Chapter Text
“Alright, we’re back to Penny’s magical Hell adventures of being badass and stuff,” Slays said as he put the tape into the recorder himself this time. “Jimmy’s a lazy piece of shit, so I’m doing this,”
“OO Ook ook!”
“Yesss, I’ve been waiting for this!” Ruby cheered. “I love watching Penny kill stuff!”
“Bit of a weird way to put it, but good for you!” Yang chuckled.
“Aww, that’s very nice of you!” Penny smiled.
“Penny’s journey through Hell has been interesting so far,” Ozpin nodded. “What layer is she headed to now?”
“Heresy,” Slays said. “There’s like, burning coffins with people trapped inside and stuff, and it’s also very red,” The man than instantly fell asleep.
Ozpin’s eyes widened, before he returned to his usual neutral glare. “Well, interesting punishment,”
“And downright evil. This is Hell though,” Glynda said. “So, I’m not surprised,”
PNY-1 landed back into the hellevator, but before she entered the next layer of Hell proper, she decided to check on her old friend, the yellow terminal that was always in this place… she switched to the weapons tab and used the points she had racked up from annihilating five out of the nine layers of hell to buy two more weapons: The Sawed-On Shotgun, the Jumpstart Sawblade Launcher and the Firestarter Rocket Launcher, she also bought a soda can of blood. She picked up the red weapons with glee and shoved them into her wings, she also drank the can of blood.
“Oooo new weapons, and they’re my favourite colour!” Ruby squeed. “Does that shotgun have a chainsaw attached to it? That’s so cool!”
“I’m excited to see how I’m going to use these!” Penny smiled widely.
“You can just order blood from a terminal?” Winter quirked an eyebrow. “I mean, I guess it makes sense. There’s no people around anymore to object to it, but still…”
“They gotta drink, man,” Qrow shrugged as he too drank.
“Of course,” Winter shook her head.
HERESY ACT II CRESCENDO /// CRY FOR THE WEEPER
Penny ran through a long, dark corridor of black stone, lit up by the red glow coming from the windows and lined with metal coffins, their interiors clearly burning from within. Penny looked uncomfortably at the burning, screaming coffins as she ran down the hallway. She shook it off and continued forward.
“Even the killing machine finds it inhumane,” Qrow chuckled before grumbling a little himself at the punishment of Heresy.
“All that for God deeming what they believed in wrong,” Glynda shook her head. “It’s depressing to think about,”
Penny ran into a cramped room with four chains at each corner, all transporting coffins upwards to God knows where, two Maurices spawned at the left and right of her, alongside a Swordsmachine that spawned in front of her.
Penny spun up her red revolver and jumped into the fire of the two Maurices, the Swordsmachine’s slashing just missing her as she spun up and shot her red revolver into the hell energy fired at her, it all exploded into a series of beautiful red explosions that sent the stone Demons crashing to the ground, alongside a lantern on the ceiling that both Penny and the Swordsmachine who had just had his shotgun arm blown off by the explosion barely managed to dodge. The sword wielding machine threw his sword at Penny like a boomerang, Penny punched it right back at him and then finished him off with a shot from her revolver.
“Guess those copycats are meant to be strong, considering they made it all the way down here,” Yang said. “I mean, they are copying that weird robot version of me, so I’m not surprised,”
Penny walked into a crossroads of sorts, a large, beheaded red skeleton hung upside down in the middle of the room dripping gore alongside yet more burning coffins leaning against the wall, the only unlocked door, all of which were black and bore the shape of a goat’s face was forward, so that’s where she went… She walked through a dark hallway, killing two Filth who came from the darkness to attack her with an explosion from the knuckleblaster, she then continued forward into the Harvesting Chamber. A large room with lines of pillars made of bloody, screaming souls flowing through them. Some Filth and four Soldiers appeared from the darkness, Penny dashed out of the way of the Soldier’s bullets, let the Filth get close to her and killed them all with an explosion from the knuckleblaster, she then decided to use one of her new weapons. She ejected the chainsaw from her shotgun and began punching it into each of the soldiers as it flew forward from her shotgun, ducking and weaving around their shots as all of them were torn apart.
Four Schisms then appeared around Penny, and a Swordsmachine began to barrel towards her, she dashed out of the way of the yellow machine, punched one of the Schism’s bullets back at it to kill it, and then set up two magnets on the ground, she then shot saws at the magnets for them to circle around and split the remaining husks in half. Four Strays then appeared to snipe Penny from the darkness.
The Swordsmachine continued to chase, occasionally firing easily dodged blasts from its shotgun. Penny smirked as she dashed backwards into one of her sawtraps, shooting her rocket launcher at the yellow machine to damage it as she weaved her way around the Strays’ magic. The Machine let out a groan as it ran straight into the trap, Penny then attached a wire to it using her red sawblade launcher and shot what felt like hundreds of electrified saws into the machine.
ZAP
The Swordsmachine exploded into a current of electricity, killing it and two nearby Strays instantly. Penny then punched one Stray’s hell orb back at it to blow it up, and finished the last one off with her revolver. She walked up the stairs in the corner of the dark room.
“So cooooool!” Ruby cooed
“And brutal, I mean that machine was zapped in like five seconds!” Nora cheered.
“Guess you gotta be brutal for the only place that actually looks like hell,” Qrow shrugged.
The next room was two long platforms situated over a huge pit of lava, a group of chains transporting yet more burning coffins could be seen between them. She jumped on the first platform: A Sentry spawned in front of her, a Maurice spawned behind her, and two Virtues appeared alongside them, one at the front of the room and one near the exit at the far end.
Penny slid into the Sentry first and punched it into the lava below before it could even react. Next, she grappled onto the front end Virtue, her speed allowing her to move past the two holy beams of light and the first volley of Maurice’s hell orbs unscathed as she shot a barrage of overheated nails to kill the Angel. The force of the Angel fracturing launched her towards Maurice, situated right above her she punched the Demon’s bullets downwards at him, then shot a charged up piercer shot to kill him, dashing at the last moment to avoid another heavenly blast. The final Virtue was finished off with an overcharged shotgun blast, sending the glassy parts of its body scattered across the room. Penny walked through the door the Angel was guarding, grabbed the red skull on the other side and found her way back into the crossroads. She walked into the left door, the only place she hadn’t explored yet into a series of winding, twisting hallways, eventually making it to a tiny room with a pillar behind a red pedestal. She placed the skull in its place, the pillar raised to reveal a hole, and Penny dropped further into the Altars of Apostasy, Heresy.
