Trust me-” He rolled his eyes a little, “I tried.” Taehyung had a snarky look on his face,

“Okay, get in my car babe- I’m driving!” Seokjin nodded, looking for his usual Tesla- only to see his Bugatti. This was a warning flag to Seokjin, who turned his head- brows risen.

“Why did you bring that one?”

“What do you mean? You like that car.” Seokjin did. To take photos on. Not to actually ride in it. Seokjin took in a deep breath.

“You aren’t playing with me, right? Planing on leaving me in the middle of nowhere?” Seokjin’s lips wobbled into a pout. “Tae! Pranks aren’t fun! That won’t be funny!” Taehyung chuckled a little, the cameraman backing up to get their conversation on film.

“What are you talking about?”

“If you leave me somewhere I swear-” He took hold of Seokjin, rocking him lightly. The camera got close to his face,  “Let’s go!”

“Okay. Got it.” The cameraman moved the camera down. “I’ll go drive my car- and we meet there?” Taehyung nodded,

“Yeah- yeah- I’ll drive me Jin. Get him some lunch before we get there.” The cameraman shook his head,

“I don’t know-” He smiled, “Eating beforehand sounds like a bad plan.” Taehyung and he both chuckled, Seokjin taking a step back. He didn’t say much more- only going to the car, standing at the passenger door. Taehyung opened the door for him, going around and tossing his bag in the trunk. There was one thing Seokjin liked about this car. It had two seats. Seokjin had one- and Taehyung would have the other. Seokjin wouldn’t have to deal with his frat like bros. Taehyung sat next to him, turning the car on. It scared Seokjin a bit, looking over at him.

“I hate you.” Taehyung scoffed,

“Same to you.” Seokjin pulled up his phone, blinking. “You owe me for this. You do.” Taehyung sighed,

“Take a photo. One Instagram post for me bugging you today. That’s a pretty good payback right?” Seokjin looked at him, “I’ll throw in a cute tweet about you.”

“Deal.”

Seokjin showed Taehyung the post, him nodding.

"I look good." He smiled, "You did good kid." Seokjin rolled his eyes, seeing him searching for something in his camera roll. "I don't like any of these..." He shook his head,

Taehyung googled one of Seokjin's photos from his cosmetic site. He found one he liked enough- downloading it and starting to write a post.

“And tweeted.” Taehyung smiled, showing Seokjin what he had put. Seokjin smiled,

“Why would lip glosses taste good? Do you eat lip gloss?” He looked up to Taehyung, who shrugged.

“I’m always kissing you?” Seokjin held his phone for a moment. Just as he was about to hand it back- a message came down. Seokjin stared at it for a moment, feeling a lump in his throat as he read it. “Hey- are you done-” He saw the message on his phone- snatching the phone out of Seokjin’s hands. “Don’t read my messages.” Seokjin scoffed, sitting back in his seat.

“I didn’t.” Seokjin sat back in his seat, “But- make sure your dumbass doesn’t call me a dumb slut ever again.” Taehyung swallowed hard, the car becoming silent.

Seokjin looked out of the window. They were driving through the desert. Seokjin was sure- was so fucking sure that he was going to fucking prank him. He kept to himself, on his phone. He changed his profile photo. Something a little showier. Taehyung hadn’t said a word to him. Seokjin didn’t care. What they had- wasn’t real. What he didn’t appreciate though, was being badmouthed. Seokjin called him- a few things… don’t get him wrong. Taehyung was an asshole. But Seokjin never- would never let anyone badmouth this fucker like that. Seokjin regretted getting in a car with him. Putting on his fucking merch- or ever doing this. His own phone dinged, Seokjin reading a few messages. His brow moved up, looking up at where they were. Seokjin was in the fucking middle of nowhere. His signal was nonexistent, leaving him to drop his phone on his lap.

“We’re here.” Taehyung drives into a small route- pulling into a parking lot. Seokjin was silent, opening the car, slamming the car door shut. Taehyung was silent, texting on his phone. A car pulled up next to them, Seokjin instantly knowing who it was. The camera crew. Seokjin rubbed his cheek, knowing full well- that he couldn’t stay looking this angry. Why? Because- this wasn’t real. Him being upset- him caring about what this man called him… It didn’t matter. Between reality, and the internet- Seokjin’s feelings didn’t matter.

He smiled, waving at the men.

“You guys take forever!” Seokjin shook his head, “Are we gonna do this?” Taehyung’s cameraman came out of the car, pulling it up- filming Seokjin.

“Seokjin, do you have any idea what you’re doing now?” Seokjin looked around, looking straight into the camera. “Not a clue.” They both chuckled before he turned to film Taehyung.

“I’m filming. Start Taehyung!” Taehyung looked down for a moment, holding his head down- “Taehyung!” He snapped his head, a smirk coming to his face.

“Let’s get it!” He shouted, starting off. Seokjin took in a deep breath. This wasn’t going to be a good day. Not while he was him anyways.

Seokjin was more or less, following Taehyung and his crew- until he saw what they were walking to. It was a race track. Seokjin didn’t like it. Someone was going to be racing. And if they didn’t want to tell him- it was probably because they wanted to make him cry or something. Sometimes, most of the time- Seokjin wondered what his fans- could see in this idiot? As they got closer- the camera came to Seokjin’s face.

“What do you think? Do you know where you are?”

“A race track.” Seokjin murmured, “Makes me nervous… I hate not knowing what he’s planning.” Seokjin drew back, lifting his phone. It was a dark- and cold day. Not the kind of day- where Seokjin’s tummy should be out. Seokjin would have preferred it if they had chosen a more- warm area. Whatever the case, he was in it- until this video had a conclusion. “Are you guys going to tell me what we’re doing here?” The man behind the camera chuckled,

“TAE! I think it’s about time!” Taehyung seemed to stop in his tracks, going back to Seokjin. Taehyung smiled at him.

“Here-” He handed Seokjin a blindfold. Fuck. Seokjin looked down at it and shook his head.

“No.” Taehyung’s brow moved up,

“Come on, I need you to. It’s a surprise.” Seokjin swallowed hard. “Or we’ll have to stand here until you do.” Seokjin looked up, his eyes dull staring back at Taehyung. “Please?” Seokjin took hold of it. It would get things done quicker- then so be it. He’d be today’s punching bag for jokes. Seokjin slipped it over his head. He nodded,

“Okay, done,” Seokjin spoke up. Seokjin felt Taehyung’s hands run under him- and he instantly pushed away. “No- no- don’t play with me-!”

“It’s alright- I’m gonna carry you.” Seokjin took in a deep breath, letting him do as he said. Taehyung threw him over his shoulder, speaking to the camera. “Alright! So, we’re gonna head to the track!” He slapped Seokjin’s ass. Seokjin let out a little yelp. He hated this man. He really did.

Seokjin was carried, hearing Taehyung speaking to his friends. He felt like he was just there- for fun at this point. It took a while- until Taehyung came to a halt.

“We’re here.” He took hold of Seokjin’s behind, lowering him gently. His friends were snickering.

“Can I take it off?” Seokjin asked, moving his hand to the blindfold.

“Not yet,” Taehyung told him, “Okay- so what do you think we’re gonna do today?” Seokjin took in a deep breath,

“Umm… I-I don’t know? Are you going to do something mean?” Seokjin asked. Taehyung chuckled a little,

“Take it off.” Seokjin pulled up the blindfold, blinking as he tried to readjust his vision. His eyes stilled as he stared at what was ahead of him. It was bright red. It was a car. A matching Bugatti to Taehyung. Seokjin tilted his head up to him,

“What’s this-”

“I bought you a car.” Seokjin knew what reaction he wanted. His eyes grew large, covering his mouth.

“No.” Seokjin shook his head, Taehyung nodded- a large smile on his face.

“All for you babe!” Seokjin put his hand on the car, shaking his head.

“For real?” He nodded, Seokjin knew what part to play. His boyfriend just got him a car. He’s seen these types of videos. He was to be grateful. To be happy- that his perfect boyfriend, got him a perfect car. Seokjin rushed him, jumping onto Taehyung. He wrapped his legs around him, Taehyung holding him up. What a cute fucking video this would be.

Seokjin got off of him, still holding a shocked face.

“Let’s go for a ride?” Taehyung asked, “Or a race?” Seokjin smiled,

“Race.” Taehyung nodded, holding him close.

“Let’s get it!” Taehyung called out.

Seokjin pulled Taehyung’s coat over him- it was bigger, making him look smaller. Seokjin was a big guy- so he must have gotten it a bit bigger to make Seokjin look cuter. He smiled,

“Are you ready?” Seokjin turned the car on, the engine roaring alive. Taehyung moved his own car to its side. This was going to be interesting. “GO!” The man on the outside called it. Seokjin’s wheels screeching- and he and Taehyung both pulled off. Seokjin followed the track, looking over to the side, biting down on his lip. He was so close to the first turn. Seokjin knew how to drive. He knew how to drive- really well. Seokjin pulled up his e-brake, drifting with ease. He knew Taehyung didn’t know how to do it. With that, it separated him- and Taehyung completely. Seokjin raced down- and in no time he was coming upon the next turn. Seokjin didn’t worry at all, continuing to speed. Seokjin past the finish line- slowing down. He knew what was next. The outro to the video. Taehyung came a few seconds later. Shaking his head, as he came out of his car- he held his arms open, telling Seokjin to come into them. Seokjin rushed to him, Taehyung shifting him in his arms. Seokjin looked up, puckering his lips. Taehyung gave him a quick peck before they turned to the camera they both knew was behind them. Taehyung held him close to his body,

“So, that the video guys. I just wanted to do something nice for the man I love,” He looked at Seokjin, smiling sweetly. “Real quick-” He smiled, “I have new merch!” Seokjin smiled largely. Seokjin moved forward, his hand moving down his body. “He loves that top.” Seokjin most definitely did not. “I have more hoodies in stock- and soon we’re gonna have a huge giveaway! So, like and subscribe- and don’t forget to turn on notifications to know when that’ll happen!” Seokjin moved back to him, Taehyug holding him. “And go check out my man’s channel! We’ll have a video up there together soon. Now- until we sail again- see ya!” Seokjin smiled. And then, the light went off. Seokjin’s smile faded, looking down to the ground. Taehyung moved to Seokjin, fixing his coat to cover him more. Seokjin ran his hand through his hair, “Wanna go have dinner?” Taehyung asked Seokjin blinked a few times.

“Dinner?” Seokjin asked. He nodded, “Yeah- we’re a few hours out- so it’s best we grab something to eat here-”

“Hours?” Seokjin asked. He nodded, Seokjin taking in a deep breath.

“You said- two-” Seokjin closed his eyes sighing. He reached into his pocket, pulling out his phone- “FUCK!” He called, he bit down on his tongue. Cursing his luck. No fucking signal. “Let’s go.” Seokjin scratched his head. “To- to a restaurant- with wifi or- or service.” Taehyung nodded,

“Okay- there is a place- like twenty minutes down the road.” Seokjin nodded,

“Let’s go.”

Seokjin was on his phone, texting furiously as he took his seat. Taehyung sat across from him, making small conversation with the waiter who was a fan. Seokjin didn’t even bother to look happy- as he took his seat.

“Yeah- can I get two glasses of water for us.” Seokjin looked up, shaking his head-

“Can I get a beer?” Seokjin asked, “Yeah- a beer.” The man nodded. Seokjin went back to his phone, Taehyung’s friends all order. Knowing full well- Taehyung would probably be handling the bill. Seokjin was annoyed. He was told this would be quick. No, he was here- in god knows where- with two bars of reception. He was trying to apologize on one end and keep faces on the other. Seokjin looked up, seeing Taehyung looking down at his phone. At Seokjin’s. Seokjin flipped his phone around- pressing his lips together.

“Any reason you want to drink?” Taehyung asked, a bit too comfortable.

“I need one.” Seokjin answered with a tight smile, “Why?” Seokjin’s lips were together, “Should I not?” Taehyung sighed,

“No.” Taehyung smiled, “Just wondering…” Seokjin nodded, only for his phone to go off. Seokjin pulls up his phone, going back to ignoring the people around him. He didn’t notice much- until he felt a slight push on his side. Seokjin looked up, seeing the waiter back- brow risen.

“Huh?” Seokjin asked,

“What do you want to eat?” Seokjin looked down- he got the menu… but never looked through it. Seokjin opened his mouth,

“He’ll have a grilled chicken caesar salad,” Taehyung answered for him. “Light hand on the dressing please,” One of Seokjin’s friends chuckled at him. Cute, right? Well, Seokjin’s ordered for him- countless times. It was no surprise that he should at least know what Seokjin ate. Seokjin didn’t pay too much attention to any of the men around him, eating his salad- while they all ate steaks and big meals. Seokjin sipped at his beer, his eyes staying on the phone. Every time it made a sound, he was on it. Dinner finished up after- an annoyingly long time. Taehyung had his hand under his chin, his eyes shifting from Seokjin to his friends. After a while, well- after seeing Seokjin become more- antsy. Taehyung knew- he had told him it was only a few hours more but… it was a lot for Seokjin. Taehyung paid, and they were on their way. Seokjin split off from the group, taking up his keys- ready to leave in his new car when-

“You planning on driving?” Taehyung asked Seokjin who was at the driver’s door. Seokjin looked back at him.

“Yeah,” Seokjin answered, “Why?” Taehyung looked at the car, and then at him.

“You had a few drinks.”

“I can manage,” Seokjin answered. Taehyung took in a deep breath,

“Let me drive you back-”

“I can order an Uber if I think I can’t drive.” Seokjin retorted, “I’ll be fine.” He turned back, getting into the car. Taehyung held his hands into his pocket, staring- as Seokjin started his new car- quickly leaving the restaurant. Seokjin held his phone close to his mouth, “Hey Siri, play despacito.”

Seokjin pulled into his driveway, parking his new car in the driveway. He left his car, going into his house. Seokjin slipped his phone into his pocket, wiping his hand over his mouth. He was late.

Seokjin threw off Taehyung’s crop top, letting it fall on the couch. Seokjin rushed up the stairs, putting on a hoodie. He checked his phone, hearing his front door open. Seokjin speeded down the stairs until he came to a stop staring at the man in his doorway.

“You’re here.” Seokjin smiled, quickly closing the space between them. He wrapped his arms around him, sighing.“I missed you.” Seokjin let out, “I’m sorry- I wanted to go have dinner with you but-” He moved Seokjin's head, taking hold of his face between his hands. He pressed his plump lips over Seokjin's lips. It silenced him. Calmed him. They both touched their foreheads,

“I get it.” He was smaller then Seokjin, but he was holding him tightly. “It’s fine. I understand Seokjin, I get it.” He pulled him closer, “I missed you. That's all that matter- we are together now,” Seokjin closed his eyes,

“I missed you too Jimin.”

Seokjin puckering his lips together,

“I think it looks good.” Seokjin tilts his head, “It wore well all day?” Seokjin tilted his head, “This is the second lipstick check.” Seokjin touched his lips. Oh, his lips- have stayed on but it feels like it’ll make his lips fall off. Seokjin smiled, “And I’ll see you at the end of the day for our final check-in.” Seokjin put down his phone. He was still working even while here- at comic con. Seokjin had just finished a few hours of meeting subscribers. He- was tired. So fucking tired. He was going to head back to his hotel room- to nap on the couch until it was dinner time. Then- he’d order something because he couldn’t be bothered to move. He took in a deep breath, before making his way to the lobby. He went to the elevator, checking his phone. Seokjin had to make a video in three days- and he still hadn’t finished filming- or editing. Seokjin heard the elevator ding-

“Ow…” Seokjin was pushed back- feeling his chest hot. He looked down at his shirt- it now being soaked, and brown.

“Oh, god.” A deep voice spoke up, the man moving forward, hands cautious not to touch Seokjin, but still worried. “Geez- I’m so sorry. I-I didn’t see you and-” He stopped speaking. “I’m sorry. Are you in pain-” His eyes grew large, “Holy shit- that was hot coffee-” He moved forward, pulling at Seokjin’s shirt. “I’m sorry- I’ll pay for your dry cleaning- and- and- I’m so sorry-” Seokjin was still a little- lost. He was tired, a bit dazed- because right now, there was definitely steaming hot coffee on him- but… the man in front of him- was cute. Very handsome. Seokjin pressed his lips together, moving his hands up.

“It’s fine.” Seokjin answered, “Really- it’s fine.” He looked away for a moment, “I’ll be fine.” Seokjin nodded, “Honestly,” He wasn’t good at the types of situations. By that he meant- speak with… such a handsome guy. He was… hot. Model type- Seokjin was currently wondering why he even bothered to stop to look at him- even if he had dropped coffee on him.

