home is wherever he is

Summary:

Ibara never knew what a home was or should be like. His first memories of what people consider a home was that cruel and heartless orphanage. Maybe the military camp? No, the only person who gave him warmth there soon left him.

Maybe it was Tomoe Hiyori? The shining prince of Eden and Eve, that was Ibara's home. The feeling of warmth and love all came from him. Like the sun he truly was.

Notes:

*slaps this fanfic* i suck at character studies!

Work Text:

You never knew what home was,  you never even had a home. The only place that people would describe as home was the orphanage. Your parents never wanted you, that was what you were constantly told. Thrown away at that filthy place, the amount of times you've been starved, locked up, screamed at, you could still remember it. You hated that place, you hated watching everyone being taken away to a new home where they can live a happy life while you're suffering. You were jealous, you wished those kids were you.

So when they told you that you were going somewhere special, you didn't believe it even though there was a part of you who felt hopeful. When the tall men came to escort you, you thought maybe this was when you were going to have a place to call home.

It was anything but home, it was just like your orphanage, it was worse in fact. Having to wake up early everyday for the useless training, being reprimanded if you were caught slacking, getting made fun of by the adults. You were only 10, everyone around you were old men who wasted their life away watching you suffer and training for nothing. Until you met a friend, Yuzuru Fushimi. He gave you hope that maybe this could be your home, he already had a home though. This was just a temporary place before he could go back home. So you thought the both of you were alike, abandoned until you had a home.

What a lie, at the age of 12, you watch his parents with smiles plastered on their faces. Taking their son away to go be a dog to some young brat of the family who owned this hell hole. Watching the one you placed all your hope onto leave, you decided that home was an impossible place to ever reach.

That same year, a man came and took you away. Gatekeeper, that was his name, he was your granduncle, well that was what he said. Suddenly, you gained power and everything you wish for. Fortune from a family member who you never even knew, yet you didn't care. They owed you, they owed you because they made you suffer. You never cared about home anymore, why have warmth or love or comfort or all those lies from books and people when you could have power and money. No one could wrong you any longer.

Saegusa Ibara, you stopped believing you'll ever find a home. And now with the companies from your great-grandfather, your goal was no longer home. It was to stand on the top of the idol industry.

The garden of Eden, your amazing unit proposal and idea you had. The first two people who had caught your eye to join said unit were Nagisa Ran and Tomoe Hiyori. Nagisa, he was your new master or whatever it was called. Gatekeeper had told you that he was the successor of the Godfather, so of course you wanted him in your unit. But Tomoe Hiyori was a special case, when you first saw him sing on stage. You felt the warmth of a sun,  you could feel his burning passion and the purity in his voice.

Standing outside Yumenosaki, you showed them the proposal. They shall lead you and all of Japan to the heavenly garden known was Eden. Where sin does not exist and only love and purity does.

Tomoe Hiyori always caught your eye, everytime you heard his voice you felt the love and comfort that home was supposed to have. Admiration, was what you chalked it up to. But maybe it was more than that, you wanted to hold onto him and never let him go, you wanted him to be your Eve. You never knew what home was, you still didn't know what home was. But Eden taught you what family was, how family should feel. Although, Hiyori taught you more than what family and home was, yet you didn't know it yet.

"Eden is like my family~! So it means even you, Viper, are a part of this family!" he tells you, your heart racing like it has never before. He was right, you were going to be with him forever.

Love, maybe it was love. The love you never got from people, from a place. Hiyori gave you all that love. When, for the first time ever, he wraps you in a hug. The loving warmth made you cry, it made you drop your defense. In his arms you finally felt what love and a home should be like. Warm, comforting, loving, safe. You loved Hiyori, that feeling you thought was admiration was love. You, Ibara Saegusa, are in love with Hiyori Tomoe. You wanted to stay in his arms forever, love him forever, be with him forever. You never wanted to let him go.

You finally knew what a home meant, it didn't have to be a place, because for you it wasn't a place. It was a person, a certain someone in your heart. And that someone was Hiyori, your Eve.

"I love you, Hiyori.."

"I love you too, Ibara"

Home was wherever Hiyori was, so you will follow him until the end of time.