The sky was blood red, and the stone she stood on top of was a hellish black. The buildings in the city skyline were a hellish black as well. The machine found herself outside of a hellish chapel, decorated with the sigils of a satanic goat and with two staircases leading to a raised part of the outside, where the door leading to the chapel itself led. Penny walked up the stairs, but the door locked in front of her, Penny prepared for yet more combat with excitement in her eyes.
“A city, but this seems nothing like the one built in Lust,” Glynda shivered.
“That’s right, the City of Dis was made by Hell as a way to punish sinners in Heresy!” Penny said, just a bit too delightfully at a chance to deposit the information.
“God as if burning forever wasn’t enough, now you gotta live in a city!” Qrow chuckled. “Fate worse than death, I tell ya what,”
“You said that the last time there was a city,” Ruby pouted. “Get better material,”
“All my better material keeps getting me felony charges,” Qrow lamented. “There’s no winning here,”
A Swordsmachine and a Cerberus approached from the middle, while two groups of Filth barrelled up the stairs, two Sentries trailing behind them…
Penny launched a sawblade trap at the two big targets, dodged an explosive apple from the Demon and a shotgun blast from the machine. She then shot gasoline out of her red rocket launcher and set it alight to kill the Filth running towards her.
The two Sentries beeped as they charged up their shots, Penny dashed between the Cerberus and the Swordsmachine, engaging them in close range with her shotguns as the Sentries kept beeping. The combination of heat bullets and the chainsaw cracked the Demon’s shell and stunned the machine.
BEEP BEEP BEEP
BANG
The two bullets completely missed Penny as she dashed away at the last possible moment, but blasted through her two other opponents, killing both at the same time. Penny dashed towards the Sentry to her left, slammed herself into the ground to launch it into the air and then punched it hard through the air and into the red abyss below, she then shot a screw into the second Sentry, dashed towards it as it began to charge up another attack, and punched it right through the machine, killing it instantly.
Another wave spawned, two Maurices, each standing utop the stairs, a Sentry far away from her at the centre, and a Virtue in front of the chapel door guarded by four Strays, two Schisms and two Soldiers.
Penny launched two sawtraps onto the platform, then attached the wire of the red sawblade gun to the Angel as she ran around rapidly to avoid the ungodly amount of hell orbs being fired upon her. Though a few still grazed her, she managed to shoot enough electrified saws into the Angel to kill it, making it burst into electricity that spread through the magnets and demolished every other enemy on the platforms. She dashed to avoid the Sentry’s first bullets, punched the left Maurice’s magic back at it then finished it off with a revolver shot. The right Maurice began to charge up its beam, she used her grappling hook to attach herself to the Maurice as the Sentry charge up its second shot. A charged shotgun blast shot directly into Maurice’s mouth sent it and Penny dropping to the floor, she then threw up a coin just as the Sentry fired.
BANG
PLINK
The Sentry screeched as its high powered shot was launched right back at it, Penny let out a small sigh, and then flung herself into the chapel proper.
“This is her largest battle yet, and she seems to be acing it so far,” Ozpin said. “Though, that’s not surprising given her track record,”
“I aim to impress, or at least this version of me does!” Penny giggled.
“I’m just afraid to see what happens when she encounters me again,” Winter sighed. “I seemed very upset…”
“I’m sure you’ll both be fine!” Weiss smiled, which wasn’t actually all that reassuring, but it made Winter feel a little better.
The Chapel consisted of Four platforms at each end of the room over a bottomless pit, chandeliers hung above each. two Strays and two Soldiers spawned on the left platform, two Strays and two Schisms spawned on the right, and a Maurice spawned on the far platform, guarding the exit.
Penny launched the core of her shotgun into the air, and shot it with her red railcannon as the bullets reached it. The nuke launched hell orbs in every direction, killing everything save for a few Strays who were soon taken out by shot coins as Penny exited the cathedral.
She found herself on a platform outside of the Chapel, overlooking five other platforms connecting by chains floating over the red abyss below, An even more gargantuan, gothic church stood at the other end of the abyss. A Virtue protected by an Idol behind it appeared at the end platform, Penny began to jump across the platforms. The first platform spawned 2 Streetcleaners on it that Penny slammed onto the ground to knock into the abyss below. 2 Soldiers spawned on the next platform that Penny took out with a coin split in half with a shot from her revolver, she dodged a blast from the Virtue as she jumped to the third platform which spawned a small group of filth and 2 Schisms who Penny took out by placing a magnet on the ground and shooting enough saws to tear all of the husks in two. She dodged another blast from the Angel as she moved to the second to last platform. 4 Soldiers spawned around Penny, trying to encircle her before they were torn in half by Penny’s Chainsaw-Shotgun while she slid beneath the bullets and out of the way of the Virtue’s third blast. The Virtue turned an enraged red as Penny jumped for the final platform, she broke the Idol with her fists then shot a burst of overheated nails at the Virtue before it could hit her with another blast, killing it and opening the door to the Halls of Sacrilegious Remains…
A long hallway lined with screaming, burning coffins, as Penny began to walk down it she heard the familiar voice of Winter calling out to her, seething with hatred…
“Machine, I know you’re here,”
“Well, looks like you don’t have to wait too long,” Qrow chuckled.
“And she sounds… very upset,” Winter sighed. “I’m not sure what I expected,”
“Yeah, she really hasn’t calmed down at all since Penny beat her,” Nora said. “And got her banished from Heaven, and really ruined her entire life,”
“I think she gets it,” Ren said.
“They’re gonna fight again!” Ruby cheered. “It’s gonna be so cool!”
“Ruby, that’s… okay well it’s not actually my sister,” Weiss said. “But I still feel sisterly about her!”
“Well, that’s nice to hear at least,” Winter said.
Penny rolled her eyes as she continued to walk down the hallway, Winter still seething.
“I can smell the insolent stench of your bloodstained hands, I await you in the chamber below…”
Penny walked into the final room. Dimly lit with pillars around the middle, and stairwards leading to a platform at the furthest end, which held the exit elevator.