“Let me do something for you- for real- I am so sorry-” Seokjin shook his head,

“It’s fine,” He smiled- awkwardly. “Really- I-I… I just need to change-”

“I can pay for a new shirt-” Seokjin moved his hands up,

“It’s fine.” Seokjin reassured him, “It’s completely fine.” The man stared at him for a moment,

“I’m sorry.” Seokjin waved him off,

“It’s fine… I-I just have to go up and change.” He was a bit taken aback, “I’m gonna go now-”

“Seriously-” He shook his head, “Umm… Let me pay for your dry cleaning- or for a new shirt-” Seokjin shook his head,

“No. No- it’s fine-” He shook his head, reaching into his pocket, he handed Seokjin a card.

“That’s my assistant’s number. She’ll help you reach me- umm… Please, let me pay for your shirt. I’d feel so much better.” Seokjin pressed his eyes closed. He was just going to take the card- to end his persistent.

“Alright,” Seokjin agreed, the man nodded.

“Again, I’m so terribly sorry.” He spoke up. Seokjin shook his head,

“It’s fine.” Seokjin waved him off, as the man turned back. He was so handsome, his eyes- were so… so, insightful. Seokjin sighed, turning back to the elevator, going inside. The door closed in front of him. Seokjin stood back, letting his back touch the back of the elevator. He lifted the card in his hand. “Kim Taehyung?” Seokjin had heard that name. From where though?  He lifted his phone, typing it into Instagram. He was verified. Seokjin wasn’t surprised. He was definitely handsome enough. He was nice. Seokjin smiled, seemed very down to earth- very real.

Chapter 3: A Human Holidays

Notes:

How long can you last without your phone?

Chapter Text

There was something special about holidays on the internet. Specifically, that Christian godforsaken holiday. Christmas. It was so commercialized- for the entire month, Seokjin only did hauls on what to buy people. On makeup for events, and looking cute with his boyfriend. This kind of content was annoying. It required him to do so much- so much, he hated it. He pulled his legs closer to his chest. This time of the year, it required Seokjin to make a few choices… this being- choosing who to spend time with. His real boyfriend, Jimin- or his fake one Taehyung. Now, the answer may be obvious to most. Jimin. He was the person Seokjin liked- so of course, they should be together. No, no. That’s not how it worked. Christmas content was commercialized. They wanted the perfect couple- being perfect on Christmas. This meant- his fake boyfriend would triumph it all. In terms of money that is. Seokjin stared at the tree, unimpressed at the number of lights- and work it took for him to put up. He had set up all on his own. Jimin had to do his own channel’s work. Taehyung- was… he was doing something. Seokjin didn’t know- or really care. Whenever he came, he brought with him his entire posy of ‘friends’. Seokjin couldn’t stand them. So, for now- it was fine to be alone. Shopping was- annoying. Christmas had lost all meaning to Seokjin. It was just him buying people things- and them not appreciating it. So, Seokjin checked out during this time. He was usually at home during the holidays. Not with his parents- they wanted to be a big ol’ family- but this time of the year was… not what he’d like. He didn’t spend it with Taehyung- he spent it with his bros. Maybe he’d pop in, to take some… photos? Give Seokjin a necklace- or a ring, few kisses in a video or a snap. Something couples would do. Then, they’d pose in bed- or drinking chocolate- or playing in the snow, cuddling. Then he’d leave. That’s how it was supposed to be spent. But as of last year, his Taehyung’s mother- has invited Seokjin for their Christmas party. Seokjin- of course, went. It was nice. She- was very nice. Seokjin didn’t understand how- Taehyung could come from such a nice person. Seokjin decided early on, he’d stay home. Binge Netflix, watch the Mandalorian. Chill.

When the time came to pretend, he’d go. When the party for Taehyung’s family came- he’d go. And pretend. Until then, Seokjin was on vacation mode. He let out a deep sigh, the smell of cinnamon and spice running through his home. He closed his eyes-

Ding!

His phone went off. Seokjin bitterly opened his eyes. No. It was too early- it was only Christmas eve- there was no way someone was disturbing his peace. No, he slumped further into his seat. It was an illusion, Seokin had many times before thought he’d heard it his phone vibrate or make a sound- only for it to be false. This had to be one of those times. Others were spending time with their families- they didn’t want to disturb such a beauty on his-

Ding! Seokjin grumbled, sitting up. He ripped his phone up, staring at the messages. He stared at the name. He was taken aback. He was so sure it was Taehyung. He was ready to give him a piece of his mind for disturbing his peace so early during their holiday. But it wasn’t him. It was a friend. Seokjin checked his phone- staring at his message. He wanted to come over? To eat? Seokjin sighed. Couldn’t he- couldn’t he just… go somewhere else? Seokjin smiled a little, this wasn’t the worst thing possible. He could have Taehyung over.

The front door opened, Yoongi poking his head in.

“I’m here.” He called out,

“In the living room,” Seokjin responded. Yoongi followed the man’s voice, coming into the large living room. Yoongi paused, as he came upon the scene. Seokjin was laying in the couch more than on it, wrapped in many different blankets, feet spread on the table in front of him, as he stared up at Yoongi. “Hello.”

“Why is burrito speaking?” Yoongi asks, voice filled with literally all the discontent possible. He didn’t care- coming and taking the seat next to Seokjin.

“Where’s your boyfriend?” Seokjin turned his head to him,

“Which one?” Seokjin asked Yoongi nodded- almost saying fair enough.

“The one you always posting with.” Seokjin’s brows moved up,

“Oh. Taehyung.” He paused, “He’s… with his bros.”

“Oh. The vlogger- is doing common vlogger things, huh?” Seokjin nodded, “Then- does that mean your spending the holidays alone?” Seokjin nodded, smiling.

“I was.” He spoke a little angrily, “Until someone called me- asking for a meal.” Yoongi stared at him,

“Sorry- thought it’d be nice to see you.” Seokjin waved him off, chuckling a little. “So- no man?” Seokjin shrugged,

“I don’t know…” Seokjin picks up his phone, checking his Instagram.

Seokjin sneered a little, turning his head to face Yoongi. “He’s visiting a hospital.”

“Damn… you found yourself the holy christ of all.” Seokjin nodded, “He didn’t ask you to join?” Seokjin took in a deep breath,

“No.” Yoongi shakes his head,

“Fucked up man…” Yoongi sit’s back, “What are you going to be making me for breakfast- I want something good-” Yoongi stared back at Seokjin. “No.” He shakes his head, “It’s my day off Seokjin hyung-”

“I can use an old photo!” Yoongi looks up at his head. His hair was a bit muted- but the remnants of the past mint hair job still present.

“If you can find one that looks like this…” He grouched, “You have to make me what I ask for- alright?” Seokjin nodded,

“You got it!”

Now, Yoongi was a close friend of Seokjin. A real friend. He knew most of what was going on. Who Seokjin was actually with- and who was fake. Yoongi was his friend from college, Seokjin was in fact- the person who introduced him to Vine. He would make short videos- and blew the fuck up. After Vine died, he transitioned- and was now a Youtuber. He did a few types of videos. Yoongi rapped, he had a news podcast- with a mutual friend Namjoon- and he also, most famously- roasted kids on the internet. Now, yes- he was one of those people. He wasn’t that mean- no he was. He told them off. A number of times actually. He’d become a viral sensation. Seokjin couldn’t care. He was nice to have around- someone who didn’t require him to wear a full face- or change. Probably because both of them lived turtle-like lives.

Seokjin had made him his meal- by request. They both had sat down, speaking about their upcoming collabs.

“I’m probably going to do a video with Taehyung soon,”  Yoongi responded, “Since he’s insisting on collabing with Hoseok.” Seokjin knew Hoseok. It was Yoongi’s long term fiance. “Going to a haunted house. Staying the night and everything.” Seokjin pouted his lip,

“No one told me anything about that.” Yoongi sighed,

“I can guess. He doesn’t want you in a video with Hoseok- since you know…” Hoseok was the most trending Youtuber there was. He had a docu-series where he investigated all the conspiracies he thought were important. During his beauty community exposure a while back, Seokjin was involved a lot- because he knew Yoongi so well. Taehyung and Seokjin started to ‘date’ around that time. When Seokjin’s entire channel blew up. Hoseok had that power- to turn small channels, like Seokjin who at the time had- what a couple hundred thousand- to a million in a week. So, any collab with him- was big. Seokjin was sure- that this was planned- months in advance. “Want me to get you in on it?” Yoongi asked,

“No.” Seokjin shook his head, “I’ll handle it in a sec,” He pulled out his phone, typing quickly.

Seokjin stared at what he sent. Really? He was going to say no?

Seokjin sat back,

“He’s trying me.” He sighed, “He is the worst boyfriend EVER!” Yoongi stared at him,

“I can get you in on it-”

“I know that.” Seokjin clicked his tongue, “But he’s dating me. I need some benefits from this stupid relationship!” Seokjin shook his head, “I don’t like it when people try me Yoongi. I always have receipts.” Yoongi looked up from his bowl of food,

“You blackmailing him?” Seokjin looked up at him,

“I sure am.”

Seokjin didn’t even have to check the messages afterward. He won. Seokjin held a small smile on his lips, Yoongi shaking his head disapprovingly.

“Hyung?” Seokjin looked up to stare at him. “How long does this thing have to last?” Yoongi asked,

“What thing?” Seokjin murmured, taking up his phone and silencing it. Yoongi took in a deep breath,

“You- faking it.”

“Faking what Yoongi? All our lives are fake-”

“Just about.” He nods, “But- you and him… just seem bad.” That’s the best he could describe it? “He treats you like trash- and you blackmail him.” Yoongi looks down at his bowl, “Didn’t one of his sides call you a dumb slut?” Seokjin felt a familiar chill run down his body. “Even if you’re faking it- you don’t seem like you are on okay terms. I thought it was supposed to be… mutual you know? Not- this?”  Seokjin took in a deep breath,

“I know.” Seokjin responded, “He’s the worst…” He sighed, “I- I can’t stand him. When he so much as hugs me, I want to throw up.” Yoongi listened to him, “I don’t like him. Not one bit. He-he’s a horrible person.” Yoongi's brow moved up,

"If he's that bad-" He took in a deep breath, "Just break up already? You’re famous enough right? You can totally be fine without him." Seokjin stared at him as if he had just said the stupidest thing in the world.

“Listen-" Seokjin moved his hands up, "the only reason I’m with him-“ Seokjin's voice was rough, seeing the other man shake his head, “it’s for the ad revenue.” Yoongi let out a deep sigh,

“Then, he’s going to keep treating you like that.” Yoongi shook his head, “You deserve better-”

“I have better.” Seokjin responded, “Me and Jimin. That’s real.” Yoongi stared at him,

“But you’re still living a lie.” Seokjin smiled,

“Aren’t we all?” Yoongi pressed his lips together, “I know what I’m doing. When the time comes- me and Taehyung- we’ll be history. I’ll be with Jimin- and hopefully, our channels will be amazing together.” Yoongi stared at him,

“Your audience loves you with Taehyung. They force you to be with him. Do you think that’ll they’ll just let their little ship die like that when the time comes?” Yoongi shook his head, “I just want you to think about what you’re doing before… it’s too much.” Seokjin sighed,

“You worry too much,”

“I do.” Yoongi nodded, “Because I’d rather you break up now- and deal with a bit of hate- then go balls deep and can’t find a way out.” Seokjin rolled his eyes,

“I know what I’m doing,” Seokjin smiled, sitting back in his seat. “I promise.”

Christmas day, Seokjin woke up. He checked his feed. It was good. He was on the trending page, with his video on last-minute ideas for your boyfriend. He stayed in bed for about an hour, checking the rest of his socials. He sent out a quick tweet- telling his fans and the world how much he loved them and went off to get ready.

Taehyung got to his place- rather early. He was sitting on Seokjin’s couch, watching what was on Seokjin’s queue when Seokjin was finished getting ready.

“Oh? You’re early.” Seokjin remarked,

“You didn’t answer my text.” He barked back, “I had to come early to make sure you didn’t stand me up.” Seokjin looked over at him, sighing.

“Course I wouldn’t. I like your mom,” Seokjin smiled, “Did you get the pie I asked you pick up?”

“In your fridge.” Seokjin nodded,

“Good.” Seokjin moved to him, seeing him check his phone.

“I went to the hospital yesterday.”

“Ahhh…” Seokjin rolled his eyes, “Doing good to get more views?” He scoffed, “So much like you.”

“You’ve done it before too.” Seokjin stared at him,

“I at least asked you if you wanted to come.” He shook his head, “But here you are - doing new collabs- and going to help sick kids without me.” Taehyung shook his head,

“Whatever.” He waved Seokjin off, “Did you get me a present? A good one?” Seokjin stared at him.

“Of course I did.” He rolled his eyes, “I’ve told you about it for months now.” Taehyung turned his head back, staring at Seokjin.

“Are we going to take a photo? So, I can post that- I’m finally with you?” Seokjin paused,

“Yeah- they’ve been bugging me too...” He spoke lowly, “But let's make it quick. This jacket is pinching my waist..” Seokjin looked down at his outfit, “Does it fit me well?” Taehyung looked him over,

“Gained weight much?” Seokjin opened his mouth at his words, “You know I’m joking,” Taehyung retorted, “Come here- we have to look cute.” Seokjin folded his arms over his chest, “And bring that tray.”  Over where he was looking- where a tray of treats were, “Look nice right?” They posed, taking their photo.

Seokjin tilted his head,

"We look cute." Taehyung nodded,

"We do."

Seokjin and Taehyung- drove six hours to be at his mother’s. She had rented the cabin out- in the middle of nowhere. Now, it wasn’t a big deal. It was going to be amazing photos- and decorated amazingly. It was. The issue with being in the middle of nowhere was that the cell reception was nonexistent. Seokjin- and Taehyung both made their livelihoods off the internet, so you can imagine what withdrawal from such a thing would do. Some call it FOMO, the fear of missing out, Seokjin called it- the fear of being forgotten. He linked arms with Taehyung, his sweet voice already prepared,

“Did- did you send out one final message?” Taehyung looked down,

“I tweeted for us.” He sighed, “Now- until we go back… no using our phones, alright?” Seokjin let out a deep sigh,

“I mean… even if we wanted to-” He pulled up his phone, checking the bars. Not a single one. “I can’t even get a snap out.” Taehyung nodded,

“I know… makes me feel sick.” Seokjin slid his phone back into his pocket, looking over at the snowy embankment. “I know… I know… that would be such a cute photo.” Seokjin nodded,

“Imagine how many likes we would get if we rolled in it- and put a cute filter over it?” Seokjin sighed, “Why does your mom have her party in the middle of nowhere?” Taehyung sighs,

“She wants a human holiday.” He speaks lowly, “Which means- if there isn’t any signal- then we have to interact.” Seokjin rolls his eyes,

“That’s so dumb.” Taehyung nods along,

“Well, she’s taking our phones again.” They both walked up to the stoop, Taehyung moving forward and knocking on the front door. They both waited a moment, Seokjin curling closer to Taehyung’s side. The door opened, showing them Taehyung’s mother.

“Boys!” She called out, rushing them- she gave Taehyung a quick embrace and a large kiss over his forehead. Seokjin stood aside before she moved on to him. She kissed his forehead, hugging him- Seokjin moved the pie in hand over, trying to keep it safe. She smiled at him, “Ahh… look at you both, looking so handsome.” She looked over at the pie in Seokjin’s hands.

“We brought you pie-”

“Oh!” She moved her hand into the house, “Come in- come in-” She paused, “Wait! I’m sorry but I am going to have to ask for your phones.”

“Mom- can’t we just keep them- like… there is no wifi…” Taehyung pouted, “Right?” She shook her head,

“No. I don’t want anyone on technology. So, hand them over.” Taehyung sighed but pulled his phone out. He turned it off, handing it to his mother. She took it, looking over at Seokjin. Seokjin handed it to her, “Alright. Now, let’s go?” Both of them walked into the cabin- it being lit up amazingly. Seokjin bit the inside of his mouth. This would be a great photo.

