I’ll slowly write down our own story, more and more and more
There’s plenty of time, fill my eyes with your own light
On top of this page
You and me
Without any space
Write, right now.

The light filters in softly, diffused and scattered like the petals that drop from Taehyung’s hair when he’s particularly enthused. Taehyung is awake far too early but he isn’t unhappy about it, instead Taehyung watches the dust motes dance, watches the way they flick and flutter in the muted sunlight of just barely there morning hours, and he sighs. The noise makes the lump of blankets next to him shift, sheets rustling as Yoongi crawls his way out from beneath both Taehyung and the blankets. There’s another wiggling of blanket beneath that, of Holly and Yeontan scrambling their way from their own cuddle nest.
Taehyung sighs happily at the sight of Yeontan and Holly perched on the discarded blankets, before he meets Yoongi’s eyes. The look Yoongi gives him is one part annoyed, four parts still asleep, and there are two-four-eight cowlicks vying for attention all over his hair. Taehyung brings a hand to cover up his laughter, nothing more than a huff of air at this point and Yoongi blinks blearily before he’s shimmying out of the bed. Holly and Yeontan eagerly yip and skitter after him; and Taehyung takes that as a sign it’s time to leave the warmth of the bed.
Taehyung follows, and a few clover plants fall off Taehyung’s shoulder. Yoongi grumbles, incoherent noises that make Taehyung lean closer to him and drape himself over Yoongi. Yoongi pauses once the two of them manage to toddle into the kitchen; Yoongi makes a beeline to the coffee machine and Taehyung wrinkles his nose. Yoongi turns to pluck at the clovers that have bloomed across Taehyung’s head with a sleepy smile; Taehyung blinks, wide-eyed as he feels his cheeks bloom with color.
“Good thing we need these for today, huh?” Yoongi hums, “Luck.”
Yoongi leans back into Taehyung’s arms while the coffee maker bubbles along merrily. Taehyung hums, rests his head on top of Yoongi’s gently as they soak up each other’s warmth. Holly and Yeontan are skittering around in the kitchen, nails light and clicking softly turning into background noise as Taehyung closes his eyes.
The sound of heavier nails against the hardwood floors make Taehyung pause, glancing to the side. He hears the scrabbling of claws against wood again and then a fluffy head pokes from behind the hallway to the outside. Holly and Yeontan pause, perking up at the new furry intruder before they barrel towards the wolf.
Taehyung beams at the sight as he turns his attention to the giant black wolf that’s currently trodding towards them, Holly and Yeontan trailing along behind him. Yoongi chuckles as he reaches for the finished coffee, the sprigs of mint forgotten on the countertop. Taehyung feels his gaze, gentle and calm and it makes Taehyung’s chest ache with how much he adores it–adores Yoongi and Jeongguk.
Burying his face in the wolf’s fur, Taehyung’s shoulders shake with silent laughter; while a burst of hibiscus flowers bloom across his shoulders, dusting both him and Jeongguk with feather soft petals. There is a gentle tap of a mug being sat down on the counter and then Taehyung can hear Yoongi making his way towards the four of them.
Jeongguk is panting happily as Taehyung continues to cling to him, Yeontan and Holly are snuffling around Jeongguk’s paws and generally being very enthusiastic about another body to demand cuddles from, and with a snuffle and a muffled woof, Jeongguk is sitting half in Taehyung’s lap—amused and very much human. The hibiscus blooms that were blossoming over Taehyung increase as Taehyung meets Jeongguk’s gaze.
“You’re awake early for once, Gguk,” Yoongi points out, while Jeongguk looks up with a raised eyebrow, “Yeah, usually I’m here to keep Taehyung-hyung company while you cuddle with the blankets.”
Taehyung leans his head backwards to meet Yoongi’s gaze, a pointed look on his face that screams, ‘he has a point, hyung’ and Yoongi pointedly picks his mug up and takes a long loud sip from it. Jeongguk snickers. Yeontan and Holly yip excitedly as they attempt to worm their way into his lap.
Taehyung grins, boxy and delighted as chrysanthemums burst into full bloom across his arms and wrists; Jeongguk pauses in favor of watching Taehyung with wide eyes—and Taehyung can see the awe in Jeongguk’s gaze can see the way he practically lights up from the inside out at Taehyung’s joy turned tangible and the two of them burst into laughter again.