“COME TO ME!”
As Winter shouted out, 2 Hideous Masses spawned at the top of the stairs, Penny dashed up and prepared to fight. She attached a magnet to the one on the right and began to shot sawblades and nails into it as she dashed around the mortar fire from the Demons’ hands, two of the yellow hell orbs hit the Mass in the stomach as it flipped over, killing it. Penny launched herself over to the Mass on the right as a hail of hell orbs from 4 Soldiers that had spawned alongside a Swordsmachine just barely missed her. She shot a drill into the Hideous Mass’ stomach, it tried to launch the spike from its tail at her in retaliation, but it was punched back. Then Penny punched the drill through the beast, causing it to explode into blood.
4 Strays spawned on the pillars, while 2 Cerberi began to slowly walk up the stairs to the platform. Penny spun her revolver around and shot it, the bullet bounded off the walls and hit all 4 Soldiers alongside the Swordsmachine. The Soldiers died, and the machine tossed its sword at Penny, who dodged and returned by emptying a round of nails into it. The Cerberi threw their apples at Penny, who jumped to dodge them, the explosion blew the machine to pieces.
Penny used her hook to grapple onto one of the Cerberi, she shot a cannonball from her rocket launcher, then punched it to destroy the Demon instantly, this enraged the second one as she dashed backwards to dodge the energy that had been launched by the Strays, who she soon killed by shooting four individual coins.
The Cerberus dashed towards Penny, but the machine sidestepped it and shot an energised bullet from her revolver to damage it, then followed up with three shots from her shotgun, blowing a hole through the Demon’s head, and opening up the door to the elevator, which Penny jumped through after wiping imaginary sweat off of her brow.
“Well, if she wasn’t lying we’re gonna be seeing Ice Queen get her ass kicked aga-” Qrow was jabbed in the arm by Winter. “Ow, what? It’s true,”
“I hope Penny isn’t too injured during this,” Winter sighed. “Anger can be a very powerful thing,”
“I mean she totally stomped her last time,” Ruby cheered. “So, Penny should be fine… oh and Winter too I guess,”
“Well, that’s reassuring,” Weiss sighed alongside her sister.
HERESY ACT II CLIMAX // AESTHETICS OF HATE
Penny walked out of the elevator into a black cathedral bathed in red, hateful light. The first room of which had a high ceiling and six, arching pillars leading to a platform on the roof… to high up to jump to, so Penny elected to move forward…
She could hear Winter nearby playing the organ calmly, her voice still seething with hatred. “Limbo, Lust, all gone… with Gluttony soon to follow,”
Penny walked past a pile of empty coffins, then jumped across a group of platforms to a wall with the dead baked into it for her to climb up.
“Your kind knows nothing but hunger, purged all life on the upper layers and yet they remain unsatiated… as do you…”
“She’s still so racist,” Qrow sighed.
“Towards Robots specifically too? Shameful,” Ruby sighed and shook her head, though she was smirking.
Winter shook her head, calming herself down.
Penny was lead to a series of hallways, which she swung across using the whiplash eventually leading her to the raised part of the first room she found herself in…
“Now all that remains is perfect hatred…” Winter said through gritted teeth, she then began to play the organ even harder than before as Penny grappled to the other section of the platform, holding a door with a yellow skull on it, on the other side was a room with the floor covered in bodies, some praying towards the organ on the far end that Winter was playing she was on a raised section above a small bit of stairs which Penny soon walked up.
SLAM
Winter stopped playing, her whole body shaking with rage as she began to float from her organ, facing the machine that had taken everything from her
“Machine, I will cut you down, break you apart, splay the gore of your profane form across the STARS!” Penny began to back away whilst holding her revolver. “I will grind you down until the very sparks cry for mercy! My hands will RELISH ending you HERE AND NOW!” She pulled both of her swords from their sheaths and rushed down the Machine, knocking both of them onto the body covered floor below.
“NOTHING BUT SCRAP!” Winter mocked as she lifted her sword up to stab it into Penny’s chest, but the robot slid out of the way and shot a few coins into Winter’s side. The Angel flew into the air and tossed her swords at Penny who tried to avoid them but found that they tracked her every move, causing them to blow up right in her face. New blades appeared in Winter’s hands as she dashed towards Penny, who was hurtling in the air but soon found her balance, allowing her to dodge two swings from the Angel, then parry the third one with a punch to the gut. Penny landed 2 shots from her shotguns as the two landed on the ground.
“TIME TO RIGHT-” Winter readied her whole body for a swing that just barely missed the Machine. “MY-” She hit the second swing, slashing Penny across the chest and sending her rolling backwards. “WRONG!” She threw her swords, but Penny got up just in time to punch the projectile into the wall.
Penny began to fire both bursts of her nailgun into the Angel as she began to once again rush her down with her blades, Penny managed to dodge most while hitting her adversary with the nails, with only a few slashes making dents on Penny’s chest and stomach. Penny prepared to fire her nailgun, but found Winter grabbing her with both hands and stabbing her repeatedly in the stomach the second she tried. The Angel threw her to the floor and laughed.
“YOU NEED MORE POWE-”
ZZAP!
The Nails exploded into electricity as Penny hit the Angel full force with the railcannon, however the Angel still stood form and slammed herself downwards towards the machine, who dashed out of the way and attached a wire from the electric sawblade launcher, Penny launched enough electrified saws into Winter’s form to cause an explosion of electricity that launched the Angel staggered into the air, where Penny then juggled her with rockets from her rocket launcher.
The hue of hateful red throughout the cathedral gave way to a more calming blue, as an intense, yet satisfied smile grew on Winter’s face. She stopped in the air and looked down at her foe.
“IS THAT THE BEST YOU’VE GOT!?” She laughed as she created a ring of protective swords around herself made of heavenly light as she teleported down to the ground, preparing her next attack.
“Oh damn, Ice Queen’s having fun with something for once!” Qrow chuckled. “I didn’t even know she could do that!”
“It’s an interesting development for sure…” Ozpin nodded.
“Wait, so did Penny piss of an Angel enough for an entire layer of Hell to turn red?” Yang said with a small chuckle. “Goddamn, losing literally once really pissed her off,”
“Well she doesn’t seem pissed anymore…” Blake shrugged.