“Taehyung!” Taehyung’s head moved up, seeing one of his family members call him. He turned to Seokjin,

“I’m going to go say hi to the family, wanna come?” Seokjin stared at him,

“Taehyung, go say hello to everyone,” His mother looked down at the pie in his hand, “I’ll take that- and you both can go say hello. Alright?” Seokjin opened his mouth- wanting to offer to help in the kitchen instead, but she didn’t take an answer- taking the pie and walking away. Seokjin looked up at Taehyung,

“Let’s go meet the family?” Seokjin was clinging to Taehyung- introducing himself to everyone. People complimented them, called them handsome- and cute. Seokjin was a bit… confused. It was odd, he was sitting in Taehyung’s lap- staring at his grandma. She was chattering with Taehyung.

“So, I was watching your new videos.” She gave them both a weary smile, “I love that you bought your boyfriend a new car my baby Tae.” She leaned back on the couch, “I watched your new video too Seokjinnie.” Seokjin had never been called that. “For makeup tips. I bought your new pallet.” Seokjin sat up a bit,

“You did?” He shook his head, “Why? You could have told Tae- and we could have gotten you the entire collection!” He told her. She shook her head,

“No. It was worth the money.” She closed her eyes, showing off the well-blended red hue, “I liked the colors.” She smiled, “This one's called worldwide.” Seokjin looked at Taehyung- a little annoyed he didn’t tell him that she watched his videos.

“What?” He asked, Seokjin turned back to her.

“I’ll get you the new collection. I’ll make Taehyung bring it back to you.” She smiled,

“You don’t have to sweetie.” He shook his head,

“Of course I do!” Seokjin told her, “If I had known- I would have brought you it today.” She gave Taehyung a big smile,

“I like him.” Taehyung nodded, sitting back in his seat,

“Me too.”

“Seokjin?” Taehyung’s aunt sat down next to her mother, smiling at him. “About those candles, you said you liked?”

“Taehyung? Sweetie?” His mother entered the room, “I ran out of vanilla, can you make a store run?” Taehyung nodded,

“Yeah- do you need anything else?” She tilted her head,

“More wine, and beer- some chips for the kids?” Taehyung nodded, patting Seokjin’s back. He stood up,

“Want to come with babe?” Seokjin nodded,

“Yeah-” He stood up, “Grandma, do you need anything?” She nodded,

“Can you get me some sweets. The kids like it when I slide it into their pockets.” Seokjin nods,

“Will do.” Taehyung dug into his pockets, before pausing.

“I’ll make you a list Taehyung. You don’t need your phone.” She said, before returning into the kitchen. Two of Taehyung’s younger cousin’s rushed into the living room, smiling brightly at Taehyung.

“Can we come too?” Taehyung took in a deep breath,

“I mean- yeah?” His mother returned, a list in her hand.

“Here you go,” She told him, “Get everything on the list…Oh!” She had her wallet in her hand, pulling out her card. She handed it to Taehyung-

“Mom, I don’t need your money-”

“How are you going to pay?” She asks him. Taehyung opens his mouth, She only slides it into his hand. “Buy the kids and grandma a gift.” She spoke up, before walking away. Seokjin giggled a little, Taehyung standing their for a moment. Seokjin put on his snow boots, two small boys looming over him.

“Hyung! Hyung!” One of them called to Seokjin,

“Yeah, Yeonjun?”

“Taehyung says go start the car!” He passed Seokjin the keys, “There you go,” Seokjin nodded, zipping his coat up. He went to the car, opening it up for the two kids. They slid in, both of them happily chirping. Seokjin started the car, sitting back in his seat. Now, being- in a place with kids you don’t know… was odd.

“Hyung? What did Taehyung get for Christmas?” Soobin asked, “Cause I got you something!” Seokjin turned his head back,

“What?” He nodded,

“I made it.” Seokjin smiled,

“Well- thank you…” The door to the driver’s seat opened and Taehyung sat inside.

“Okay, seatbelts.” Seokjin looked over at Taehyung,

“Do you know where you’re going?” Seokjin asked, Taehyung nodded.

“I tried to ask for my phone back- you know? For directions… She said I’d figure it out.” He sighed, “So, let’s go find some drug store- and hope they have vanilla.” They drove for half-an hour before they found the small shop they had passed earlier. Taehyung pulled in, parking before looking at the two children behind the car. “Listen here, the first one to find the vanilla- gets to choose the chips we’re getting, alright?” Both of them nodded before they both rushed out of the car. Seokjin turned to him,

“You lazy son of a bitch.” He shrugged,

“It gives them something to do, while I go look at wine.” The two of them got out, Seokjin going to Taehyung- both of them instantly linking hands. They walked into the store, Seokjin taking in a deep breath.

“Wow. This is such an array?” Seokjin looked around, “We are in yeehaw huh?” Taehyung looked up at him,

“I grew up around here.” Seokjin tilted his head,

“Really? I thought you were some kind of-“ he paused, “City e-boy?” He shook his head,

“Let’s get the drinks before the kids get the vanilla?” Seokjin and Taehyung walked back, grabbing a cart- pushing it as Seokjin looked around. He took some water- soda’s… juice. Taehyung only pointed at things he wanted. They got back to the alcohol, Seokjin picking out some beer- and Taehyung going to get the wine. Seokjin turned back to Taehyung, who seemed rather silent.

“You know…” Seokjin smiled, “A bottle of vodka would be good.” Taehyung stared at him.

“No.” He shook his head, “We are not doing that.” Seokjin stared at him,

“Why not? I can make a mean screwdriver!” Seokjin smiled,

“Uncle Seokjin!” Yeonjun rushed to his side, pulling on Seokjin’s shirt. Seokjin turned back to him, the boy holding a bottle of vanilla. “I found it!” Seokjin lowered himself a little, smiling.

“You did a good job.” Seokjin gushed, “Go pick out your chips.” Yeonjun handed it to Seokjin, who took it. He stood straight,

“You know?” Taehyung spoke up, “You don’t suck with kids.” Seokjin nodded,

“So? Vodka?”

They finished getting groceries, going to the front. They started to check out, Seokjin sliding a few candy bars as Taehyung looked away, Yeonjun was next to Seokjin, blabbering about everything. Taehyung was packing the groceries into bags, looking back at Seokjin.

“Babe- where is Soobin?” Seokjin looked around him,

“Holy shit-” He moved away, “Soobin-” He went to look through the aisles, going to the chip one- finding him. “Soobin- hey… we’re going.” He looked back at Seokjin, lip pouting. He wanted a bag of chips. Seokjin moved to grab his hand, taking hold of the bag of chips on the way. Seokjin tossed it on the counter. Taehyung turned to him, “I want them.” He told Taehyung. They had finished scanning their items, Taehyung coming to the counter. He pulled out his own card- swiping it.

“You two are so cute.” The older women at the counter told him, “You’re both cute daddies.” Seokjin leaned over the counter, smiling brightly.

“Thank you.” Taehyung tilted his head back, staring at him. Seokjin didn’t care, going and pushing the cart out. The two kids sat inside, Seokjin and Taehyung both loading the back with the groceries.

“Hey-” Seokjin asked, as he looked through the bags. “Aww...You got me the vodka?” Taehyung didn’t say a thing, going to go turn the car on. Seokjin went inside the car, smiling as he turned back to the two kids. “Y’all all set?”

After dinner was done, the family moved to the living room. Seokjin and Taehyung were back in the corner together, Seokjin tapping his hand on Taehyung’s arm.

“Imagine the likes we’re getting over a human holiday,” Taehyung whispered in his ear. “People will want to copy us.” Seokjin turned to face him,

“Yeah.” Seokjin smiled happily, “We can make a whole video telling people- what we did.”

“What are you two talking about over there?” Taehyung’s mother said as she brought in two drinks for them. “Looking all cute while watching movies together…” She handed them their drinks.

“Thanks,” Said to her. Taehyung leaned back on the couch,

“We were talking about the trip we’re taking next week.” His mom’s smile faded,

“You aren’t coming back for your birthday? I thought we were gonna celebrate it here?” Taehyung stared at her,

“No. I got a deal… I have to go. Sorry mom,” Seokjin looked back at Taehyung.

“Oh…” She sighed, “It’ll be alright. Just make sure you call me, okay?” Seokjin stared at him.

“I will.” She sighed, “I invited… your friends here.” She sat back in her chair, “I guess I will have to cancel.”

“Sorry mom,” She waved him off,

“It’s fine.” She stared at Seokjin, “You’ll be with him, right?” Seokjin nodded, “Alright. I just don’t want my baby to be alone.” Seokjin smiled at her,

“Seokjin- umm… I made gluten-free pie for you. I was wondering if that would be fine?” Seokjin tilted his head,

“Why?” He asked,

“I saw in one of your videos that you don’t eat anything with gluten so- grandma and I spent all day trying to make it… I’m not so sure it’s very good though.” Seokjin shook his head,

“That’s just for a video. It’s so-” He stops himself, “I’d love to try some.

Nightfall had come, and Taehyung was ready to head back. Seokjin was having fun, speaking with his uncle and his grandma. Taehyung was a bit pushy, whispering into Seokjin’s ear.

“I’m ready to go.” Seokjin turned his head back,

“In a bit. We are having such a nice conversation babe.” Taehyung sat back, folding his arms over his chest.

“So, Seokjin? How is your family?” Seokjin paused for a moment.

“They are probably-” He thought for a moment, “We don’t really celebrate,” Seokjin told them.

“Why?” Taehyung’s grandma asked,

“Oh… umm… we just- send each other money. Christmas isn’t that… big for us.” He told them, “It isn’t important you know?” They all looked at him as if he had spoken madness.

“Well,” Grandma moved forward, “Did you at least enjoy yourself?” Seokjin nodded,

“I did!” He told her, “Very much.” He nodded, “It was different- very different.” He smiled, “In a good way.” He placed a hand on Taehyung’s thigh. “Thank you for inviting me.”

“You’re family.” Taehyung’s mother told him, “It’s natural for you to be with us.” Seokjin stared at them, “Make sure you tell us what else you don’t celebrate!” Seokjin felt weird. Very odd. “We’ll do it for you.”

Finally, Seokjin and Taehyung were leaving. Seokjin hugged everyone again, Taehyung doing similar until they went to the front of the house. Taehyung’s mother was there- holding a shoebox. She handed it to them.

“Here are your phones.” She smiled, holding Taehyung’s chin. “I told you you’d both live.” She moved forward, hugging Taehyung. “Call me when you get home?”

“I will.” She let go of him, Seokjin hugging her.

“Ohh… my pretty boy. Have a nice new year- and don’t be a stranger!” She let him go, “I’ll see you both next year?” Seokjin nodded,

“You will.” With that they both moved through the snow, going to the car. Before Taehyung started the car- he took up his phone- a deep sigh ruunning out of his mouth as he watched it start up. Seokjin wondered if he should turn his on- when he looked up. Taehyung’s mother was watching them. His mother was waving them off, as they pulled away. Seokjin slid lower in his seat.

“You’re lucky.” Taehyung’s voice rang, “Your parents aren’t embarrassing.” Seokjin looked over at him,

“I’d rather have my parents embarrass me then to not even get a call.” Seokjin reached for the shoe box with his phone, pausing. “I’m not posting anything for the rest of the day,” Seokjin told him. He thought for a moment before he asked him, “Did you plan it so that you’d be gone for your birthday?”

“So what of it?”

“You knew she was planning something.” Seokjin stared at him, “That she called all your friends-”

“Yeah,” He nodded, “Jimin told me. So- I don’t have to live through not having my phone for that day.” Seokjin stopped as he heard his name. “Besides, Jimin is coming on the trip- so get over it.” Seokjin sat back in his seat.

“You’re insufferable.” Seokjin closed his eyes, “And so are your friends.” Taehyung laughed a little,

“You hate everything.” Taehyung told him, “If you get to hang out with your best friend- then so do I.” Seokjin looked back at him,

“Yup.”’

Taehyung parked outside of Seokjin’s house.

“Goodnight.” Seokjin opened the box, his phone at the top. He took it, getting out of the car. Seokjin closed it, walking back to his home. He went inside, the place silent. Seokjin kicked off his shoes, thinking for a moment. He dropped the shoebox on the counter where he kept his keys. Seokjin started to take off the layers, hanging it before going to the restroom. He started to wash his face, taking off layers. He finished up, going upstairs to his room. He slid into his bed, taking in a deep breath. Seokjin was a liar. He was. Lied to himself a lot. That things were fine- and normal when… everything was always on the tipping edge. Seokjin was sleeping with Jimin. Taehyung’s best friend. He stared up, before getting up. He went downstairs and took up the shoe box. He went back upstairs and laid in bed- turning his phone on. The light almost blinded him, but the feeling in his stomach subsided.

Chapter 4: Star

Chapter Text

Being on the trending page was everyone’s dream. A dream Seokjin lived every fucking week. Yeah, he did. Makeup was popular. What was even more popular? Dating another person who was internet famous. Now, did Seokjin? Yes.

Was it easy on his life? Depends. On? Was he around.

Seokjin didn’t like his ‘boyfriend’. There were reasons. First, he was an asshole.

“Seokjin. Did you set up the camera yet? I have another thing to do in a bit,” Seokjin turned his head back. He had been working on the lighting for the better part of the morning. It just didn’t look right. He needed him and Taehyung to look perfect. Yes. They had to. Because they had to compete with other good looking people- and dogs. How the fuck does one compete with those things? The internet has to either choose between them and a puppy. Seokjin wouldn’t even hesitate to choose the dog. “SEOKJIN!” Seokjin turned his head back,

“Listen here- I got to make sure it’s good. If we aren’t on the trending page- then there is no point in doing this at all.” Taehyung’s brow moved up,

“Look- Jimin said he wanted to film with me at-” He pulled up his phone, “At 6- so can we speed this up?” Seokjin turned his head back,

“Who’s going to get you more views? Jimin- or me?” Taehyung slid his phone back into his pocket, staring at Seokjin.

“Hurry up. I’m gonna go outside to vape.” Seokjin rolls his eyes,

“Don’t snap that- you know how these fucking people take that.” Taehyung rolled his eyes,

“I won’t get caught. Order food. I’m starving.”

“I made-”

“I don’t want any of that gluten-free, vegan, five free- just order me a burger? Okay?” Seokjin looked back,

“Hey-” Seokjin called back, seeing him pause- Juul in hand. He stares at Seokjin, “Nothing.” He shakes his head, “Nothing.” Taehyung rolls his eyes, before walking away. Now, Seokjin hasn’t felt real- in so long. Not because of the makeup or because of his fake relationship. No. It was that and so much more.

Yoongi’s words had stayed in his head. How long? How long does this fame last? How long does he have to pretend to be with Taehyung? Seokjin sighed, continuing to fix his settings.

“Hello, my lovelies!” He moved his hand up, blowing a  kiss, “Welcome back to my channel.” His smile grew larger, “I’ve been seeing this new trend going around. You know? That whole what my resolutions for 2020 are going to be.” Seokjin tilted his head, “I’ve given it some thought- about what I want to change and what I want different for the new year.” Seokjin smiled, “So- I made a list- and I want to share it to see the likelihood of me doing it.” Seokjin smiled, “But I don’t want to be the one waiting it on my own- so I invited someone.” He looked off to the side, Taehyung moving into the view, He sat down next to Seokjin. Seokjin hugged him, “My boyfriend! If you don’t know who he is- this is Taehyung from TaeLANDZ.” Seokjin turns to him, “Now,  you’re gonna rate the likelihood of me completing my new year’s resolution. You have to be honest alright?” Taehyung shook his head,

“But I have something to tell you.” Taehyung smiled, looking back at the camera. “If you watch my channel you probably know already- but he still doesn’t.” He turned back to Seokjin, “I need you to be in a good mood.” Seokjin crossed his arms,

“Well if you won’t tell me-we won’t know. But-” Seokjin turns his head back to the camera, “Let’s get onto the video!” Seokjin lifts the remote, shutting it off. “Okay, intro’s done.” Taehyung lifts his phone, Seokjin going to get the list on his table.

“You know… I booked a villa. So- we can pretend to share a room- but my boys might wanna stay with me.” Seokjin turned back,

“Your boys?” He shakes his head, “You mean Jimin?” Taehyung looked up from his phone, he narrowed his eyes to Seokjin.

“If he is? So what? Has nothing to do with you Seokjin.” Seokjin only smiled,

“No, it’s doesn’t. Go on, flirt with your boy.” Seokjin spoke up, “Get ready. We have to finish filming.” Seokjin tilted his head, “Put your phone down.” Seokjin moved back to the couch- turning his head to Taehyung- “You smell like fucking cotton candy.” Seokjin leaned his head onto Taehyung’s shoulder- pressing the play button. The small red light came on, and so did the act. Taehyung leaned closer, his arm wrapped around Seokjin’s waist.

