absolute power corrupts absolutely (never trust your group admins)

Summary:

Every pro from the first generation, retired or not, had admin permissions in the main chat. And while one could trust Han Wenqing to not abuse his admin powers without reason, it really wasn’t the same for Ye Xiu or Wei Chen.

/OR in which the pro players question why they still trust these people to be admins

Chapter 1: Prologue

Chapter Text

As it was with every professional league, Glory’s Alliance had its own fair share of group chats. One for every team registered in the Alliance, one for every generation of players- created by the Best Rookie of that year, and one for all the pro players in general. There were also the standard groups, such as the official announcements group in which all chat was banned (much to Huang Shaotian’s consternation and everyone else’s pleasure), the captains-only group, the vice captains-only group, the anti-Ye Qiu Xiu group, the girls-only group, and so on.

In most cases, the group owner was the only person with admin status. And while it wasn’t something that people were generally concerned about (unless they happened to be named Huang Shaotian, who got kicked out of the Golden Generation chatroom at least once a month for spamming), it did come across as surprising for the various pros to find out that they had more than one administrator for the main Glory Alliance chat.

Every pro from the first generation, retired or not, had admin permissions in the main chat. And while one could trust Han Wenqing to not abuse his admin powers without reason, it really wasn’t the same for Ye Xiu or Wei Chen, or any of the other retired pros who were occasionally summoned by their successors, assuming they dropped in.