“I’ve never had a fight like this before!” Winter chuckled excitedly as she teleported behind the machine, her blade and the protective blades surrounding her all hitting at once, Penny ducked under a series of slashes and punched over the circle of summoned swords once it was over as a counterattack then proceeded with another series of blasts from her shotguns. The swords suddenly surrounded Penny, paused then all shot towards her at once. Penny jumped over, but was knocked out of the air by Winter once again dashing into her, Penny overpumped her shotgun, the ensuing explosion knocking both women to the floor.
Winter laughed again. “What is this FEELING!?” She launched herself at Penny with a heavy swing of her sword, dodged by Penny dashing to the side. Winter switched up and teleported into the air, slamming down onto Penny, but that was dodged by Penny sliding away at the last moment, then shooting a drill straight into the Angel, Penny then launched herself towards her foe while shooting a cannonball into her, she punched the ball and the screw straight through Winter; who summoned another series of glowing swords that surrounded the Machine as she teleported to another corner of the room.
“Come on Machine, fight me like an ANIMAL!” Winter laughed as the summoned swords paused their spinning in preparation to launch themselves at Penny’s neck, the Machine punched them as a group at Winter who narrowly dodged with another teleport as the Machine turned around to fire upon her new position with another burst of nails and then a ricochetting shot from her revolver that hit Winter back and forth as it bounced off the walls. Penny dashed in, but Winter teleported to her side and slashed her to the floor, then slashed again, then teleported away and threw her swords-
TWINK
Penny punched the swords right back at Winter, she let out a yelp and teleported in front of the organ, kneeling on the ground in pain. Penny aimed her revolver at her, but didn’t fire.
“TWICE!? Beaten by an object, TWICE!?” Winter yelled. “I’ve only known the taste of victory, but this taste is… is this my blood?”
“Is she gonna get even more mad?” Nora asked. “Is that even possible?”
“Guess we’re going to find out…” Winter mumbled.
“I-I’ve never felt such… such relief?” Winter began to float in the air. “I-I need some time to think,” She disappeared in a brilliant flash of light, just as the platform holding the organ raised to reveal the Elevator out of her. Penny heard Winter for the last time in the middle layers as she jumped down…
“May your woes be many…” Winter let out a chuckle. “And your days few,”
“Oh, she uhh… that was unexpected,” Nora said with a hmmph.
“Well, at least I’ve calmed down a little,” Winter said. “That’s a positive,”
“Still got your ass kicked again,” Ruby chuckled.
Winter sighed. “There can never just be positives, can there?”
“Not with you, no,” Qrow chuckled too.
---
Winter was sitting around a flickering campfire on The Moon, the first layer of Heaven with the dried, rotten Earth in the sky above. She stared at the campfire, silently introspecting about her life. How many she had killed, the terror she had embodied, who she had been working for. Two defeats by the hand of a machine had made her think…
She tried to put the pieces together as the fire flickered, fresh fuel not helping in making the fire glow even a bit brighter, just prolonging its already weak embers…
Winter drew her blades as the fire began to flicker out, she understood that the masses would not listen to words, she’d need to do something drastic. So she flew further into Heaven…
“Guess she’s given up on Heaven,” Qrow shrugged. “Following her own path, maybe our Ice Queen has something to-”
“I’m doing just fine with the military, Qrow,” Winter glared at the man.
“Sure…” Qrow grumbled.
“I have a feeling my sister is going to do something… brutal,” Weiss winced. “It’d fit this universe, wouldn’t it?”
“I dunno, I’ve just been watching Penny kill stuff,” Ruby shrugged.
Weiss shook her head. “Of course…”
Blood and the stench of death stained the Auditorium, the opulent surfaces of the place littered with the corpses of the once might Council, their blood dripping down Winter’s blades. The last Councillor backs up against a wall, scrambling for words with panicked breaths as Winter drew ever closer.
“W-Wait! You cannot do this, our status forbids it!” The Councillor shouted. “This is treason, heresy, murder! We are the supreme authority, our law commands you!”
“You command nothing, your words hold no power over me or anyone else,” Winter said. “Lest you truly believe you can talk my blade back into its sheath,”
“You show ‘em!” Qrow chuckled.
“You’re very excited to watch me slaughter defensive people, huh?” Winter deadpanned.
Qrow shrugged. “She’s being cool, what else am I supposed to do?”
“B-But the people are on our side! The citizens of Heaven know that we are just!”
Winter shook her head. “The masses only follow you out of fear and desperation. I will show them there is nothing to be afraid of, for there is no species nor origin, vested rank or holy status that will stop the sharp edge of a sword,” She declared. “We all bleed the same blood, and the cushions of your thrones have made you weak and impotent,”
The Councillor continued to beg. “P-Please Winter, see reason! The Council follows the will of the Father, you seek to go against our creato-”
“Face it, brother, God is dead. The fire is gone, you’re chasing phantoms,”
Winter towered over the robed Councillor, she raised her sword for the final cut as he blurted out his final, stammering argument.
“B-But the father’s light, without me you cannot hope to reconnect with it! I-i-if you kill me, you’ll be dead within a matter of hours!”
Winter smirked. “I know…” She slashed the man’s head clean off, then picked it up and walked outside of the auditorium.
She displayed the severed head of the Councillor wordlessly for all of Heaven to see before she prepared to leave it for the very last time, a silent message that rang out across the cosmos…
“She showed ‘em,” Qrow said with a shrug.
“Well, at the very least she doesn’t hate Penny anymore,” Winter said. “That’s one positive, I suppose,”
“Yes, before this version of me’s fight with her, this Winter hadn’t had a truly equal fight before,” Penny explained. “Being beaten twice awakened a sort of passion within her, one that wishes to fight for her own beliefs,”
“That’s great!” Weiss smiled. “Even if she did have to kill about 13 or so people for it,”
“Ehhh, that Council didn’t seem like the best people anyway,” Yang waved her hand.
“If they’re already in Heaven, where do they go after they die?” Blake asked.
Penny shrugged. Slays also shrugged.
“Well, that’s helpful,” Glynda sighed.