“Okay, so- you’re gonna readout- and I say ya or nay?” Seokjin nodded,

“Basically. You have to be honest though-” Seokjin looked at Taehyung, lip pouting. “Promise?” Taehyung moved closer- and quickly pecked Seokjin’s lips.

“I promise.” Seokjin smiled, turning back to the camera.

“Alright. Let’s start.” Seokjin and he went through the list. All of it really boring. If he was going to diet, exercise, cook more, eat healthier and they would do more stuff together. All of it was annoyingly cute. Well, they tried. Then- came the news. “So, what was the news you wanted to talk about?” Seokjin asked, a big smile on his lips. Taehyung reached into his hoodie, taking out a small envelope. Seokjin only held in his breath, as Taehyung passed it to him. Seokjin tilted to his head, “For me?”

“Yup.” Seokjin took it- his hand grazing Taehyung. It was odd. To touch his skin, his hands cold. Seokjin took the envelope, tilting his head. He opened it- pulling out tickets.

“No!” Seokjin shook his head, looking up at him. “You didn’t!” Taehyung smiled, opening up his arms. Seokjin moved into them, letting out a sound of glee. Taehyung rocked with him in his arms,  “I love you!” Taehyung held him, before Seokjin turned back to the camera, “He got us tickets to go to Hawaii!” Seokjin smiled, “I am so… I am so happy!” Seokjin pulled up the tickets- showing the tickets. “Oh my god!” Taehyung chuckled pulling Seokjin into a hug. Seokjin could feel a vibration in his pocket, Taehyung leaning closer to him. Seokjin could hear him whisper.

“Press cut. The food is here,” Seokjin pressed the remote- and within the moment- Taehyung pushed Seokjin back. Seokjin sat back, biting down on his bottom lip as he stared off at the camera. Funny. The moment the camera was off, was the moment that the Taehyung that seemed perfect and dreamy was gone. Out was some asshole, who cared about his boys, views and how much Seokjin was a waste of his time. Seokjin lifted his phone, smiling as he stared at the last text he saw. It was Jimin. He was telling Seokjin he had managed to work out the villa. Good. The entire event would be the worst, without Jimin there. Taehyung- and Seokjin could only function when there was a camera around. When it was off and pointed away- their distaste for the presence of each other became utterly clear. Even now, “Are you gonna come eat? I ordered some breadsticks for you!” Seokjin turned his head back,

“I can’t have gluten.” Seokjin retorted, seeing Taehyung holding a large bag in his hand. Taehyung looked down, then back at him.

“Then drink water.” Seokjin rolled his eyes, “Or starve. Your choice.” With that Taehyung walked into his kitchen. Seokjin stood up, following behind him. Seokjin opened his fridge, peeking inside- and taking up a bottle of water. Taehyung stared at him from the island. “Why do you have like 20 different water bottles?” Seokjin turned his head back,

“The video is going to be posted while we are on the trip.” Seokjin answers, “What do you plan on doing?” Taehyung lowered his fork,

“I’m gonna film a vlog. The beach with my babe- and a birthday extravaganza?” Seokjin sighed,

“You planned it out already right? I don’t have the time or effort to make a huge birthday bash.” Taehyung nodded,

“Of course I did-” He takes in a deep breath, “It’s on a yacht. Invited all my friends.” Seokjin’s brow curved. Good. Jimin would be there. That’s all he needed. “Namjoon is hosting it- since it’s his boat.” Seokjin tilted his head,

“That plant guy? The one who’s catchphrase is I’ll trim your bushes?” Taehyung nodded,

“Bro had a boat. I’m going, so you have to too.” Seokjin stared up at him,

“I have your present. It’s more about when you want it.” Taehyung took a bit of his food. “So- the airport?” Taehyung nodded,

“Wear white. It’s gotta hold a theme.” Seokjin tilts his head,

“White? What for?” Taehyung sighed,

“When I’m filming the theme will be white. It’d be nice to see you in it.” Seokjin pressed his lips together. “So- have you hired an editor yet?” Seokjin shakes his head,

“I still do it. No one better to make sure you aren’t horrible then yourself.” Taehyung scoffs,

“You’d be surprised. I sometimes catch mistakes in your videos.” Seokjin shrugs, “What if you make a mistake- and don’t catch it? Could ruin your image?” Seokjin looked over at him,

“Does that scare you?” Seokjin smiled, leaving back in his seat. “That you’re going to ruin your image and people find out about-”

“Us?” He smirked, “The moment people find out about us being in a fake relationship- I think we’re both ruined.” Seokjin smiled,

“I thought about that too.” Taehyung looked up from his meal, “When this is all over- what the fuck are we going to do?” Seokjin sighed, “Cause this is all fake.”

“Isn’t everything?” Taehyung smiles, “I think worrying about it bad. Just go with it- if it ever happens- we’ll deal with it, right?” Seokjin looked over at him, smiling.

“You’re an ass.”

“Not so fucking swell to be around either.” He went back to eating, Seokjin staring at the counter. This was it. This was the fake relationship everyone wanted. How perfect were they?

Seokjin slipped on his hat. It flattened his hair- and honestly, he just didn’t feel like doing it. Besides, it was white. Frankly, the only white thing he was wearing. Why? Because Taehyung asked for him to wear white. Not how much white. So, was he wearing a denim shirt, with grey shorts? Yes. Did it look good? Of course. He touched up his makeup- and packed beforehand. All he had to do was wait for-

Bzz…

Seokjin looked down at his phone charging. It was Taehyung. He told him to start vlogging already. Seokjin pulled up his go-pro attaching it to his selfie stick. He pressed start,

“Okay, so it’s really early.” Seokjin smiled- “Taehyung just got to my house- and we’re about to go get some breakfast- and then we’re gonna head to the airport and go on our trip!” Seokjin smiled, quickly taking the camera- he went outside. As soon as he was out- on his driveway was Taehyung- Seokjin pointed the camera back at him. Taehyung hooped out of his car, running through the muggy wet weather to Seokjin. He quickly, took him by his side, kissing him. “Morning,” Seokjin spoke up, Taehyung grabbed his luggage,

“Morning baby,” Seokjin smiled, tilting his head. “I’m starving.” Seokjin got into the car, Taehyung hopping in. “Seokjin- babe- like where are we gonna eat?”

“Starbucks.” Seokjin pointed the camera into Taehyung’s face, “Please?” Taehyung sighed,

“You got it, babe.” Seokjin pressed the record button again, pausing it. He closed it, folding it on his lap. “Why aren’t you wearing all white?” Seokjin sat back, pulling up his phone. Seokjin glanced at Taehyung from the corner of his eyes.

“My hat is white.” Seokjin pointed up at his head, “Duh.” Seokjin went back to his phone. Taehyung sighed,

“Fuck,” Taehyung ran his hand through his hair, “You should have asked for Denny’s. I was craving pancakes.” Seokjin rolled his eyes, “But here you are- not wearing white like I asked and you want fucking coffee and not pancakes cause you’re allergic to the fucking world and I can’t have shit.” Seokjin turned to look at him, and without saying another word- Seokjin blew him a kiss. Taehyung scoffed, “Kiss my ass.”

Now, walking hand in hand with Taehyung was a thing. People stare. People love to stare- because Seokjin was fucking hot- and Taehyung was fucking daddy. Yup, they were hot, rich and on their way to fucking Hawaii. Seokjin was holding onto him,

“Hey,” Seokjin whispered into his ear, “I have two Xanax in my pocket- and let me tell you… I won’t have to look at you’re fucking face.” Taehyung squeezed his hand a bit tighter.

“I’ll send you 200 hundred right now for one.” Seokjin smiled, pressing a small peck on his cheek. “I’ll take that as a yes.”

“You bet.”

Seokjin wasn’t awake for the flight- and neither was his boyfriend. Seokjin was cuddling with his llama when he was shaken awake. Seokjin lifted his head, staring at the man.

“Unless this plane is going down- I have no reason to be awake,” Seokjin spoke lowly,

“We have to get out.” Seokjin looked up,

“I thought we only had to stop at Chicago-”

“We’re in Chicago. Get up.” Seokjin’s eyes opened, “Cm’on- I got us a place for the night. We got another flight in a few hours. Come on- get up.” Seokjin’s eyes squinted at Taehyung.

“I don’t wanna move.”

“Yeah-yeah, get up. We have to go.” Seokjin grunted but picked himself up- blankets and all. Seokjin rubbed his eyes, slowly following after Taehyung. They walked inside, Seokjin mostly just following Taehyung’s back. He could hear him, turn on his camera. “So- we just landed, and we are laid off for a bit. Umm… about two hours- so me and my sleepy bae are going to go get something to eat- and then we are going to come back to the airport- and another ten hours and we’ll be there!” Taehyung slowed down, turning back to point his camera at Seokjin. Seokjin looked up,

“Stop filming. I don’t look cute.” Taehyung chuckled,

“You look beautiful.” Seokjin looked back at Taehyung, “Kiss?” Seokjin puckered his lips, sending him a kiss. “Love you.”

“Uhu,” Seokjin responded. And just like that- he turned off his camera. Taehyung sighed,

“Hey- let’s get something to eat- alright?” Seokjin slipped his hands into his pockets, “And then we’ll come back- and you get more sleep- alright?”

Both of them never had much in common. Seokjin didn’t need to hear about what cool and exhilarating things he was going to do, Seokjin rather caring about how his popularity could grow- and what he could achieve. Taehyung, on the other hand, was an attention-starved man. He needed everyone to compliment him- to know what he’d done. They seemed like perfect opposites but in reality- it’s just that Seokjin and Taehyung aren’t supposed to be together. It was cut and fucking simple.

“Hey- that new photo I posted. Trending.” Seokjin looked up from his phone, seeing Taehyung doing the same- fork in hand, eyes running down his phone. “Did you post anything?”

“Yeah,” Seokjin nodded, “I didn’t tag it with you though… don’t wanna give it away that we’re already here together… you know since my video comes out later?” Seokjin looked up,

“Did you already mention me?” Taehyung nodded,

“Of course I did. My parties is tomorrow- people expect me to be with you.” Seokjin sighed, “The boys are getting there after us. So we have a few hours to film the room tour- and then go get a pre-birthday dinner. Alright?” Seokjin stared up at him,

“Do I get to pick my outfit- or do you have something planned?” Taehyung nodded,

“Of course I did.” He pressed his lips together, “I ordered it ahead of time-”

“For tonight? Or for tomorrow?”

“Both.” He smiled, “Just make sure to look natural. No glitter- or anything-”

“What’s the point in dating me then? If I can’t wear fucking glitter-” Seokjin pauses, remembering. They aren’t alone. They are in public- and even speaking about this was a risk. “Sorry.” Seokjin smiled, “Babe- what I was saying is that I will do it for you.” Taehyung stared at Seokjin.

“Good. Just keep that attitude through this trip.” Seokjin nodded, bringing up his phone.

“Hey- world war three?”

“Yeah, I heard about it too.” He looked up, “You’ll cute when you have to go.” Seokjin’s brow moved up,

“Yeah.” Seokjin nodded, “I’ll look cute.”

The second flight was a lot more memorable, mostly because Seokjin was awake for it. He listened to music, all the while photoshopping pictures- and readying them for posts. Taehyung was next to him, for the first two hours- he didn’t move. Seokjin didn’t even know if he was alive. During hour 5 is when he woke up and stared at his phone,

“Seokjin?” Seokjin turned his head up,

“Uhu?”

“Did you post your video?” Seokjin nodded,

“Yeah- after lunch. Why?” Taehyung nodded, before lifting his phone. He read it for a minute, before looking back at Seokjin.

“Are we trending?” Seokjin nodded,

“Yeah- we are.” Taehyung nodded, before going back to being on his phone. Seokjin thought it was a little… odd. Taehyung wasn’t much for asking if his videos were trending. It was more about- how his videos did. Seokjin knew that’s what he was like after all, more focused on his own then what it did for Seokjin.

“So… when’s your person coming?” Seokjin turned his head to face Taehyung. He was silently on his phone, typing away. Seokjin’s brow moved up,

“They didn’t want to come.” He never had intentions of asking anyone to come with him. He knew that Taehyung would bring Jimin all on his own. No need for him to intervene.

“What- why-”

“Maybe because they don’t want me strapped onto some other guy.” Seokjin moved his eyes to him, “Think about that?” Taehyung looked up from his phone.

“Never crossed my mind.” He shrugged, “Can’t handle being around the perfect fake boyfriend, right?” Seokjin looked around the area, and back at him.

“Don’t say that,” Seokjin whispered Taehyung rolled his eyes.

“Whatever.” He sank back in his seat, “Just make sure not to kill my vibe.” Seokjin stared at him. Sometimes he was bearable, other times- Taehyung was the most insufferable person ever.

Seokjin was clinging to Taehyung,

“And we arrived! What do you think babe!” Seokjin looked up at the camera.

“It’s hot.” He pressed his plump lips together, “Like… I’m sweating.” Taehyung turned his head back,

“Damn… you’re right. You’re so hot.” Seokjin rolled his eyes,

“Stop.” Seokjin pouted,

“Why?” Taehyung asked,

“You’re making me blush…” Seokjin answered, lowering his head, “So stop.” Taehyung didn’t miss a beat,

“Alright. We are going to head to the place- and Jinnie and I are gonna take a little nap. Eat and then look around- and then… Grab a yummy birthday dinner?” Seokjin snuggled closer to Taehyung,

“Uhu.” Seokjin held onto him, “I think today’s more of a rest day for you.” Seokjin looked up to him,

“Why?” Taehyung asked,

“Cause you always work so hard,” Seokjin got onto his toes, pressing a kiss on Taehyung’s cheek.

“That’s our check for now- me and the boyfriend we see you in a bit.”

Seokjin and Taehyung arrived at their villa, Seokjin dropping his bags.

“Can we do the whole! Omg! We’re here shit later?” Seokjin turned back to him, “I want to go shower and nap.” Taehyung nodded,

“Same.” Seokjin took in a deep breath,

“Where is my room?” Taehyung pointed back,

“It has one master. But the rooms are all pretty big tbh.” Seokjin nodded,

“You can have it. Just-” He looked back at him, “Give me the room the furthest from you.” Taehyung smiled,

“That one.” Taehyung pointed at it, “Don’t be a slut and bring around guys. If any of my boys catch you-”

“Leave me alone Taehyung,” Seokjin grabbed his bag- going to his room.

Seokjin was always worried about what the internet coming for him. Coming for him for no reason- and right now. It seemed like it was happening.

How? How did this happen?

Seokjin stared at his phone. W-who? How? Why was this happening?

“Seokjin- what the fuck is-” Seokjin looked up, Yoongi groggily entering his room. “You’re dating Kim Taehyung?” Seokjin stared at him.

“No-”

Ring!

Ring!

RRing! Seokjin stared at the phone,

“Answer that-”

“I don’t know the number- what if it’s a death threat or-” Seokjin held his phone out, Yoongi sighing and taking it up.

“Hello?” Yoongi stands back, his eyes staring at Seokjin. “You want to meet him?” Seokjin opens his mouth,

“Who is it?” Seokjin whispers, sitting up on his bed.

“Why? Why do you want to set up a meeting with him-” He paused, “Am I his manager? Of course, I am.” Yoongi bit the inside of his mouth, “Your client wants to see him? What for-” Yoongi looks back at Seokjin, “No.” He shook his head, “He will not.” Yoongi spoke into the phone, “Thanks for the call.” Yoongi hung up the phone. Seokjin’s mouth was opened as he stared at Yoongi.

“Wh-who was that.” Yoongi looked down at Seokjin,

“It was his manager.” Seokjin drew closer,

“What did they want?” Yoongi took in a deep breath,

“Nothing you want.” He nodded, “Trust me- just some asshole trying to get more views.” Seokjin’s brow moved up,

“How-”

“It was to discuss a…” Yoongi sighed, “Something-”

Ding!

Seokjin stared at Yoongi.

“Someones at the front door?” Seokjin sat up, taking hold of Yoongi’s arm, “Is Hoseok-”

“No.” Yoongi took in a deep breath- walking straight out of Seokjin’s room. Seokjin stared at where he stood- before standing up and following him out the door. He was in the living room seeing Yoongi at the door-

“Delivery from-” Yoongi cut him off,

“Kim Taehyung?” Yoongi asked as he looked down at the bouquet- large red roses all shaped into a heart. Seokjin smiled at the sight, “Yeah-yeah, take this all back.” Seokjin’s eyes grew large,

“What?” Seokjin rushed to the door, taking hold of Yoongi’s arm. “Why? They are beautiful-” Yoongi shoves the roses back,

“Take it back.” Seokjin shakes his head,

“No. No-” He moved forward, taking hold of the roses. “Thank you.” Seokjin looks back at Yoongi, “I love these.” Seokjin thanked the delivery man, closing the door. He smelled a rose, opening his eyes to face Yoongi.