Yoongi just shakes his head, fond and amused and filled to the brim with adoration; Taehyung can tell, can feel it in the way the mug gets set back onto the counter and how Yoongi makes a fuss as he kneels down to Jeongguk and Taehyung’s level to speak, “C’mon you two, Holly and Yeontan are hungry, and we have potions to brew.”
Jeongguk scrambles out from Taehyung’s grasp while Taehyung pouts softly, too comfortable with snuggling Jeongguk close and Yoongi gives him another look—head tilted smile soft and gentle and Taehyung guesses he could get up off the floor to help Yoongi with the potions they’re going to be selling later. Holly and Yeontan are watching them all with sharp gazes, and Taehyung is the first to crack, turning to dig in the cabinets for their food. Yoongi and Jeongguk are already digging around preparing for their day ahead.
Once their furred friends are fed, Taehyung follows behind Yoongi as he rises and the three of them settle into the kitchen—Jeongguk is poised at the end of the counter, nearest the old stove they use for brewing while Taehyung positions himself directly in between Yoongi and Jeongguk.
Taehyung likes this, the easy way they click together like puzzle pieces.
Alstroemeria blossoms and coxcombs erupt from Taehyung, startling both Jeongguk and Yoongi at the gasp of surprise Taehyung lets out. Jeongguk is wide eyed and awed—a normal reaction, something that Taehyung isn’t ever used to, because Jeongguk always looks at him like he’s a special treasure, a special discovery each time some new blossom sprouts because Taehyung just can’t stop his overflow of feelings.
Yoongi just stares.
Taehyung just feels his cheeks burn in embarrassment, but he knows, oh he sure knows how much Yoongi adores him and the way his plants bloom.
It used to be a sore spot for Taehyung, way before everything clicked together in peace before Yoongi just fondly looked on and helped Taehyung gather up the plants and set them in their labeled tins. Before Jeongguk always eagerly tried to grasp the meanings of them, because what Taehyung lacks—and even then he thinks that Yoongi and Jeongguk would object to that, since well, the flowers that blossom and burst into being are loud enough for Taehyung’s point to get across—the flowers make up for it; in beauty and frequency and usefulness.
Taehyung knows that Yoongi is staring, not out of malice or annoyance, but sheer fondness and affection.
(it took taehyung so long to believe that)
Yoongi just smiles, plucking the blooms from Taehyung’s head from his arms and from his hands, and sets them on the counter top.
“I see,” Yoongi hums, while Jeongguk peers interestedly at the flowers.
“Hyung? What are these for?” Jeongguk asks, head tilted to the side and Taehyung can’t help but cover his face with his hands. A groan slips by his lips and Yoongi gives him a wry look; and then he leans forward to meet Jeongguk’s gaze. Taehyung can feel what’s going to happen next and he rubs his face once last time before he looks at Jeongguk.
Holding Jeongguk’s hands gently, Taehyung smiles. It is a soft thing, a barely there smile that is overflowing with emotions and faintly Taehyung hopes it doesn’t burst into being again; but at this rate, well, he doesn’t quite mind it now. Not with Jeongguk and Yoongi’s attention being nothing but a balm, comforting and soothing. Lifting Jungkook’s hands to his mouth, Taehyung presses a kiss to his knuckles.
“Oh,” Jeongguk breathes. Taehyung feels ooey and gooey and warm. Yoongi’s hand is pressing against Taehyung’s hip, gentle and sturdy. This is a snapshot Taehyung wishes he could capture forever, but the best thing he does to savor it is just think of the flowers.
“Devotion, uncomplicated affection,” Yoongi hums and Taehyung turns to look at him. “You’re so cuddly today, Taehyung-ah.”
Taehyung makes a face, sticks his tongue out at Yoongi who only laughs and tugs down the familiar cauldron that they use for the happier potions. Taehyung’s already reaching for the mortar and pestle and Jeongguk is still staring at the side of Taehyung’s face, starstruck and oh so in love. It makes Taehyung’s chest hurt with fondness.
Yoongi sets the cauldron down and Taehyung watches quietly as he reaches for the bottles of liquid on the counter. Taehyung knows immediately that they’re going to make cheer potions, perhaps a couple of pick me ups to help with the bout of dreary rains they’ve had the past week; and Jeongguk is humming happily as he watches both Yoongi and Taehyung fiddle with their tools.