Penny sat in the elevator, and instinctively held onto the terminal in the wall as the entire thing began to move sideways and shake all over again, just like in Gluttony. Eventually, it stopped and Penny left the elevator into a street of the City of Dis, surrounded by black Skyscrapers with red windows, and a rain of stale blood falling upon her. She moved forward through the street, eventually reaching the entrance of a dark, cramped room with the rest of the city on the other side, once she entered the room however, four Cerberi spawned and threw their apples all at once, the explosion sent Penny to the floor as the Statues prepared to stomp on her.
“Oh, I uh… thought it’d just be her going through the city and then fighting another Flesh Prison,” Ruby mumbled. “Like last time,”
“This is… clearly different,” Penny said as she looked at the screen inquisitively.
“Clearly whatever’s in here is worth guarding,” Ozpin said. “Worrying…”
“She’ll be fiiine, probably,” Ruby chuckled.
Penny pushed herself into the air and shot three magnets on the ground, then filled their orbit with saws that ground at the feet of the statues. Next, she shot an electrified beam from her railcannon that hit two of the Statues who had bunched together, both were destroyed in several sparking explosions of electricity. The other two Cerberi enraged as a Ferryman, dressed in the same robes that Glynda had been dressed in entered the fray.
Penny dashed away from the two Cerberi dashing at her, then parried the Ferryman’s attempts to spear her with his oar with a firm punch to the chest, causing lightning to strike the tiny room and electrify the magnets once again, killing one of the Cerberi in the process. Penny dodged two swings from the Ferryman, an orb from the Statue and shot the core of her shotgun in the air, then shot it with her revolver to cause a mini nuke that killed the final Cerberus. Now she could focus purely on the Ferryman-
BWAMMM
Or not, two beams of holy light came from the sky, hitting Penny as she unloaded a burst of nails into the Ferryman, which were mostly dodged by the agile Husk. It jumped into the air to prepare another attack, but that was countered with a punch by the machine, then two busts of her shotguns that finally killed the Ferryman. The door opened, and Penny shot her electric railcannon into the two Virtues shatter them like glass… she then walked out into what would be her hardest challenge yet, a blue skull pedestal locking a door to her left, and a bridge street over a hazardous river of crushed, bloody souls to her right.
“That was… intense,” Ruby let out a breath. “This uh, this seems way harder than the last extra area,”
“Indeed, I have a feeling this will be Penny’s hardest challenge yet,” Ozpin stated.
“I’m sure she can handle it!” Penny gave a big smile. “She’s combat ready!”
“Let’s hope,” Winter said.
She ran onto the bridge street in search of the blue skull key: Four Schisms spawned throughout, alongside a Swordsmachine and 2 Sentries that spawned in front of a building. A Mindflayer blessed by an idol Penny couldn’t see also appeared.
The Sentries dug themselves into the ground, Penny jumped and dashed to avoid the volley of projectiles being shot by the Schisms. She then slammed herself down next to a Sentry to launch it into the air, then punched it into the river of souls with her red arm. Once she landed on the ground, she dodged one slash from the Swordsmachine, then parried it, enraging it while staggering it. She dashed at the last moment to avoid the Sentry’s bullet, then waited for the Mindflayer to launch a volley of Hell Orbs, punching them into the Swordsmachine to do some extra damage to it, staggering it once again. Penny jumped over a beam from the Mindflayer as she shot three magnets throughout the bridge and surrounded them with saws to finish off the Schisms, she punched a burst of exploding shotgun bullets at the Swordsmachine to kill it as the Sentry and Mindflayer began to charge up another shot. Penny punched away yet another burst of Mindflayer’s hell orbs as the Sentry finally prepared its shot… which was reflected by a hastily thrown coin back at the Machine, killing it and opening a door further into the City of Dis…
Past the bridge, Penny walked into a tight corridor. The Mindflayer followed her through as a Cerberus appeared at the far end of the hall, 2 Streetcleaners appeared behind her.
Penny grappled herself onto the Cerberus, then punched a cannonball through the Demon to kill it instantly. She then waited for the Mindflayer floating slightly above the two Streetcleaners to fire another volley of Hell Orbs, once the Feminine Machine’s projectiles had reached Penny, she punched them into the Streetcleaners to kill them. Penny exited the Alley into a Courtyard with three protective glass boxes utop a pedestal on the far end, two contained Idols while the middle one contained the Blue Skull…
The Mindflayer continued to follow her as another one appeared, alongside a Sentry standing in front of the glass boxes and Two Swordsmachines that began to rush Penny down.
“God, those Blue things are annoying,” Qrow grumbled.
“There’s two of them,” Ruby mumbled. “And they’re like… completely immortal,”
“Penny seems to be using them to hurt her other foes, however.” Ozpin added.
Ruby shrugged. “Guess she has to make the best out of it,”
Penny grappled onto the Sentry and punched a cannonball into it to take it out instantly, she then focused down the two Melee Machines, setting up a magnet orbited by saws to chip away at them as she dashed twice to avoid two separate bursts from the Mindflayers. She parried the slash of one Swordsmachine while dashing away from the other, staggering the former while retreating from the latter. She jumped over a beam from the first Mindflayer, but was hit back into the Swordsmachine by the second. In a panic, Penny shot her electrified railcannon into the two Swordsmachines, zapping both of them and destroying one in the process… the second was soon killed via a burst of overheated Nails that overwhelmed it.
“Yeah! Now she can-”
Two Virtues spawned high above everything else in the room, floating above two Maurices that spawned alongside them.
“Fuck!” Yang shouted. “This room really can’t give Penny a break, huh?”
Penny let out an electronic groan and grappled herself towards the first Virtue, unloading her second clip of nails into it to shatter it, the impact launched her towards the second Virtue as she overpumped her shotgun and fired, dashing to avoid the ensuing explosion that annihilated the Virtue and pushed back the bursts of projectiles that had been shot at her by her four opponents into the nearby walls. Penny slammed to the floor and punched the hell orbs shot by the Maurice closest to her back at the Demon, sending it crashing to the ground. She avoided an explosive beam from the second Maurice as one of the Mindflayers tried to strike her from behind while the other shot another volley of homing projectiles. She dodged the attempted surprise attack and punched the projectiles into Maurice, damaging it enough to enrage it. The demon charged up a second beam, but Penny launched herself towards it, shotgun in hand and blew up the Demon from the inside with the burst of heat.