“You just made a mistake. You should send those back.” Seokjin stared at him,

“What- why?” Seokjin smiled, “Kim Taehyung sent these to me-”

“Seokjin those aren’t from him. They’re from his manager.” Yoongi shook his head, “They make sure he’s trending and-” He took in a deep breath, “I don’t like how any of this is going.” Seokjin took in a deep breath, “Just- just send them back-”

“Why?” Seokjin asked, “There is even-” He fished out a note. Pulling it up. Seokjin’s smile grew large,

“Oh, my-” Yoongi shook his head,

“That-”

“He’s asking me out on a date!” Yoongi stared at him, “I can’t believe it!” Seokjin held it tighter to his chest, “Yoongi!”

Seokjin woke up, hearing a thud outside. He lifted his head, the room was awfully cold. He sat up, looking over at his phone. He got a snap from Jimin- telling him he was getting onto the next flight- and that he would be there in a few hours-

Knock!

Knock!

Knock!

Seokjin shook, his phone slipping to his lap.

“Wakey-wakey. We got to fucking go.” Taehyung’s voice was loud, Seokjin grunting a little. The door was opened, Taehyung holding up a hanger- with clothes attached to it. “You up?” Seokjin rubbed his eye,

“We’re getting dinner right?” Taehyung nods, “What after?”

“We can go to the club? But then-” He takes in a deep breath, “You’ll have to be clinging onto me the rest of the night.” He groins, “And I don’t want you- while I’m sober- to be on me.”

“Good thing we’d be somewhere where we’ll be drunk, right?” Taehyung sighs, “Listen- I’m going out. You can go with me- or I can go alone. I don’t care.” Seokjin shrugs, “How about it?”  Taehyung throws his clothes onto the bed.

“Get ready. The uber will be here soon.” Seokjin pulled his legs closer to his body. This is the start. The start of a play.

They had finished their dinner- many photos taken. It was their usual routine, kissing- and eating, and a lot of photos. People were in awe at them- at seeing them together. Why? Because two individuals who were both so rich- and handsome always gain eyes. They left soon after both tagging each other but also proceeded to take a few more photos in their car ride.

“Where do you wanna go?” Seokjin drew his eyes up,

“I googled a place.” He smiled, “Great ratings.” Seokjin lifted his phone, letting Taehyung see his phone. Taehyung smiled,

“This place is good.” Seokjin nodded, “So- are you going to call? Let someone know we are going to be there?” Seokjin looked over at him.

“No. I want a night out.” He blinked hard, “We can take some on the uber back, alright?” Taehyung nodded.

Seokjin picked the most hyped club on google- and with little issue- they were allowed to go to the front of the line and then- taken inside by a manager. They were offered a table- with a few bottles of champagne. They both sat down,

“At least they’re treating us nice.” Seokjin nodded, “But you know they’ll want us to take some photos here- and post them online?” Seokjin cocked his head back.

“I know.” Taehyung pulled up his phone,

“Wanna just do it?” Seokjin sighed, nodding. He slung closer to Taehyung, both snapping photos. Their job was to take photos. Lots of photos. When they finished, Taehyung started to make a post. Seokjin moving to crack open one of the complimentary bottles. He served himself- and Taehyung. Seokjin was sipping away, his eyes scanning the dancefloor. This wasn’t usually the kind of place Seokjin inhabited. Why? He was homebody. He edited, drank wine- and watched obscure reality tv from his home. Well- he spoke to a camera most of his day. Most celebrities actually did. Seokjin looked over to his partner. Taehyung never seemed fazed to be in such a place. Another great polar difference between them.

Within a little bit of time- Seokjin had drank through a bottle- all on his own. Taehyung at his side was drinking something he had made- Seokjin drinking the free booze. Seokjin was on his phone now, drinking- quickly. Yes, he was trying to get drunk. They always just held each other- until one was drunk enough to remember that they were with each other.  Taehyung wrapped his arm around Seokjin, sipping on his drink.

“Are we going to dance?” Taehyung turned his head to Seokjin,

“You want to?” Seokjin took in a deep breath,

“Yeah.” Leisurely, Taehyung stood up- helping Seokjin stand. They both moved to the dance floor, his hand holding onto him tightly. People around them were tightly pressed against each other- just rubbing up on them. Seokjin pulled closer to Taehyung, smiling up at him. Taehyung was a bad boyfriend. Horrible. One thing he was good at- was dancing. He wrapped his arms over Seokjin, moving him closer to his body. The lights around them blared Seokjin’s vision. It wasn’t so bad. He couldn’t really even see his face. Seokjin could feel his body, Taehyung’s broad body, pressed against him. It was sweaty. Taehyung’s jacket was a bit painful, rubbing against Seokjin’s hands. Seokjin felt Taehyung’s arms moved down Seokjin- holding his waist. Seokjin was used to letting him touch him, even if it made him want to vomit- Seokjin allowed it. They were in public- of course, he could have his hands- Seokjin felt Taehyung’s hand move up his spine. Seokjin took in a deep breath, scooting closer to the man’s body. Taehyung was pressed against Seokjin. His body was firm over Taehyung, Taehyung smiling lightly. A smirk, pressed over his lips, as his hands jolted against Seokjin- pulling his hips- and showing him how to sway- his hands guiding him. It was a bit weird. Sure, they were always close- kissing, and together. However, this was a new sensation. Seokjin could feel the rough fabric of Taehyung's pants on his. Friction was a thing, and they were pressed together. The light around them hovered overhead, vision barely present. Taehyung spoke into Seokjin’s ear,

“You look hot.” Seokjin smiled, his own hands wrapping around Taehyung.

“I know.” Seokjin dipped his head into the crook of Taehyung’s neck, taking in a deep breath. Maybe it was the liquor- maybe it was just the amount of weariness that was over his body. Seokjin pressed a kiss on Taehyung’s neck. Taehyung stilled at the kiss. Seokjin’s mouth opened- as he was again-

Taehyung pushed back Seokjin. Seokjin was shocked, Taehyung’s eyes large as he moved his hand up to his neck- keeping a hand on it as if Seokjin had bitten him.

“What’s wrong with you?” Seokjin opened his mouth, Taehyung shaking his head- leaving Seokjin on the dancefloor.

Now, Seokjin and Taehyung- had never had boundaries. What had Seokjin done? He stayed there alone, staring at his back- move through the bundles of people to get away from Seokjin.

Some time had passed, Seokjin- finally spotting Taehyung. He- hadn’t left Seokjin in a foreign club as he had thought initially. Seokjin decided not to dwell on it. He moved to the bar, taking a seat. Blaring music was going on in the background- Seokjin turning on a stool to see Taehyung, a small number of women were around him. Good. If they were around him- Seokjin wasn’t one to deal with it. Deal with anything.

“Cutiepie.” Seokjin pressed his lips together as he stared at the man ahead of him.

“Your drink.” Seokjin smiled, seeing the bartender come- handed him his drink. “You’re a pretty one aren’t you?” Seokjin tilts his head at the bartender,

“Really?”

“You don’t know?” He was more than anything shouting- just to be heard, Seokjin shook his head.

“No. I know…” He leaned forward, “But it never gets old hearing it.” Seokjin smiled at the man, “So, do you flirt with every handsome guy you know?” Seokjin bit down on his lips, “Huh?”

“Only when they look as good as you.” His brow moved up, “So- I know a handsome man like you came here alone?” Seokjin cracked a smile,

“Alone?” Seokjin leaned closer, “Of course I came by myself.” Seokjin took the glass, drinking it.

“Well…” The bartender smiled, “For tonight- I’m sure you won’t go home alone.” Seokjin lowered his drink, smiling.

“Oh?” Seokjin’s brow moved up, “Really-”

“Seokjin.” Taehyung took hold of Seokjin’s arm. Seokjin looked up, staring at the man.

“What-” Taehyung turned his head to the bartender.

“We’re closing the tab.” He stared at the man, “My boyfriend and I are going home.” Seokjin opened his mouth, turning his head to Taehyung-

“Hey-”

“Shut up.” He pulled Seokjin to his feet, moving to the counter. Taehyung was handed back his card, and without looking- he took it. Taehyung was holding onto Seokjin’s arm- practically dragging him out of the club. Outside- Seokjin broke free of his iron grip, stumbling back.

“Let go of me!” Seokjin’s feet dragged on the ground, his eyes loopy. “What are doing blowing up my spot-” Taehyung’s eyes grew large- lowering his phone he rushed to Seokjin’s face.

“You were eye-fucking that man! You don’t do that in public- you fucking slut.” Seokjin could smell the alcohol in his breath. Now, Taehyung- call it what you would- never spoke poorly to him. He ignored him. He would avoid him. Never has he spoken to him like this. Never. “Do you think that’s funny- you could have been seen-”

“No one was going to see me!” Seokjin shouted back at him, “So- don’t go calling me-” Seokjin clenched his jaw. “Fuck you,” Seokjin said lowly. Taehyung drew closer,

“What-”

“Fuck you.” Seokjin said it louder, “Don’t ever call me that again- or I’ll break this whole thing off.” Seokjin pushed him back, walking down the sidewalk. Taehyung was bewildered at the sight,

“WHERE THE FUCK ARE YOU GOING?!” Seokjin stuck his hand in the air, flipping him off.

“Away from you!”

Midnight had come. Seokjin laid in bed, wrapped around his blankets. His buzz was still strong, so strong his eyes were barely able to stay open. One thing was in his mind. Jimin wasn’t here yet. His flight was delayed due to storms- and he wasn’t getting here until later the next day. So- again, once a fucking again Seokjin would be alone with Taehyung. Alone with that man who spoke to him like trash. Seokjin drew up his phone, staring at his page. Being pretentious- and a real snob, his page looks amazing. With him wrapped on Taehyung. They were molded just right- how good their internet personalities seemed to fit. A real puzzle piece. If only that was what he was like in real life. Perfect. No fucking Gmo’s, no carbs, no caffeine- no love, no real emotions. All filtered, all face tuned. Perfect. Seokjin was here to say it. Here to think it. No. He was not going to end it. Ad revenue- filming a we broke up video. All of it was not as profitable as they were now. Together. They wanted them to be together. That’s what they had to stay. Seokjin would rather be fucking hit over the head with a brick. Even if the person he was with- was a worthless ass. The more Seokjin was with him- the more the facade flaked away, the more it became visible. This was all a lie. All of it.

Every photo.

Every snap.

Even those fuking TikToks they filmed kissing. It was all for show. A show that ran through his life.

“Fuck the internet.”

Chapter 5: Devil

Chapter Text

Imagine. Having to smile through all your pain. Through all your hatred. Even then, you wouldn't understand Seokjin's life.

Filming from the time you wake up to the time you go to sleep. That was the life of a vlogger. Now, was Seokjin a vlogger? No. That was a lifestyle he didn’t want. Who had it, however? His boyfriend. Well, his fake boyfriend.

“Hey guys, so me and Jinnie- are gonna get ready- and go out for a nice bday celebration- and then go out for a little night out!” Taehyung grabbed Seokjin, pulling him closer. Seokjin lifted his head, staring at his go pro. “You ready babe?” Seokjin nodded, puckering his lips. Taehyung let out a small sigh, moving forward, and pressing a kiss on him. Taehyung turned off the camera, lowering it. “You ready yet?” Seokjin groaned,

“No. I wasn’t ready when you came in- and started filming, and I’m not done now either.” Taehyung sighed, pulling out his Juul from his pocket, taking a hit. Seokjin turned to stare at him. “Ew. Do that outside, would you?”

“Then finish your makeup in the car?” Seokjin took up his lip gloss, “Hurry up- I’m gonna go wait in the living room.” Seokjin’s eyes followed him out of the door, cleaning up his brows, before starting to put on lip gloss.

Taehyung looked up from his phone, hearing Seokjin’s boots tapping on the ground. He looked up, the man not wearing the outfit Taehyung had picked out for him.

“Finally.” Taehyung let out, standing up- he slid his phone into his pocket. “Come on, the cars outside.” Taehyung started for the door, Seokjin following behind, typing away at his phone. “I spoke with the boys.”

“Great,” Seokjin retorted,

“Yeah,” Taehyung ignored his sarcasm, “They are delayed. They said we should just head to the party without them.” Seokjin took in a deep breath, and without another word- went to the door to the passenger seat. Taehyung was driving then. Taehyung got into the car, Seokjin already facing away from him. He was so sure, that if he wasn’t going somewhere where they needed to be together, he would be seated in the backseat- as far- as humanly possible from each other but the party they had to attend told them otherwise.

You see, Taehyung… knew when he was being an asshole. Knew when he said something wrong- and he could guess what he had done to make the other man angry. He scratched his head, “Seokjin?” The man didn’t answer him at all, Taehyung lowered the volume of the music. He leaned back in his seat, “Seokjin? Can we speak?” Seokjin’s eyes moved his eyes to the side, a sliver of his eyes, darted at his face.

“You are speaking.” Taehyung gripped his steering wheel tighter. “What?” Taehyung let out a deep breath,

“Look… About last night-” Seokjin cocked his head fully, wanting Taehyung to mess up- so that he could possibly just wack him. “I was drunk.”

“So?” Seokjin’s brow moved up,

“I didn’t mean to… push you off of me when you-” He tilted his head, “My neck…” Seokjin was silent. Taehyung couldn’t figure out why, he turned his head back to him- his face reading something that let Taehyung know that he had not gotten what he thought correct. “What?”

“For real?” Seokjin shook his head, “For real?!” Taehyung was confused,

“Yeah- what about it-”

“You took me away from someone I was speaking with-” Seokjin seemed to sit straighter in his seat, “YOU CALLED ME A WHORE!” Taehyung turned his head to him, mouth wide open in shock.

“No, I did not.” Seokjin’s eyes flashed red, “I called you a slut. A much- different thing.” Seokjin looks like he’s about to slap Taehyung, “What it is! A whore does it for money-”

“Fuck you.” Seokjin crossed his arms, slumping back in his seat- eyes fixed on the outside.

“Listen, I was drunk Seokjin… I didn’t mean a word of what I said-” Seokjin didn’t say anything back. “I’m sorry. I am.” The car ride was silent.

They arrived at the parking lot, the smell of salt was so clear through the air. Taehyung could really go for a beer with just this scent alone. He turned his head back to Seokjin- the man already having thrown off his seatbelt and just as Taehyung was going to speak, he opened the door. He slammed it shut, Taehyung jumping in his seat.

“Alright… he’s going to be mad for a long while…” He nodded to himself, before opening his car door. If the scent was strong in the car before, now it was soaking up the air. The ocean breeze rushed them, pushing his hair back. Taehyung smiled, seeing Seokjin lift the go pro. He positioned it just right, catching the ocean lapping at the sand below. Taehyung saw him filming from the car, he walked to him, slowly- in case- you know… he swung it at his face. Taehyung approached the fence before the stairs to the dock, right alongside Seokjin.

“The beach is so pretty.” Seokjin smiled a little, his lips curling up. “It’s so beautiful.” Taehyung stared at Seokjin, the man’s eyes closing as he heard the rocking of the waves. It was so silent- until it wasn’t. The music started up. Seokjin’s eyes slowly opening. They both seemed to remember. This wasn’t a relaxation trip, they were going to an event. Sure, they could dress casually, which Taehyung was. Shorts, a small shirt- but others with different content were dressed to the nines. Seokjin was, however, a ten right now. His shorts were small and cut lower than Taehyung’s. His shirt was a large and flimsy shirt hanging off of him more than anything, exposing one of his shoulders. A thin, white cardigan covered his arms. His hair was combed messily, but intentionally. His eye makeup was peachy- matching his plump lips- the thing that brought so much more attention to his eyes- was the Swarovski that lined the crease of his eyes, the pink tint to them, glimmering in the sunlight. Taehyung- would have never asked him to wear such a thing, his natural beauty was always Taehyung’s favorite- but… this look wasn’t bad either.

“The music started… wanna head down to the deck yet? Or should we give it some time- so that you can film?” Seokjin didn’t say a word to him, taking in a deep breath. He seemed to know in his mind why they were there. Exposure to their false relationship. This was Taehyung’s birthday party- he was sure the people were waiting for them. Taehyung was always the life of the party, and his boyfriend too. The beauty guru who had it all, who had him. Taehyung felt his phone vibrate in his pocket, seeing Seokjin still preoccupied with his video, Taehyung moved up his phone. His eyes only scanned the message, before he slipped it back into his pocket. “Seokjin?” The man only grunted, Taehyung now understanding sounds were the best he was going to get. “I’m going to go… I have to run to the store- pick something up for… the party.” Seokjin turned his head back to him.