“Hyung, what are we making today?” Jeongguk finally asks, quiet and hesitant to interrupt Yoongi. Taehyung looks over at Jeongguk and sets the mortar and pestle down in favor of bringing his fingers to poke his cheeks and push his mouth into a smile. Jeongguk blinks curiously at the gesture before he glances at the flowers and then back to Taehyung.
Understanding blossoms in Jeongguk’s eyes as Taehyung nods and picks up the pestle; and Yoongi is already handing him a couple sprigs of mint Taehyung bloomed. Jeongguk gets it and he’s doing what he does best: barreling headfirst into helping Yoongi and Taehyung brew their stockpile of potions he’ll deliver to Seokjin later. Or Seokjin will suddenly surprise them with a drop by pick up and chaos will rain down until Taehyung is bursting with delphiniums and the air is thick with their scent.
Whichever comes first.

By the time the three of them finish their potion brewing, Jeongguk is sprawled out on the couch in his wolf form, with Holly and Yeontan curled up with him, and Taehyung is clinging to Yoongi’s back as he finishes up the last of their stock. It’s nearly three, Taehyung realizes from his vantage point against Yoongi, and his stomach is rumbling angrily. He hears a whuff from the living room, where he knows Jeongguk is; and Yoongi only laughs gently.
“Hungry, I take it?” Yoongi asks, while Taehyung simply tightens his grip on Yoongi’s waist. Taehyung watches as Yoongi labels the last of the potions and sets them gently in the box with the others before he shimmies himself out from Taehyung’s grip, “Hyung will take care of you when Ggukkie sends these over to Jin-hyung.”
Jeongguk’s black snout pokes itself from over the side of the couch, bleary eyes meet Taehyung’s and he gives Jeongguk a look. The two of them stare at one another, while Yoongi manages to start puttering around their kitchen; this time looking for ingredients for food that doesn’t involve magic.
Taehyung would protest and say that Yoongi’s cooking is magic, along with all the potions he’s made, but well… he already does that and the elder never fails to get overly flustered at the praise. It’s Taehyung’s favorite pastime.
Jeongguk is finally scrambling off the couch and the only indicator of Jeongguk’s movement is the sound of his nails against the wood floors. Taehyung pauses to glance at Yoongi who’s digging out one of the usual bags they use when they send the potions out; and when Taehyung glances back down at Jeongguk, he’s sitting at his feet.
Lifting the small box of potions, Taehyung turns to slide them into the bag Yoongi’s holding open before he gently ties the bag off and slides the sling over Jeongguk’s head. Making sure that the bag is securely strapped to him, Taehyung gives Jeongguk a couple of scratches behind his ears as he presses his face into Jeongguk’s neck.
“You be careful, okay Gguk? When you get back we can have all the samgyeopsal you want,” Yoongi says and the wag of Jeongguk’s tail is answer enough. With an enthusiastic bark and another wag of his tail, Jeongguk disappears out the door Taehyung had had half a second of warning to push open with a gust of magic.
Yoongi turns to Taehyung with a fond smile before he gestures to the kitchen, “Now, want to help hyung with some lunch?”
Taehyung grins back, nodding as he straightens up and makes his way to the counter where a myriad of ingredients sit. Yoongi starts with vegetables, handing Taehyung a knife and cutting board and the two of them dissolve into a companionable silence. The sound of a knife against wood is the only sound that passes between them, and Taehyung is… happy.
The two of them working side by side is a usual sight, especially when Yoongi is backed up with orders for the shop he and Jin-hyung run, but those days are normally loud and chaotic and filled with Jin-hyung’s squeaky laughter. ‘This is nicer,’ Taehyung thinks, smiling gently when Yoongi meets his soft gaze.
Yoongi eventually moves towards the stove, digging into the cabinets for pots and pans to start cooking. Taehyung is busy with the vegetables, zoning in and out as he cuts carefully. Eventually, Taehyung finishes the vegetables and turns to dig for the meats that Yoongi surely has ready for them; and Taehyung gestures to the meats curiously. Yoongi looks over his shoulder and motions towards a second cutting board, “Do you want to cut the meat or should hyung?”
Taehyung tilts his head to the side. There’s a look on his face that Yoongi must’ve seen because he laughs quietly and motions again to the cutting board, “Forget I asked, it’s all yours Taehyung.”