Finally, the glass cases holding the Idols opened, and Penny wasted no time destroying the protective statues with her hands.
She shot an electrified shot of her revolver, but the Mindflayer she shot it at teleported out of the way and managed to shoot a beam of energy at her. Enraged, Penny shot the screwdriver of her railcannon into her to prevent the Mindflayer from teleporting as she threw four coins in the air and shot a ricochetting shot from her revolver, the bullet damaging the Mindflayer’s shell enough to enrage it, but it didn’t even have a second to retaliate as Penny punched the screw through her body into the second Mindflayer who now found herself unable to teleport as her fellow Machine screeched and exploded. The Mindflayer launched a volley of projectiles, but found them punched back at her. Penny then grappled herself onto the Busty Machine and shot a volley of nails, and then for the finishher, overpumped her shotgun and shot it, the ensuing explosion causing the Mindflayer to also explode… soon after, the glass casing around the blue skull opened, allowing Penny to grab it with the Whiplash, she let out a frustrated sigh of relief as she left for the Bridge Street once again…
“Hell yeah!” Yang cheered. “The Bimbo Bot 5000 or whatever is gone!”
“You’re one to talk…” Adam grumbled under his breath.
As she walked into the Bridge Street skull in hand, however, two absolutely massive, yet mutilated husks fell from the sky onto the street, they wore loincloths, had blindfolds over their seemingly cut out eyes and were holding Maurices in their hands like weapons. The two Belladonnian Insurrectionists began their assault.
“They kind look like how I looked back in Greed…” Blake squinted her eyes at the screen.
“They must’ve been part of my insurrection!” Ghira said proudly. “Which failed, but that’s besides the point!”
Penny covered them in oil shot from her rocket launcher, then hit both Husks with a rocket to set them on fire. Before she could do anything else she was bashed into a wall by the Maurice in the second one’s hand while trying to dodge a swipe from the first. Penny took potshots at the first Husk with her revolvers, running up to him as he remained on the ground, sizing Penny up as the second one jumped in the air and prepared to slam the Demon in his hand down on his opponent, it was punched back into him sending him falling on his ass as Penny unloaded a burst of burning nails into the first Insurrectionist which prepared to bash her with the Demon in his hand, Penny parried that too. The Insurrectionist was then hit with a cannonball that Penny shot, causing it to explode and finally send the first of the Husks dead on the ground. Penny rushed down the second just as he finally got up, she slid under a wide swing of the Maurice and returned with blasts of heat from her shotgun, then a ricochetting shot from her revolver and bounced of the walls and made several holes through the Husk’s thick frame, eventually killing it in an explosion of blood as well.
“How’d they even get in Heresy?” Ruby asked. “I thought all of Blake’s dad’s guys were in Greed,”
“I don’t have anything on that,” Penny said. “But, they do appear to be… guarding something inside of the city,”
“Guarding something?” Blake quirked an eyebrow.
“Indeed, something powerful too…” Penny trailed off.
Penny placed the skull onto the pedestal, the gate it opened lead to a spinning corridor of blood and souls with two platforms parallel to eachother around the centre, and a third, raised one right at the end leading to another gate. Two Virtues and Two Maruices spawned on the centre platforms, while a single Sentry spawned on the end.
Penny launched the core of her shotgun into the tunnel, then hit it with the red railcannon to create a nuke that damaged the Maurices and launched the Virtues into the walls, killing them before they became a problem. Penny soon used the whiplash to grapple herself onto the Sentry and kill it with two blasts of her shotgun, moving fast enough to avoid the Maurice’s bursts of projectiles as she did. Both Demons began to charge up a beam at the same time she grappled onto the one to her left and took it out with a shotgun blast right in the mouth just as it fired its beam, sending it to the ground. Penny was hit by the second one’s blast however, and launched into the painful wall of souls, she launched herself off and fired off a burst of nails as she approached the last Maurice, killing it, then moving onto the next blood hallway.
Two Cerberi and Two Sentries appeared on the parallel platforms, while a Maurice stood above the platform leading to the next room. Penny launched another core nuke that launched the Machines into the roof of the blood corridor, killing the both of them instantly and severely damaging the two Cerberi. She then spun up her red revolver as the Maurice launched a volley of projectiles, using the ricochetting bullet to make the bullets explode close enough to the Cerberi to finish them off and enrage the Maurice, which began to charge up a beam, Penny grappled herself to the Demon and killed it with a final blast from her shotgun.
“They’re very dedicated to keeping Penny out,” Glynda mused. “I’m afraid of what’s on the other side of all of these enemies,”
Penny entered the final room before whatever was being guarded, the outer perimeter of the room was raised, and 2 idols were held in individual glass cases.
A Stalker, blessed by one of the idols appeared alongside 4 Strays on the perimiter and a Ferryman and 2 Swordsmachines that spawned in front of Penny.
“The sand guys again!?” Ruby pouted. “This sucks!”
“And he’s immortal,” Blake added.
“That’s even more unfair…” Ruby somehow pouted even harder.
Penny dashed backwards, forcing her three melee opponents to chase after her and stop them from being covered in sand by the Stalker. She hit a ricochetting shot from her revolver to kill 2 of the Strays and damage the enemies giving chase, The Ferryman speared Penny in the chest, then attempted an overhead slam that was parried by Penny who then sent a burst of nails at the two machines before she attached the wire of the red sawblade launcher to one of them as both attemped wild swings at her, one of which was parried and the other of which was avoided by sliding under it as she shot sawblade after sawblade into the duo, the eventual burst of electricity caused both to burst into blood and electricity. The Ferryman tried to spear Penny again, but the machine dashed to the side to avoid it and returned fire with two shotgun shots as the Ferry man swiped Penny with his oar, then slammed it down on her head, he attempted a third hit, but Penny punched the oar as it made contact, knocking it out of the Ferryman’s hand. The husk was finished off with a pumped up shot from her shotgun, the remaining strays were then finished off with coins.