“Why? It was all already planned?” Taehyung stared at him for a moment, “Why would you go pick something up?” Taehyung sighed,

“I forgot something back at the villa okay? Can you wait here or what?” Seokjin looked around for a moment,

“I don’t know…” He sighed, “I’ve-I’ve never been here before.” Taehyung stayed silent, before pointing back at the boat.

“After you’re done filming- go on the boat. The party should be lit by then- and then I’ll be back by then, I’m sure of it.” Seokjin stared at his face.

“You promise?” Taehyung rolled his eyes,

“Yes, I swear it, alright?” He moved his hand up, before quickly going back to his car. Inside the car, he saw Seokjin, scratch the back of his head. The man seemed so clueless without him. Taehyung knew Seokjin wasn’t a crowd type man, his best friend was Min Yoongi after all. That man loathed other humans. No surprise that Seokjin would be the same type of way. Still, Taehyung had more pressing matters than to worry if his pretend boyfriend would be alright.

Seokjin had filmed the ocean for the most part well over an hour. Taehyung said he would be right back, in no time. Seokjin knew that man had poor management of time but seriously. He lifted his phone. It was already half-past six. Seokjin took in a deep breath, looking back at the parking lot. He didn’t see his car- so there was no way he just… did he maybe think Seokjin was already at the party? Seokjin looked out, the yacht was still docked so no. There was no way. Still, he should listen to what Taehyung told him. Seokjin turned off his camera, lowering the selfie stick. He sighed, knowing he would have to go down there. He stepped down the stairs slowly, as if not to cause any sound. He created onto the deck, seeing people standing outside- waiting to direct him into the boat. He looked behind him, hoping some other people would be boarding when he was too but, no. It seemed like he was alone. Seokjin made his way to the people,

“Hi-”

“Kim Seokjin?” Seokjin nodded, the man smiling straight at him. “Yes, you are a VIP guest. Your bar is at the top. Please, have a nice time.” Seokjin nodded, the people steering out his way. Seokjin just walked onto the boat. The music… wasn’t his taste. The lights on the inside were. Seokjin looked around for a moment, trying his best not seem… out of place. Still, he knew in his mind he had to pretend. Why? This was Taehyung’s kind of crowd. He had to fit in with these people, well… since he was dating the man they were here for. Seokjin found the drinks- deciding, being sober here wasn’t going to make him any more chatty. He took a few sips, before feeling his phone vibrate. His eyes lit up. Wow, that might have been one of the only times he was hoping it was Taehyung-

“Seokjin?” He turned his head back, seeing a familiar face. No, it wasn’t Taehyung.

“Namjoon right?” The man smiled at the recognition,

“Indeed I am,” His cheeks sunk in, showing off his two bright dimples, “What are you doing here? You’re our main guest’s boyfriend. You should be drinking champagne and eating shrimp directly off a man.” Seokjin cracked a smile, as he moved up his fingers. “Small.” He enlighted, both of them chuckling a little.

“I was headed up there… but- they were still serving drinks down here so…” He nodded,

“Yeah, in a bit this place will get filled up. But since the sun is setting soon- most of us wanted to watch it-” He turned his head around the room, brows lifted. “Where’s the man of the hour?” Seokjin knew it now. He was simply looking for Taehyung. And that big fat idiot wasn’t here. Was not only a liar but one that didn’t even try to make it back in time. Their villa was only a ten-minute drive- but no, this was making his life hard. Making him socialize with people who didn’t give a rats ass about him. Seokjin swallowed hard,

“He’s… He had to run an errand.” Like fucking hell he did. That asshole was probably doing something stupid, and unimportant, like always. Seokjin gave the man a sheepish smile, Namjoon only waving him off.

“It’s fine. I get how he is,” Namjoon looked over at Seokjin’s drink, brow lifted as he scoffed. “Strong man eh?” Seokjin looked down at the cup. It was a cocktail. A pink one that smelled like berries and tasted sweet enough for him to know he’d be running laps in the morning. Seokjin knew all that, but- this man was not just going to stand there and tease him for his selection of drinks. Seokjin got closer to his face, eyes steady.

“Toxic masculinity is the worst.” The man never wavered.

“That it is. But I know for a fact that that drink has more alcohol in it then-” He turns his head, “That beer.” He smiles, “And it tastes better,” He nods, “I would know, I made it.” Seokjin lifts the drinks.

“It’s good.”

“It should be.” He closes his eyes, “There is about… three pounds of jolly ranchers in that?” Seokjin’s eyes grew wide, and before he took a sip, he put the cup back down.

“I can’t have that.” Namjoon nods,

“Taehyung told me, that’s why I picked up some white claws and shelters for you. They’re upstairs.” Seokjin shrugged,

“Lead the way plant man,” Namjoon chuckled at the name,

“Is that what Taehyung calls me? Not bro?” Seokjin chuckled lightly, “He’s such a frat boy- I swear.” Seokjin nodded in agreeance,

“That he is.” Seokjin felt his phone vibrate again. It had to be Taehyung begging for forgiveness about being late. Whatever- Seokin rolled his eyes, he’d just ignore him until he got here. “So, what kind of plants do you own?” Namjoon smiled, turning his head to face Seokjin.

“I mean… I have them all at home.” He nodded, “But yes, I do take care of them.” He shrugged, “I’m not some zootuber who just hordes plants to show the world how cool they are being kept in my house.” He tilts his head, as they begin to walk up the stairs. “Why? Are you thinking about getting into them?”

“What-”

“I do have a bonsai that could use a new home?” Namjoon shook his head, chuckling. “Just messing with you,” He waved him off, “How’s the makeup world?” He lifted his brow, “Since… it’s so you know?”

“I get it.” Seokjin chuckled, “I thought you were dating that other beauty guru?” Namjoon shook his head,

“Dating is like belonging to someone- and I don’t partake in that type of behavior.” Seokjin stared at the man. Did he just tell Seokjin he was a playboy? “But I see you and your match are doing amazing together?” Seokjin cracked a smile, “The internet must be tear glad.” Seokjin stared at him for a moment. Namjoon seemed to feel his eyes on him, “I’m joking.” He playfully pushed Seokjin with his shoulder. “I know that Taehyung- never- never listens to what his comments and the internet tells him to do.” That was a complete lie. Seokjin knew that because he was an example of what the internet wanted.

“I know.” Namjoon nodded, “Umm… So, how are you-”

“You don’t have to do the whole creator talk.” Namjoon shook his head, “I do videos on plants, people ask if they can lick my titties. I also support the legalization of weed- so like… all the potheads love me.” Seokjin snickered lightly. “Ahh… The infamous beautiful man laughs!” Seokjin lowers his head for a moment,

“I’m infamous?” Namjoon nods,

“Taehyung rarely speaks about you like…” He shakes his head, “And when we ask- he gets so defensive of you- as we joke around about… you know- the beauty community. And he always says your not a joke like those people.” He smiles, “So we all assumed your just some mystical man who can’t even crack emotions… like-” He tilts his head, “I’ve watched a few of your videos… and you just seem perfect- but look at you- a perfect man can’t have such a corny laugh.” Seokjin’s smile faded, Namjoon knowing he must have offended Seokjin. “I mean it’s good. Your laugh is good! Means your human-” Namjoon lowers his head, “I’m not helping my case huh?” Seokjin shakes his head,

“No, not at all.” Seokjin stares at him for a moment, before he begins to chuckle. “I’m shitting you. I know my laugh is weird.” Seokjin tilted his head, “My fans don’t like it much so- you know… I cut it out. Also- my jokes. Makeup is makeup and they don’t want to get into anything else.” Namjoon nods,

“I’m glad you are human though. I can see why Taehyung would be all over you- pretty and can take a joke.” He nods, “Make more sense as to why he would try to keep you a secret.” Yeah, and not the total fact that Seokjin and Taehyung weren’t anything real. “So, what else do you do? What else is there to this amazing top beauty guru?” Seokjin tilted his head,

“Huh?”

“Besides the beauty guru life- what do you do?” Seokjin pressed his lips together,

“I own my own makeup line so… most of the time I’m working on that.” Seokjin sighed, “When I’m not… I’m with Taehyung- or just playing games.” Namjoon turned his head back,

“New series idea for you, I do my makeup while playing a horror game.” Seokjin smiled,

“Already taken.” Namjoon shakes his head,

“Beauty world is so hard,” Seokjin nods,

“It is.” They both come to the top of the yacht, a crowd of people dancing, some in the pool. They all seemed to be having a great time. “So? Are these all YouTubers?” Namjoon shook his head,

“No, then it would be work, Not a party.” He sighed, “And God only knows how much I hate working.” Namjoon pointed out at the pool. “They’re just friends of mine- and Taehyung.” He took a few steps forward, “Want me to grab you that seltzer?” Seokjin nods,

“Please?” Seokjin found a seat near the pool. His eyes were drawn to the people around him, the fresh scent of salt through the air. Seokjin leaned back in his seat, finally feeling relaxed.

Seokjin held his head high, Namjoon chuckling as he pointed back to the pool.

“Jackson!” Jackson pulled himself up from the poolside, coming over to sit on Namjoon’s lap. “Tell Hyung about that time you and I got stranded when we tried to pick up that plant from a dealer.” Jackson’s eyes grew large at that,

“Wait- what kind of plant?” Jackson looked around for a moment, “Na, umm… the truth is we have to find exotic plants and dealing is always rough- and we had finally found this- umm… Duvalia corderoyi right? And we had to go meet the plant guy- and we met him at this public park-”

“We should have sent my assistant I swear.” Namjoon shook his head, “Cause it was all types of off,” Seokjin chuckled, Jackson, joining him in laughing at Namjoon. He tipped his head back, feeling someone’s body. Seokjin paused. “Well hello there?” Namjoon was trying to keep his giggles down, “Nice of you to arrive?” Seokjin guessed who it was. Taehyung. Late as fuck. The sun was down already, and Seokjin was a couple of drinks in. He had made new friends so-

“Missed you, babe,” Seokjin retorted, a bit sarcastic before seeing the faces of the two men in front of him. Seokjin’s brow moved up confused. He turned his head back, his face growing pale. So, it wasn’t his fake boyfriend. It was his real one.

“Hey-”

“Oh, sorry… thought you were Taehyung.” Seokjin blinked, swallowing hard.

“Yeah no.” Jimin’s voice was a bit pinched at the end as he spoke. Namjoon sensed the awkwardness, laughing a little.

“Hey, Jimin- when did you get in?” Jimin turned his head up to Namjoon.

“A few hours ago… been calling Taehyung to come to pick me up at the airport only for him to be here at a party with his boyfriend.” Seokjin looked down,

“He’s not here buddy,” Jackson lets out, “We’ve been waiting for him to get here… since? Like six?” Jackson shook his head, “Left his boyfriend here and went to go run an errand.” Jackson rolled his eyes, “On his birthday.” Seokjin felt awkward. He didn’t know where his boyfriend was. He felt his stomach hurt, pressing his lips together.

“Yeah, where is he?” Namjoon asked,

“Ugh…” Seokjin pulled out his phone from his pocket. He had a few missed calls, along with a lot- and I mean a lot of text. Seokjin went to Taehyung’s number, “I’m gonna call him to see where he is,” Seokjin spoke to them, “I’ll be back in a minute.” Seokjin stood smiling at all of them. He slipped away, going downstairs. The phone was ringing. His phone was still on. Good. Seokjin was looking around- trying to find a quiet area. Without the blaring of music. He sighed, seeing a dark hallway. Seokjin walked to it, peeking into a door. There was a kitchen there. He tipped back a little, looking for some sort of closet or-

An arm wrapped around his body, hugging him tightly. He was just about to scream when he felt a hand cover his mouth. The body pressed on him made him shiver, and push forward.

“Shh…” His voice was low over the music. Seokjin could feel it rumble lowly. Seokjin knew this man then, he moved his hand back, Seokjin annoyed already.

“Taehyung- I’ve been calling you all fucking-” Seokjin turned back, seeing who it was. Jimin’s brow rose, eyes a bit glossy.

“Nice to see I’m in your mind.” Seokjin stared at him. Seokjin opened his mouth,

“Sorry,” He bit back a little, “I- I thought you were…” Seokjin shook his head, “I thought you were back there with Namjoon?” Jimin rolled his eyes,

“Told him I needed to go to the bathroom real quick,” Seokjin smiled a little, Jimin moving forward. He didn’t even let Seokjin answer, his lips pressed over his. Seokjin felt Jimin pull him by his waist, so close that he let out a little gasp. Jimin smirked through the kiss, Seokjin’s own hands cradled Jimin’s hair between his fingers. Now, the taste of Jimin- was as unique as anything. Alcohol, apples, and of course- ginger. Jimin held him close to his body, so close that Seokjin swears he might cry out. The blaring of the lights, the heavy music- it was all a turn on… but Seokjin’s mind seemed to come to a full halt. Seokjin pulled his head away, breaking their kiss. Jimin licked his teeth, confused as to why Seokjin would pull away.

“What’s wrong?” Jimin asked. Seokjin smiled at him, his hands grabbing his.

“Nothing!” Seokjin grew closer to him, “Nothing at all! Just-” He took in a deep breath, “We’re in public.” Seokjin reminded him, “We- me and you can’t just…” Seokjin lowered his head,

“I know,” Jimin smiled, “But it’s nice every once in a while.” Seokjin nodded, his breath was wispy- trying to regain strength in his body again.

“So…” Seokjin smiled a little, “Did Taehyung put you up to it? Because he sped back to the villa before I got back,” Jimin shook his head,

“I haven’t even gone to drop off my stuff babe,” Jimin shuffles back, placing his hand in his pockets. “I had to rent my own car since Taehyung wasn’t picking up his phone.” Seokjin stared at Jimin.

“What?” Jimin nods,

“Me and the boys drove here all on our own.” Seokjin cursed at hearing that.

“Fucking asshole dropped me off here and fucking left on his own.” Seokjin shook his head, pulling up his phone. He saw Taehyung’s number, he called again, lifting it to his ear. He heard one ring before it turned off. Seokjin’s mouth opened as he heard it. He looked back at his phone, ready to launch it across the room. “Fuck him!” Seokjin called, Jimin shaking his head.

“So…” Jimin smiled at him, “Know where that bathroom is babe?” Seokjin slid his phone into his pocket, nodding.

“Yeah- yeah,” Seokjin pressed his lips together, “I know where it is,”

Seokjin shuffled out of the restroom, tucking his shirt back into his shorts. He fixed his hand with his hair, Jimin walking out right after him.

“I swear to god Jimin- you need to stop-” Seokjin’s words came to a halt, as he saw the person in front of him.

“Seokjin hyung!” Namjoon called for him, “Just the man I was looking for!” Seokjin held a smile, Jimin stopping right behind him. “Jimin-” His brow moved up, “Did you ever find the restroom?” Jimin opened his mouth, before nodding.

“Yeah-” Jimin pointed back to where they had both just come from. “Imma go get a drink.” He smiled, “See ya upstairs,” Jimin moved away- leaving both of them there. Namjoon tilted his head,

“So- what are you doing here?” Seokjin opened his mouth,

“I was calling Taehyung-” Namjoon gave off a small chuckle, “He gets so busy- I’m sure he forgot to charge his phone, right?” Seokjin tried to give him his best smile. Namjoon looked puzzled at just what he had heard.

“Seokjin-” He lowered his head a little, “Taehyung’s upstairs. He got here half an hour ago.” Seokjin bit down on his bottom lip.

“Oh- makes sense… why I wasn’t getting through to his calls-”

“He’s been calling you since he got here. We needed you to bring out the cake.” Namjoon pointed back at the stairs, “He’s been asking where you were… Hell, we’ve been all looking for you.” Namjoon’s teeth clenched together, “Wanna head up there?” Seokjin stayed there for a moment before nodding.