Taehyung nods, satisfied in helping the elder with preparations. Reaching over to grab the cutting board that Yoongi gestured to, Taehyung starts on getting ready the meat. It doesn’t take that long to get things together and eventually by the time everything is ready Taehyung can sense the presence of Jeongguk coming by. Perking up, Taehyung glances at Yoongi with a small sound.
Turning to him, Yoongi blinks in confusion before he pauses. He laughs and shoos Taehyung towards the doorway, where the both of them know that Jeongguk is probably waiting behind—just to be dramatic. Taehyung laughs, and he isn’t surprised when Gerbera Daisies start to bloom across his wrist. Yoongi’s laughter follows after him when Taehyung goes to open the door, uncaring that Jeongguk absolutely could’ve used the door they specifically put in for him to use in wolf form.
“Were you really going to make me wait, hyung?” Jeongguk asks cheekily, grinning at the sight of the flowers blooming on Taehyung’s wrists. Taehyung shakes his head quickly, making a face as he tugs at Jeongguk’s wrist. Jeongguk doesn’t budge for a moment and the action makes Taehyung pause and look over at him curiously. With a smile, Jeongguk gently plucks the blooming gerbera daisies off Taehyung’s wrist.
Taehyung feels his heart stutter in his chest at the action. It’s so nice, being known like this, knowing that Jeongguk and Yoongi both understand what Taehyung means.
(it means he isn’t too much for them both, and instead he’s just enough for them.)
There’s a moment where he hears the clattering of plates and pots—it jerks Taehyung from his thoughts and the melancholy that wants to claw its way up like adonis blooms and he doesn’t want that, doesn’t want to ruin the mood, so—and he looks back at Jeongguk with a pointed look.
“Okay, okay hyung let’s go see if Yoongi-hyung will give you the bigger piece of meat first,” Jeongguk says, laughing as Taehyung continues to tug Jeongguk towards their kitchen. Yoongi is in the middle of bringing out some dishes to the small table shoved into a corner of the house. Taehyung’s gaze follows Yoongi as he sets them down and when the elder looks up to meet Taehyung’s eyes, he gives him a grin.
“Just in time, Jeongguk-ah,” Yoongi says, motioning to the table that both Taehyung and Jeongguk sit down at. Taehyung sits and immediately turns to tug Jeongguk down into his chair; before reaching over to make sure Yoongi sat down and not putter around them like he knew he was about to do. Yoongi looks at Taehyung with a pout, a grumble in his voice already when Taehyung pats his hand.
Jeongguk blinks before standing abruptly from his chair. Taehyung looks at him, and he knows that Yoongi is too; the younger holds a finger up to shush any incoming comments from them and he very nearly vaults over their table to reach the counter with the potion bottles. Taehyung watches as Jeongguk carefully takes a potion jar and places the gerbera daisies into it once he’s done filling it with water and their methodically prepared flower food mix.
Yoongi has a smile on his face once Jeongguk comes back to their table, setting the jar of flowers in the center of their spread. Warmth pools in Taehyung’s stomach at the action, fondness and adoration and love love love all wrapped up at once into feelings that Taehyung never wants to forget Yoongi and Jeongguk give him.
Taehyung is watching Yoongi and Jeongguk carefully. They look at him at nearly the same time, and Taehyung feels nothing but happiness in his throat. He can feel his magic, a thrumming hummingbird wingbeat in his veins, wanting to express it; and he does, letting the magic bloom just in time to spy Yoongi and Jeongguk’s twin looks of awe.
He’s happy.
The hydrangeas that bloom across his cheeks, like pretty freckles, say everything he could ever say. Yoongi looks half choked up with emotions too, knowing exactly what every flower Taehyung’s bloomed for them means, and Jeongguk looks misty eyed too—and Taehyung knows that it’s just how Jeongguk is. He is heart full to bursting with adoration and love for Taehyung, and Taehyung can see that in the way Jeongguk grabs at some of the meat Yoongi’s cooked and places some on both of their plates.
Jeongguk looks determined, even though his stomach lets out the loudest grumble between the three of them, and Yoongi looks so fond—at Jeongguk and his insatiable stomach and his insatiable desire for food and affection, something that Taehyung doesn’t mind indulging the younger in. Taehyung laughs, shoulders shaking and grin wide on his face as he reaches for some of the meat to place on Yoongi’s plate, and then on Jeongguk’s plate. The two of them look startled for a moment before the looks melt away into a more affectionate look.