A Hideous Mass appeared in the centre of the room protected by the 2nd idol. Four Sentries spawned as well, each on one corner of the room. The Stalker quickly covered the Demon in sand as Penny dashed to the first Sentry as all four began to charge up a shot. She killed the first one with two coins, then a piercing shot from her revolver, she jumped towards the second, avoiding two mortar shots from the Hideous Mass as the Sentries finished charging up their shot, she threw a coin and managed to hit the machine she was going after at the cost of being shot right through the chest. She jumped over a shockwave caused by the Hideous Mass slamming down onto the floor as she reached the Sentry that had managed to hit her, sliding under a kick from it and then unloading enough nails into the machine to kill it. Penny jumped towards the final sentry and finished it off by slamming into the ground to launch it into the air, then shooting it twice with her rocket launcher in two beautiful, red explosions.
Three Cerberi spawned near the Hideous Mass and the Stalker, while three Virtues spawned high in the sky. Penny let out a frustrated groan as she grappled herself onto the middle Virtue, killing it with a burst of nails and letting the shattering of the Angel launch her into the second Virtue, who she killed with an overcharged shot from her shotgun. She used the explosion to both dodge the Virtue’s beam and the harpoon that the Hideous Mass had launched at her as it launched her towards the final Virtue, which she finished off with another overpumped shotgun blast, which she dashed past to avoid damage. She noticed that the three Cerberi were already covered in sand, meaning that she couldn’t heal off of them, she also noticed that the Idol blessing the Hideous Mass was no longer protected by a case. She slammed down near the Idol and broke it with her hand. She jumped over a shockwave caused by the Hideous Mass as the other three Demons began to slowly approach, Penny shot out the core of her shotgun and hit it with the railcannon, the Core Nuke damaged all Demons in the room, notably cracking the Cerberi. Penny dashed around the room to avoid getting close to the Cerberi as she launched a series of magnets towards the Mass, and then a bunch of saws to tear through it’s flesh and tail, it tried to flip onto its back in a rage, but the saws managed to kill it long before it could do anything. Penny proceeded to pelt the Cerberi with rockets, the explosions managing to further crack and eventually kill one of them. The two remaining Demons became enraged, and threw their apples in a desperate attempt to hit Penny, but the robot sidestepped them and shot a cannonball at them, then shot it to kill the second Cerberus, the final one threw his apple again, but it was firmly punched back at him, finally finishing off the last wave of the room. The case holding the Idol opened up, Penny jumped over to punch it, then used the Whiplash to pull a limping, yet panicking Stalker towards her. She punched him straight in the chest with the knuckleblaster and blew him into blood and sand, the door at the back of the arena opened.
“Yeah, make it pay sister!” Nora shouted. “Sorry, I’ve always hated sand,”
“Why?” Ren asked.
Nora shrugged. “Don’t like a bunch of small things, they could overwhelm me,”
Penny found herself being lowered by a chain elevator into a room with a security gate situated behind a panel, Penny walked up to it and disabled all three locks…
She walked in front of another panel standing in front of a locked boss door, it read “ARE YOU SURE?”
Penny clicked yes.

“That is… not the right thing to put after a warning,” Weiss mumbled. “I have an awful feeling about this,”
“No choice but for her to go forward,” Ruby shrugged.
“Let’s see what they were guarding,” Ozpin said.
The lights flickered on as Penny entered the octagon shaped room, the walls covered in doors containing empty cells, and smack dab in the middle was the Flesh Panopticon, a cube of flesh and teeth and eyes on a stand designed to contain… someone. It roared as it stared down at Penny, spawning a circle of yellow eyes around itself that floated in the air, and stared down at Penny alongside the Cube.
“Another Flesh Prison?” Ruby said.
“Indeed, the Flesh Panopticon is far stronger, and can use its minions to prevent beings from healing,” Penny said. “Including machines,”
“So Penny can’t use her main advantage in combat? Lovely,” Weiss rolled her eyes.
Penny grappled onto the Cube and shot magnets, circulating saws and nails into it to damage it. It glowed white, and Penny narrowly dodged a beam of heavenly light by grappling onto one of the yellow eyes and then killing it with her shotgun, she then slammed towards the ground to avoid a horizontal beam aimed straight at the now dead eye. She then began to dash and jump around the room, punching shotgun blasts into the Panopticon as it glowed yellow and began to launch a barrage of yellow Hell Mortar Orbs at her, the trail exploding behind her and just narrowly missing as she grappled onto the eyes around the arena to aid in dodging, also allowing her to blast them with her shotgun to take them out quickly. After taking out a couple more eyeballs and dodging another blast of heavenly light, she grappled onto the cube and began to wail on it with saws and shotgun blasts, just as she prepared her railcannon, however, the Panopticon began to glow green as if attempting to heal-
“This prison… to hold, ME!?” A husky voice boomed throughout the room. Despite lacking any kind of sentience or intelligence, the Panopticon’s eyes widened in pure dread…
“Honey, that’s you!” Kali proudly declared as she wrapped her arms around her husband. “You were dangerous enough to need an entire city’s worth of creatures protecting you,”
“Welp, Penny’s probably gonna kill you, dad,” Blake said matter of factly. “Sorry,”
Ghira shrugged. “Oh well, I’ve already died in this universe anyway,”
“Two times, actually!” Penny said. “Cause you died and went to hell, and then got killed by Winter!”
“Thanks for reminding me…” Winter grumbled.
Ghira forced the Panopticon’s mouth open, Penny watched as it burst into a torrential rain of blood as the man’s soul slammed to the floor, leaving a powerful shockwave in his wake.
He had the body of a strongman, all strength with no care for aesthetics. His body was a translucent purple with blood covering his hands and feet. A yellow glow and red facial features where his head would be if it hadn’t been cut off. He was twice the size of Penny to boot
PRIME SECOND /// WAIT OF THE WORLD
“A visitor? Hmm… indeed, I have slept long enough,” Ghira declared as he straightened his wide stance. “The Kingdom of Heaven has long since forgotten my name, and I am EAGER to make them remember,”
“Oh, I guess he has no reason to attack Penny then,” Blake shrugged. “False alarm-”
“However, the blood of Ozpin stains your hands, and I must admit I’m curious about your skills… weapon. And so, before I tear down the cities and CRUSH the armies of Heaven. You shall do as an appetiser,” Ghira declared, beckoning Penny towards him. “Come forth, Child of Man… and die,”
“Oh, he just wants to fight, understandable,” Blake mumbled and sighed.