“Yeah-yeah let’s go.” Seokjin let Namjoon lead the way, following after him. They came up to the top floor, everyone turning back to face him. Someone from behind him tugged his shirt. Seokjin turned around, a person holding a lit cake. Seokjin guessed it was Taehyung’s. The lady placed a cake in his hands, he held it before turning back to face everyone else. Camera’s were brought out, Seokjin a bit angry that Jimin had been so frisky- pulling at his well-groomed hair. Whatever, he put on his best smile, walking to Taehyung. The man was still on his phone before he looked up- to stare at Seokjin. He held a look in his eyes, one that told Seokjin he was upset. Seokjin didn’t bat a single lash, smiling straight past him- to Jimin. People started to sing to them, Seokjin creeping closer to Taehyung. Taehyung stood up. It seemed as if the world had turned to slow motion, Taehyung’s eyes fell onto Seokjin’s neck. Seokjin’s own eyes looking down at his wrinkled shirt. They both knew it. Knew what the other was up to- because of course, they did. A perfect couple for the ages. They both stood facing each other. Seokjin read what he said on his lips.

“I hate you.” Seokjin’s lips curled up,

“I hate you too.” With that, Taehyung blew out his candles. The music seemed to silence, as the cake was taken from Seokjin’s hands, into Namjoons. Taehyung faced him, Seokjin clenching his smile together. The world wasn’t right in their world. Nothing was right, but they both knew what right was supposed to look like. Taehyung took hold of the back of Seokjin’s neck, pulling him into his arms.

“Where the fuck did you get a hicky from?” Seokjin chuckled,

“Who sucked you off?” Seokjin said it was all the sass he could muster, before planting a kiss on his cheek. He moved back, Taehyung breaking the space between them. Taehyung’s lips were soft, over his raw and bitten puffy lips. Seokjin moved his own hand, taking hold of his arm. What photo finish.

Jimin had driven himself home. Taehyung apologizing coming up with some stupid lie to cover for the fact that he wasn’t there for him. Seokjin would never just ride with Jimin- especially since him and Taehyung’s other friends were with him. Taehyung was in the driver seat,

“So… who did you fuck on the boat?’ Seokjin scoffed,

“Who did you leave me for?” Seokjin tilted his head, “Needed some birthday head?” Seokjin folded his arms over his chest. “Or what? Did you run off to get some new footage for your stupid vlog?” Seokjin turned to him, “Because I agreed to not be left by your dumbass.” Seokjin turned his head to him, “Because guess who wait hours by himself while you didn’t even have the decency to answer your fucking phone while your fucking someone.” Seokjin chuckled a little, “And here I am? Expected to what- wait on your every fucking command?” Seokjin shook his head, “It doesn’t even matter-” Seokjin sighed, crossing his arms. “I kept my promise. I made you look perfect. I gave you all the content you need.”

Ding!

Seokjin heard his phone go off.

Ding!

Ding!

Likewise, Taehyung’s phone went off. He picked it up before the car came to a sudden halt. Seokjin was pushed forward in his seat, before turning to face him.

“What the fuck-” Seokjin heard his own phone go off, lifting he read.

Seokjin let out a gasp, his phone falling to his lap.

Chapter Text

“Hi, guys! Welcome back to my channel!” Seokjin’s smile was large as he held his place, “today- we have a meeting to attend…” He bit his upper lip, “So, I thought- how about trying on a new mascara?” Seokjin pressed the button on his camera, his smile quickly fading. Yoongi had been on a gaming session into the early morning, forcing Seokjin to have to listen to him- and some other Youtuber arguing. Whatever it was, it was a good video- Yoongi was a bit blunt, just always told it how it was. A good thing- that brought others a lot of joy. So, him playing with whoever was good.

“I made you breakfast,” Seokjin swung his head back to the door of his room. He and Yoongi have been roommates since their first year of college. Now, as seniors, they had gotten a small apartment. Seokjin was a beauty blogger. Yoongi was- well what Yoongi was. They both still had jobs, the whole influencer thing wasn’t going to pay the bills all on its own right? “Hoseok said he was going to come over later- to hang… out.” Seokjin caught the hint. Another night where he’d have no sleep.

“He spending the night?” Seokjin more than whined.

“Duh.” Yoongi smiled, “But- on the bright side- I’ll get to cook us up some dinner.” Seokjin stared at Yoongi.

“Okay.” His cooking was always good- and insta worthy. Yes, Yoongi’s steaks could compete with the ever-increasing gravitational ass pics. “I should be home tonight in time for dinner.” Yoongi’s brow moved up curiously,

“Why?” He asked, leaning on the door. “I thought you were off today?” Seokjin nodded,

“I am,” He told him, “But I have that-”

“Seokjin,” Yoongi shook his head, “Don’t tell me you’re actually going to go to that meeting?” He took a step into the room, “Hyung- you know what those type of meetings are- they tried to make Hoseok get with some-”

“I know.” Seokjin turned back to look at his mirror. He fixed his lashes as he looked away, “But this has to be different Yoongi- like… he sent me flowers-”

“His manager sent you flowers. That’s what those jerks do. They try to convince you to do dumb things with a few treats Hyung- it’s no good! I promise you that.” Seokjin sighed, before turning back to face Yoongi. Seokjin knew Yoongi. Yoongi was like his younger brother, the boy had black under his eyes- no not from eyeliner. His dark circles were always like that. His hair was messy, skin pale- from the lack of outside- anything. Seokjin can’t place the man outside during the day.  Seokjin knew the look on his face, it was worrying. He worried about Seokjin, worried about him dearly. “Hyung, please don’t go.” Seokjin hated seeing this man look like this. Hated seeing him sad. Seokjin let out a deep sigh,

“Yoongi,” Seokjin’s lips pulled to the side. “I know…” Seokjin let out a small groan, “But, I already agreed to meet with him-”

“So!” Yoongi let out, “It doesn’t matter- just-just-ugh…” He ran his hand through his hair, “Then just say no to whatever they offer you. Everything and anything.” Yoongi nodded, “Anything they offer to you- isn’t worth it Seokjin hyung, not worth it at all.” Seokjin bit the inside of his mouth,

“I understand Yoongi, I do. I won’t take a single thing they offer me.” Seokjin smiled at him, “Okay?” Yoongi nodded,

“Yeah, yeah- I’m good with that.” Seokjin’s phone dinged, him looking down at it. He turned his head upwards.

“Yoongi?” The man nodded, his brow moving up at the other man.

“Yeah?”

“Did- did you order me something?” Yoongi shook his head,

“No- I haven’t ordered anything-” Seokjin turned his head upwards, “Why?”

“Just got a package.” Yoongi shrugged,

“Maybe you ordered it when you got wine drunk again?” Seokjin paused for a moment, before nodding.

“Yeah, probably.” Seokjin waved him off, “I’ll pick it up when I get home.” Yoongi tilted his head,

“I’ll see you later then?” Yoongi asked Seokjin who only nodded- a small smile on his lips.

“Yeah-yeah-” Seokjin spoke slowly, “I’ll see you later.”

Seokjin was in his uber, on his phone- trying to make sure that he knew where he was off to. It was in a different area- from where Seokjin himself lived. It was a good half-hour trip before his driver came to a stop.

“We’re here.” Seokjin held his bag closer to his body. Have you ever been somewhere- where you knew you looked, felt, and were going to be looked at like you were out of place? Because that’s exactly how Seokjin was feeling. He took in a deep breath, before thanking the driver- and stepping out of the car. Seokjin stood outside of the car, and on the sidewalk. He was wearing a nice shirt- well… it was a Mario shirt. His pants were black skinny jeans- with vans. He was invited for lunch. So, Seokjin dressed- well how one would dress to have fucking lunch with another normal, human being not-

He closed his eyes. It was too late to turn back, and leave wasn’t it? He took in a deep breath, walking into the restaurant. Now, when he says eyes were on him- he means it. Eyes were all over him. Seokjin went to the host,

“Hello, I am supposed to meet someone here.” The man nodded, staring at the book in front of him.

“Of course, of course, may I have a name, sir?” The man looked up before he caught sight of Seokjin. His smile dissipated, “What’s the name under?”

“Kim.” Seokjin blinked, “Kim Taehyung.” The person nodded,

“Yes, right this way then,” The host moved from behind the counter- walking forward into the restaurant. Seokjin felt like an inconvenience to this person, following after him. Seokjin wrapped his arms around his chest, biting the inside of his mouth- as he caught stares from everyone as he walked in. It wasn’t the usual place he would frequent. Like, the food was expensive, and the people were criticizing him for what he looked like. He was brought to the back, a small, private table. Seokjin looked at the table before his entire demeanor lowered. The table was empty. So, maybe he got there - early? Seokjin took the seat, the waiter handing him a menu.

“Do you want to order yet?” Seokjin shook his head,

“No-I’m waiting for someone.” The waiter’s brows moved up, nodding.

“Okay, I’ll be back to see if you’re doing alright in a bit.” Seokjin nodded, the man leaving. Seokjin let out a deep, and repressed breath. He was not- and he means it- wanted here. Seokjin lifted his phone, checking the time. Seokjin was here on time, for once. Good. He usually never made it early to these types of things. Still, all of this... Was it nerve-racking? He for one did not feel calm. This- was it like a blind date? He let out a deep sigh, going to check his Instagram. Seokjin’s brow moved up, his followers had gone up… by about twelve thousand since the night before. What the heck? What happened? Why did he get such a boost in followers? Seokjin bit the inside of his mouth, sitting back in his seat. Whatever. Seokjin checked the time, taking in a deep breath.

“Damn… I was late.” Now, much like usual- his mind began to soar. Did he leave? Did he get so fed up with Seokjin being late that he got up and left?

“Are you going to order anything?” Seokjin’s eyes grew large, as he looked to the side. The waiter had come around for the fourth time. Fourth time in an hour. Seokjin picked at his thumb, not daring to face the man. “Because it’s getting late.” Seokjin swallowed hard, cursing at the other man in his head. He- he sure as hell couldn’t just get up and walk off. He had waited so freaking long- and this man thought he was poor. Now, don’t get me wrong- Seokjin sure as fucking hell was- but he didn’t need this man to know that.

“Yeah-yeah you know something… I want to order something,” The waiter's brow moved up- as if in complete utter surprise. They gave a curt nod,

“Do you know what you wish to order?” Seokjin opened the menu- for the hundredth time it felt.

“Yeah-yes.” Seokjin smiled lightly, “Can I get the steak?” Was that the cheapest thing on the menu? No. Fuck no, but it was the only thing Seokjin could read so fuck it.

“How do you want it?”

“Medium.” Thank god for all those hours he watched Gordon Ramsey screaming about lamb sauce. “Side salad, with ranch.” He nodded, before passing over the menu. “And another refill on that water.” The waiter nodded,

“Alright, I’ll be right out.” Seokjin smiled lightly, seeing the waiter leave. He let out a deep sigh. Has Seokjin ever been stood up before? Yes. A once or twice but right now- it was more of an embarrassing rush going through him. They were staring at him. Who? The waiter, The people around, watching as he stared at his phone. Seokjin was staring at his phone out of habit. Because, what else could he do? If he looked up- what if people were staring at him? Seokjin let out a deep sigh. He should have listened to Yoongi. He should have not come to this meeting. He even got his hopes up- even moisturized his face, and used his expensive lashes. And now, here he is, sitting here like a fool.

Seokjin’s food came, and he almost choked at how small the meal was. He really could have skipped out on coming here and ordering all this. But now, here he was, sitting like a clown, eyes all on him- with a fifty dollar meal, and butter that came in a tiny little dollop. Sometimes, it was like that. So, he started on his very overpriced meal.

Seokjin paid and tipped- well. Why? Because the waiter honestly hated him so much. He stood up, sliding his hands into his pockets, as he left the restaurant.

“Fuck Kim Taehyung.” Seokjin rolled his eyes. He was sure that man was amazing- was so sure he was a genuine human being who actually looked forward to meeting him but he was wrong. Now, he was an idiot walking back to his apartment alone. He tucked his head into his coat, cool air causing his ears to burn. He wasted his time- and now, he was walking home- because what else was there to do? For a little while, Seokjin stayed silent, before feeling his phone ding in his pocket. Whoever it was, could wait- because right now, Seokjin had no- in no way at all any energy to speak to anyone. He didn’t even want to do a check-in on his mascara, because he wasn’t sure if it was the wind bitting away at his face, or the literal anger budding through him from being stood the fuck up- but he was sure this mascara was in no way what it promised.

Seokjin had finally made it to his apartment complex, going through the front office, to pick up his package. Seokjin held his bag closer to his side, as he walked down to mailing boxes downstairs from his apartment. He pulled up his keys- going to his box, and opening it. He pulled out a small card, bringing it up to his face. It was a package note- one he had to give the worker at the front. Seokjin walked back, holding the card in between his fingers.

“Long day huh?” Seokjin was sure it was because of the state of his makeup- since this man was giving him such a hard look. “So what will it be today?” Seokjin slid on the desk the small note. “Oh? A package Mr. Kim?” Seokjin nodded. “I’ll be just a moment, wait here.” Seokjin nodded weakly.

“Yup,” The man took up the card, going back to the other room. Seokjin pulled up his phone, just trying to find something else to do other than staring down at his feet.  He had missed a few calls, and a few unread messages, but whatever-

Ding!

Ding!

Seokjin’s brow moved up, clicking on his messages. He stared at the two messages he had received. It was Hoseok. He wanted to speak to Seokjin later- about that thing he had been filming for months. Yoongi told him briefly about it- how Hoseok had gone deep into research about some… not so friendly things- and hush-hush secret things. Seokjin wondered what this could all have been about. He took in a deep breath, shoving his phone back into his pocket as he saw the apartment manager coming back out- holding- Seokjin’s eyes were large. Two enormous boxes, wheeling them in- on a cart.

“You know… When people get such large packages- they usually just get them sent to a P.O. box instead of just having it sent to their place Mr. Kim.” Seokjin stared at the boxes, “What did you order anyways?” Seokjin didn’t even know. He scratched his head.

“I-I don’t know really…” Seokjin blinked once, “I think- it’s something for my roommate.” Seokjin nodded, “Yeah, that’s probably it.” The man nodded,

“Bring the cart back when you’re done with it, please?” Seokjin smiled at the man, nodding.

“I will, thanks.”

Seokjin used his entire body weight to wheel this thing to his apartment suite. There were no working elevators in this place, so he had to pull those heavy boxes up on his own. It took him a damn good while- at least- half an hour but he made it up to his apartment. He unlocked his door, pushing it wide open to see Hoseok straddling Yoongi on the couch. Seokjin went pale in the face. Hoseok turned his head back- a perky smile on his lips.

“You’re home!” Yoongi from underneath him only gave him a small head nod.

“I am.” Seokjin nodded, before he took in a deep breath, and sighed. “Am I interrupting something? I can leave-” Hoseok shook his head, still on the other man.

“No! Hyung!” He waved him off, “Dinner is just about done-”

“Nah, you should leave,” Yoongi told him. When Seokjin tells you, Hoseok turned his head back to him so fast- yanking on his ear.

“Don’t treat him like that, Yoongi. He is your roommate.” Yoongi chuckles a little before Hoseok finally straddles him. Hoseok gets up, lips were swollen- hair a mess, “He’s just joking hyung- you know how this man can be?” Seokjin nodded,

“I do, Hoseok and it’s fine. I just have to leave this in my room, I had to go out and get some stuff anyways,” Seokjin yanks the wagon into the apartment living room, the door shutting close behind him.