Taehyung can see Yoongi and Jeongguk look at each other from across the table, eyes darting from their plates to Taehyung and he pretends he doesn’t notice the way they slowly slide food back onto his plate. Yeontan yips from his perch on the couch, already finished with his own meal and ready for petting, and Taehyung glances over at the dog.
“Tan-ah, you’ll get your cuddles soon,” Jeongguk says, mouth full of rice, and it’s more or less a mumbled garbled mess, but Taehyung can understand Jeongguk perfectly. He makes a face at Jeongguk, though it’s weak and not all that annoyed—Yoongi gives Jeongguk the same look before he looks up at Taehyung with a raised eyebrow.
Taehyung can hear the question of ‘Can you believe our Ggukkie?’ and he laughs, hand coming to cover his mouth as his shoulders shake with laughter. Jeongguk pouts. Then he’s shoving more food into his mouth with force while Yoongi ruffles his hair and Taehyung continues laughing.
He’s so, so, so happy.
◦☙◦
Taehyung can’t hear Yoongi or Jeongguk in the kitchen, not after they shooed Taehyung out to keep Yeontan and Holly company; and he wonders what the two of them are up to. Holly is sleeping soundly on the couch, while Yeontan is curled up next to him; the two of them make for a pretty picture—their home is cosy with just the five of them, and Taehyung feels his heart ache with how much he loves them all.
Eventually his curiosity gets the better of him, and Taehyung gets up quietly. Glancing to Holly and Yeontan, he’s grateful that the two of them haven’t budged. Taehyung raises an eyebrow when he makes it into the kitchen, Jeongguk grinning wolfishly at him when he hears Taehyung coming. Yoongi is perched atop the counter, cleared of the potions and lunch mess they made earlier in the day.
“Hyung!” Jeongguk cheers, eyes crinkling and sparkling when Taehyung steps further into the kitchen. Yoongi is resting his head against Jeongguk’s shoulder, clearly kissed silly. Taehyung snickers. Yoongi huffs a laugh while Jeongguk preens at the attention the both of them have on him.
Taehyung moves closer, hands reaching for Jeongguk’s face carefully. Pressing his hands against Jeongguk’s cheeks, squishing his face between them, Taehyung beams. He leans forward and presses his mouth against Jeongguk’s puckered lips. Yoongi huffs in amusement while Taehyung smiles against Jeongguk’s mouth. The younger whines, muffled against Taehyung’s mouth before Taehyung pulls back.
There’s a pout on Jeongguk’s face, his arms coming up to cross together while Taehyung pulls back. His gaze slips over Jeongguk’s face, the puppy dog eyes he’s making don’t work on him—this much he tells Jeongguk so, through the way he tries ignoring the look and Taehyung already feels the magic humming, the smallest of foxglove blossoms across his fingertips and Jeongguk grins wolfishly at that. Yoongi laughs, head tossed back and grin gummy.
Shaking the foxglove from his fingertips, Taehyung makes a face and shifts closer to Yoongi. Jeongguk does the same, crowding Taehyung between Yoongi’s legs. The three of them exchange looks before they all burst into laughter again.
“You can’t lie to me hyung,” Jeongguk says, burying his face into the crook of Taehyung’s shoulder, “You give yourself away every time.”
Taehyung feels the blush before he groans goodnaturedly, leaning closer to Yoongi as he tries to get him to stop Jeongguk from teasing.
Yoongi smiles, tucking a few wayward strands of hair from Taehyung’s face as he hums, “Jeongguk-ah has a point, but that makes it so much more when you talk to us huh?”
Taehyung nods, smiling softly as he leans forward to meet Yoongi’s lips halfway. Jeongguk makes a noise again, a whine as he tugs at Taehyung’s hand. The scent of orange blossoms start up, and Taehyung doesn’t have to look to know that he’s blooming again, magic thick in the air between the three of them.
“Hyuuuung, you didn’t kiss me!” Jeongguk says, and Yoongi pulls back just enough from Taehyung to laugh, “Of course Taehyung-ah did, he put his mouth against yours didn’t he?”
Taehyung laughs, throwing his head back as he grins, boxy and bright as he turns back to Jeongguk. There are orange blossoms bursting into existence all over Taehyung and he can’t help it. Can’t help the magic that circles around them and fills their small kitchen with the scent.
‘This,’ Taehyung thinks, tugging Jeongguk impossibly close to him as he kisses him. Properly this time around. ‘This is what happiness is.’