“What is that?” Hoseok’s voice is soft, as he stared at the boxes. Seokjin turns his head,

“Yeah- umm… What are you gonna go grab- cause we’re out of eggs so-” Hoseok stares at Yoongi for a moment, the look just telling him to shut his pie hole. Seokjin pretends not to see that,

“Oh.. I don’t know what it actually is.” He paused, “But it’s in my name… so it might be like- a mirror? Something I must have bought-”

“While he was drunk.” Yoongi joked, “No other way you would just get that, right?” Seokjin nods,

“Guess it’ll be a nice surprise for later,” Seokjin nods, “Umm… continue what you were doing- I’ll leave in a bit.” Seokjin moves to his bedroom- having trouble maneuvering into the small space. Seokjin finally manages, and then stares on at the boxes for a minute. How the actual fuck was he supposed to move them off that borrowed cart? Seokjin thinks for a moment, before diving in headfirst. He goes to the box, slipping his hands over it- using his legs to lift it-

“Oh gosh,” He hears Hoseok, who runs to his aid, helping him with the other end of the box. It was a great deal of help, to be honest. Together- they placed the box down, and Hoseok even helped with the other. “OOoff….” Hoseok whipped his forehead, “I don’t know what you bought- but that is heavy Hyung,” Seokjin nodded along,

“Yeah,” He bit his bottom lip, “It really is, isn’t it?” Seokjin scratched the back of his head, “Thanks Hoseok for helping me,”

“Anytime buddy-” Hoseok smiles, “By the way, dumb butt back there didn’t mean it. While cooking he was talking about how much he cares about you.” Seokjin can’t tell if he’s joking or just trying to make him feel better, “Besides that, I wanted to talk to you- about a collab that I want you to be apart of!” Hoseok smiled, “I’m not sure if Yoongi has mentioned about my content- but I really want to change it from my usual list type videos,” Seokjin had heard that he was working hard on some new content. He wasn’t sure about what it was in too much detail, because Yoongi wasn’t too much into details. Whatever it was though, was supposed to be big. “Yeah- it’s about… makeup influencers- and how… the products they advertise, and promote are never up to actual standards.” Hoseok nodded, “Or their affiliate codes- and branding deals- that go sour, or makeup brands that support… unsavory things.” Hoseok lifted his hands a little, “I’ve done all the research- I have- and I noticed your videos… you don’t do sponsorships all that much with makeup,” Seokjin nodded,

“I don’t advertise makeup unless I’m absolutely in love with it.” Hoseok smile grows,

“You’re respectable!” Hoseok bites his lower lip, “Which is why I want you in this video with me! You- and me we can talk about the unsavory bits and pieces... Everything that lies low in the beauty world.” Seokjin was unsure of what he was saying all at once. Hoseok could see his hesitation, after all, Seokjin was apart of that beauty world. “I know…” He sighs, “It sounds utterly insane- I know but… the amount of work I’ve put into this- I’m sure that I’m being as honest as possible-” Hoseok still nods, “But I understand completely if you want to back out- and I will completely understand. I mean- makeup is your livelihood- I would never want to take that from you Hyung,” Seokjin stays silent for a moment. This kid was an amazing man Yoongi was in love with, Seokjin could tell you that. He was genuine and had only the interest of others in mind. Seokjin took in a deep breath,

“Of course I’d love to help you with your project Hoseok,” Seokjin nods,  “It would be a splendid honor to help you.” Hoseok leaps up in joy,

“REALLY?!” Seokjin nods, “Thank you so much Hyung! Thank you! Thank you! THANK YOU!” He rushes Seokjin, hugging him. Seokjin patts the man's head. He really was the complete opposite of Yoongi.

“Can you homo’s please stop hugging? Dinner is done.” Both of them turned to the door, Yoongi staring at them. “I’m hungry and I will eat without you both.” With that, Yoongi turns away and leaves. Hoseok and Seokjin turn back to each other, starting at one another, before breaking out into laughter.

Seated at the table, Seokjin was served first, both the other two waiting for him to take the first bite before they began eating.

“So?” Yoongi broke the silence as he bit into a carrot, “How did that free lunch go?” Seokjin bit down hard on his chopsticks, eyes growing large. “What?” Yoongi was keen on picking up on little things. “Did bad happen?” Seokjin opened his mouth, Hoseok tilting his head as he tried to get what was going on.

“So-”

“So? So what Seokjin?” Yoongi asked a bit forcefully, “You went to lunch with that dude and what?” Seokjin sits back on the chair, sighing.

“He didn’t even show up.” Yoongi drew silent as he said that. Hoseok opened his mouth in shock.

“Well,” His brows grew closed together, “It’s his loss Hyung- you- a beauty to be stood up?” He shook his head, “I’m not even surprised. Men! Am I right?!” Both Seokjin and Yoongi stare at him.

“Hoseok,” Yoongi rolls his eyes, “We’re men-”

“Okay, but we’re not trash like that!” He shakes his head, “That man could have had Beyonce but no!” Seokjin was utterly confused, looking over at Yoongi for some assistance.

“What?” He mouthed,
“Beyonce got cheated on-”

“Exactly!” Hoseok lets out, “If a woman as fine as that can get cheated on-”

“I can get stood up for a date?” Seokjin asks, Hoseok pauses for a moment,

“It sounded better in my head.” Seokjin nods. He settles down his fork.

“All of a sudden… I am not so hungry.” Seokjin sits up from his seat, “Thank you for dinner- I’m… Imma go buy some beer.” Seokjin nods, “And get drunk to the point where I remember what the fuck I even ordered.” He smiles at them all, “Both of you have a nice night.” Both of them watch as Seokjin leaves to go into the kitchen. Yoongi turns back to Hosoek,

“Did you need to bring up the whole Beyonce thing?”

Seokjin goes down the stairs, cart in tow. He stops by the front desk, returning it once again before setting out. He walked to a convenience store not too far from his apartment. He picked up a pack of beer- and a few bottles of soju- to make sure he was out of it. He felt his phone go off a few times in his pocket, paying- and getting a bag of chips in the process. Seokjin started his walk to his home once again. His phone rang, his hands stuffed into the pockets of his pants. It was too cold for him to pull them out- so Yoongi calling him about the eggs was going to have to wait because he could just go pick them up on his own. Seokjin continued, through the cool night when- he felt a small drop on his nose. He closed his eyes. His day could not be worse if he- He paused. The universe was sick and it would find a way, so you know what? Yeah, it was shitty. Seokjin continued on, and with little time, it was downright pouring over him. He rushed home, making it home completely dry- sike. He was soaked from head to sock. He walked past the front office, and up to the stairs. He tried to pull out his keys from his pocket with his free hand, failing as they slipped and fell to the floor. He cursed his luck, reaching down to pick them up when another hand touched his. Seokjin’s eyes drifted up and in all his glory. Here that man was. The one who stood him up. Kim Taehyung.

He felt bad. Leaving Seokjin with people- he was honestly sure he wouldn’t like. Taehyung knew that knew that Seokjin wasn’t the biggest socialite in the world, so he felt guilty but if he didn’t leave right then and there- who knows how much more guilt he’d feel later?

Ring!

Ring!

Ring!

He picked up his phone, eyes drifting from the road to it. Why was Jimin calling him? Taehyung rolled his eyes. It was probably to tell him that his flight was canceled again. He could wait. Taehyung thought. He could wait too. It took him no longer than ten minutes to be back at the villa. He parked his car, before jumping out and going to the house. He opened the front door, closing it behind him. He walked into the living room- before seeing him. He was standing the moment he caught sight of Taehyung.

“Babe!” His smile engulfed his face. He rushed Taehyung, “I’ve missed you so much,” He smiles, “So much,” Taehyung smiles, reaching his arms around him.

“I’ve missed you too honey,” Taehyung takes in a deep breath. He pushes Taehyung back, pressing a small peck on his lips.

“Happy late birthday,” He lowers his gaze, “I’m sorry we didn’t get to spend it together.” Taehyung shakes his head.

“It’s fine. Probably wouldn’t have been able to do much in public anyways babe.” The other man stared at him for a moment, before sighing.

“I’m sorry,” His voice is low, “That you have to be with him. I know… I know-” Taehyung shakes his head, pulling him closer.

“It’s okay, you’re with me now. That’s all that matters.” Taehyung takes a step back, “How about we go to the bedroom?” The man smiled at him,

“Taehyung,” His lips pout, “I have a gaming even to get to-”

“It’ll be quick,” The man stares at him.

“You know damn well that’s a lie.” Taehyung choked up a smile,

“Come on? Please?” The other man smiled,

“Yeah, yeah- I want to too.” Taehyung pulled him by his waist.

“Want me to carry you?” He looked straight at Taehyung, “Huh Jungkook?”

Taehyung ran his hands through his hair, trying to smooth it out- but it was a mess. His clothes- wrinkled from being on the floor, the skin on his neck sore. The lights were dim as he entered the boat- making him feel so much better. People shouldn’t be able to notice how bad it really looked.

“Tae?” He swung his head back, hearing his voice. A huge smile awaited him, “Tae!” Namjoon rushed him, taking him into his arms. “The man!” Taehyung chuckled a little, taking in a deep breath. Namjoon moved back, “I thought you weren’t coming!” Taehyung shakes his head, placing his arm behind his head.

“What made you think that?” Taehyung asked. Namjoon shrugged,

“Well, the party has been going on for a minute and you- the person of honor hasn’t shown up. Thought I was gonna blow out the candles.” He smiled, “Jimin came a little while ago, was looking for you like crazy!” Namjoon tilted his head, “And so was your boyfriend…” He shrugged, “You need to tell him when you’re gonna get here- cause he looked so angry.” He shook his head, “But he did pass the vibe check. Beat one of your boys in shotgunning a whiteclaw.” Taehyung blinked hard,

“Pardon? Are we speaking about the same man?” Namjoon chuckled along putting his arm around him.

“Who else?” Taehyung grew still as he heard that. Namjoon nodded, “Even spoke to me about the houseplants he has- honestly a chill dude.” Namjoon moved his finger around, “He-he came down here- to call you I think?” Taehyung knew- that wasn’t good. He was angry. “And Jimin?” Taehyung pulled away, smiling back at him.

“How about we head up? So I can crack a drink?” Namjoon nods,

“Head up- I’ll be there in a bit. Wanna grab something real quick. Okay?” Taehyung nodded.

“Yeah-yeah no prob.”

Half an hour. Half an hour he had waited- and not a single answer. Taehyung was losing his mind- why the hell wasn’t he answering? Was he pissed at him? It didn’t matter- they were in public, both of them knew the rules. When in public they are perfect no matter what. Taehyung stood up before he saw someone climbing up the stairs. His smile half-faded when he saw who it was. Jimin, he was smiling brightly- as he went up. His eyes caught Taehyung’s- both of them waving at each other. Jimin rushed him, hugging him.

“Tae!” Taehyung chuckled, hugging him back,

“I had heard you had gotten here!” Taehyung spoke up, “I-I was you know… with-” Jimin smiled nodding.

“I know but… he looked pretty angry.” He pushed his lips together, “You know?” Taehyung nodded. Had Taehyung told Seokjin about Jimin knowing… about their… deal? No. This was his best friend- he didn’t have to explain a single thing to him. Jimin chuckled, wrapping his arm around him. That’s when it started. The music. Taehyung wasn’t confused at all- it was that everyone stood up and began singing to him. The lights dimmed, as someone came out from the bottom deck. Taehyung could see it. It was written all on him. His lips bright- plump. Neck bruised, hair- hair that he kept so neat was out of place. Taehyung bit his tongue, as he came closer.

He knew what he was up to. Taehyung mouthed it with his mouth.

“I hate you.” Seokjin gave him one of his famous smiles.

“I hate you too,” With that- Taehyung blew out his candles. Claps and flashes went off. Namjoon appeared, taking the cake. Taehyung faced Seokjin. They still had a job. Taehyung pulled him by his neck close into his arms. Maybe it was the smell, maybe because his eyes caught the sight of a disgusting bruise.

“Where the fuck did you get a hickey from?” Seokjin only let out a small chuckle.

“Who the fuck sucked you off?” That was all he said, before puckering a kiss on his cheek. Taehyung was angry, so angry he was shaking. He faced Seokjin, before breaking the space between them planting a kiss on his lips. Seokjin’s lips were soft, warm, so unlike him. A snap went off. Good, he’d look like a good boyfriend.

They had gotten into the car. Taehyung had to talk Jimin into taking an uber. He was very upset about that- Taehyung can only assume because he didn’t want Taehyung to suffer on his own. He ran his hand through his hair, his eyes moving to look over at him. He didn’t look up once from his phone.

“So... “ Taehyung’s grip over the steering wheel became tighter- his jaw clenching as he stared at Seokjin for a moment. “Who did you fuck on the boat?” Seokjin only scoffed, a smile curling up on his lips.

“Who did you leave me for huh?” Seokjin tilted his head ever so slightly, touching the window. “Needed some birthday head, or what?” He chuckled lightly, “Did you run off to get some new footage for your stupid volg? Cause I can tell you, someone who did that,” Seokjin turned in his seat. “Because I agreed to not be left by your dumbass.” Seokjin shook his head, “Because guess who waited hours by himself- while you didn’t even have the fucking decency to answer your phone while you fucked some whore!” Seokjin sat back in his seat, facing away from him. “And here I am? You call me a whore…” Seokjin chuckled, “What? Do you expect me to what? Wait on your every fucking command?” Seokjin let out a deep breath, “It doesn’t even matter-” Seokjin sighed, “I kept my promise- made you look amazing! I gave you all the content you needed so don’t expect anything else from me-”

Ding!

Taehyung pressed his eyes closed. His phone had gone off. Seokjin only grumbled before looking away. Taehyung looked over- at his phone happy that something interpreted his scolding from his pretend boyfriend. Taehyung took up his phone, looking over the message.

Taehyung’s heart near leaped from his chest- his phone falling to his lap- as he pushed hard on the breaks.

Seokjin was moved forward in his seat, letting out a gasp, as both of them settled in their seats. A loud honk came from behind them, as the car was pushed further. They had gotten into a car accident. Within a moment, the airbags deployed- and Taehyung was bashing to deflate them. Taehyung could feel his headache beginning. His body's adrenaline rushing. His hand moved to the other man’s chest- before turning to face him. Seokjin was pushing the airbags but at a slower pace.

“A-are you okay?” Seokjin seemed a little out of it, his head still bobbing- eyes large and wide. “Seokjin- are you-” Another loud honk came from behind them. Seokjin jumped at the sound. Taehyung undid Seokjin’s seatbelt. “We have to get out- Seokjin can you walk?” Seokjin still didn’t answer him. “SEOKJIN!” He turned his head to Taehyung. “You can hear me?” Seokjin turned to him, mouth in a small circle. “Good- step out of the car, okay? I got to see if anything happened, alright?” Seokjin didn’t respond, only getting out of the car. Taehyung was grateful for at least that. He could move, which means he should be alright. Taehyung looked over to his side mirror, checking the road before he got out of the car. He went to the back, looking at the damage. The back of his car was just dented. The other car- barely suffering. Taehyung went to speak with the other driver, explaining to them that- well lying more like it. Something caught his attention- he hit his breaks- and well… he turned it on them. They were driving way too close. This could have been avoided if they would have driven farther away from him.

Taehyung looked up from his spot- staring at Seokjin. He- he looked pale. The car accident shouldn’t have been that bad. He-he should be alright-

Taehyung finished up with them, giving them his information- thank god he bought the insurance for the rental. Whatever though, he went to the side of the road- lowering himself at Seokjin’s side.

“Hey-hey are you okay? Seokjin?” Seokjin looked up at him. His eyes were bloodshot, red- and glass-like. He didn’t seem all there. “Hey-” Taehyung grabbed him by his shoulder, “Do we need to go to the hospital?” Seokjin looked up at him.

“I-I-” He stayed there for a moment before he silenced himself. “Nothing.” He shook his head once again, “Nothing at all... “ He looked down, “We-we should take this to be repaired-”

“That can wait… Are you alright?” Seokjin looked down.

“Yeah… yeah- just fine.” He looked up at Taehyung.

“Are you alright?” Taehyung had a lump in his throat. No, he wasn’t alright- not alright at all. S-someone knew-knew that they weren’t real. They had a photo of him- of him and Jungkook. H-how could he tell him- after the amount of time he had been told to be careful. After knowing what this could mean to his career if found out to be true.

“Yeah-yeah… bodies gonna hurt tomorrow- but… we should get back. The other guys are gonna worry.” Seokjin took in a deep breath, nodding.

“You’re right.” Seokjin looked back down, “Let’s-let’s go.” Taehyung moved back a bit- Seokjin using his legs to stand- before they seemed to give out. Seokjin’s legs seemed to let him slip- Taehyung grabbing hold of his arm, holding him up.

“Woah,” Taehyung spoke lowly, “Yeah-yeah, I think you’re gonna need to see a doctor-” Seokjin shook his head.

“No- no… I’m fine!” Seokjin told him, “Just fine.” He staggered a bit but got on his own two legs. Seokjin gave him an uneasy smile. “Let’s go- yeah?”

They had gotten back to their villa, Taehyung walking Seokjin to his bedroom. He laid him down,

“Hey-”

“I’m fine.” Seokjin nodded, “I’m gonna be just fine- so you don’t have to worry at all.” He was pale. Taehyung must have scared him deeply with that accident. He feels bad. He caused that, made it so that this was all happening, even right now- with them almost being exposed.

“Seokjin?” His head lifted, but Taehyung was left silent.

“What is it Taheyung?” He let a small smile come up to his lips, shaking his head-

“Nothing…” He patted Seokjin’s head. “Nothing at all… just get some rest… I’ll come to check on you later.”

“Alright,” Seokjin nodded. “Goodnight.” Taehyung got up and left Seokjin’s room- going to his room. He sat down on his bed, taking in a deep breath. Over. That was what was flashing through his head. It was all over.

Ding!

His eyes grew large. Oh no, he was going to be blackmailed.