Ghira lurched forward and slammed Penny to the floor, firmly grasping her face as he smirked, in response, Penny overpumped her shotgun and used the explosion to launch the man away, releasing herself from his grip.
“NICE TRY!” Ghira chuckled, jumping right back into the fray as Penny took potshots at her coins to damage the Soul as he ran at her with kicks she just barely dodged by sliding beneath them, Ghira noticed and clapped his hands together to force Penny off of her feet and right into a hard punch right to the face, which launched the machine right at the wall.
“YOU CAN’T ESCAPE!” Ghira rushed towards the stunned Penny and prepared to punch her once again, but Penny dashed out of the way of the first one and returned with a blast of her shotgun, she dodged the second one and did the same, she then parried the third one by punching him right in the hand sending the kinetic energy from his punch right back at him. Ghira cleared his nonexistent throat and smiled. As he dashed forward, fist out and ready. Penny parried it with another firm punch, but failed to notice the yellow glint coming from behind her, which soon exploded and launched her right into Ghira’s chest, he used this to slam her to the floor and stomp on her, Penny rolled out of the way and stood back up, emptying her nailgun into Ghira, though he simply dodged to the side and prepared an overhead strike that Penny narrowly dodged with a dash to the side and countered with two shotgun blasts.
Ghira dashed backwards and curled into himself, glowing a bright yellow. Penny took this chance to shoot him with a ricochetting and piercing shot from his revolvers, Ghira’s body made a great explosion with his body and slammed Penny right into the wall once again. Ghira jumped towards the machine and punched her further into the wall over and over, her chassis being slowly bashed in by the Warlord.
BZZZT
A burst of electricity from her railcannon caused the nails covering Ghira’s body to burst into electricity, forcing the man and the machine back to the floor.
“Oh jeez, this is my hardest battle yet!” Penny yelped excitedly.
“You’re doing so well, honey!” Kali cooed. “You’ll be tearing apart Heaven in no time!”
“You seem a tad too happy about that, dear,” Ghira chuckled.
Ghria laughed. “KEEP IT COMIN!” He launched himself towards Penny to clothesline her, attempting to force the robot into a bear hug, but Penny managed to sidestep and pelt the man with more coin amplified shots from her revolvers. Ghira turned around and roundhouse kicked Penny in the face, then tried to throw another full strength punch, but found himself firmly parried by the machine who then returned with a burst of nails, she began to dash around the room to force Ghira to work harder for his attacks.
Ghira jumped into the air and slammed his whole bodyweight into the ground, causing a shockwave that would’ve forced Penny off of her feet if she hadn’t jumped into the air. She launched a cannonball at Ghira in response, then attempted to blow it up with her revolver, but missed and merely shot the man in the chest instead.
Ghira prepared another charge, Penny placed a magnet on the ground and surrounded it with as many sawblades as she could, forcing Ghira to take damage to his elbow made contact with Penny’s chest, she managed to stop her momentum before she hit a wall again which allowed her to dodge the overhead slam that The Warlord attempted by slamming herself to the ground. She shoot a rocket at the now airborne Ghira, knocking him to the floor, she then shot a core nuke right in the face of the man, knocking him on his back and shooting him across the Prison.
“YES, THAT’S IT!” Ghira chuckled as blood further stained his hands and feet, a bushy red beard and dreadlocks grew from the shining sun where his head was.
“Did he grow a beard mid combat?” Qrow blinked twice.
“His body appears to have further developed under the stress of combat,” Penny explained.
“I think it looks sexy~” Kali giggled.
Blake sighed. “Mom, stop. Please, I’m begging you,”
Kali shrugged and smirked in response.
Penny pulled out her shogun to continue attacking, her face now in a similar smile to Ghira’s, but the man hit her with a left hook into a right hook into a left hook and then into a stomp that was parried by Penny punching him in the gut, then using the chainsaw attached to one of her shotguns to chip away at the man’s form. Ghira ran behind her and roundhouse kicked Penny to the floor, who punched the chainsaw off of her shotgun with the knuckblaster, sending it through her combatant.
“DESTROY!” Ghira proudly yelled as he barely missed a punch to Penny’s stomach, he then summoned an explosion behind her that Penny dodged by jumping to the other side of the Prison. He then curled into himself with a smirk, Penny used the whiplash to grapple herself and punch him right in the stomach once again, preventing another devastating explosion.
Penny dashed to the side of a clap, then returned with a cannonball to Ghira’s chest, which she then proceeded to punch through him, she launch herself backwards in an attempts to avoid a series of punches from the Man, but was eventually hit with the last one which was followed up with a clap to Penny’s ears, Ghira shouting “BE GONE!” As he stunned her.
“THIS WILL HURT!” He warned with a smirk as he curled into himself and once again began to go, he almost managed to explode once again as Penny regained her footing and punched him square in the gut, he cleared his throat as he was hit. Penny used the brief window to slam herself to the ground, punch two coins and then shoot a third with a piercing shot from her revolver to maximise the damage of the electric blast as it went clean through Ghira’s stomach. She then punched a few shotgun blasts at the man for good measure as he menacingly powerwalked towards his opponent, remaining in a boxing stance.
“NICE TRY!” He congratulated, as he beckoned his opponent further towards him, he then dashed towards her for yet another flurry of punches that missed as Penny dashed to sidestep them, then retaliated with a burst of burning nails into Ghira’s side, the man retaliated himself with a backhand to Penny’s face, pushing her back and leaving her vulnerable to a jab directly to the chassis. He then opened his hands for another clap, but Penny punched him in in the hand just as his hands attempted to close in on her heads then jumped backwards, threw all four of the coins she had in the air and shot them with her railcannon. The electric attack hit Ghira hard, and the nails that exploded throughout his entire body hit him harder.
Though injured, the Warlord still stood firm. Penny rushed down him and attached the wire from her red sawblade launcher to him, then shot magnets and saws around him. The second electrical burst combined with the saws chipping away at his body caused him to let out one last groan of pain as the room went dark around him.
“Ah… so concludes the life and times of King Ghira, a fitting end to an existence defined by futile struggle…” Ghira sighed as he spoke.
“Seems she won,” Yang said with a smile. “Still, I can’t help but feel bad for-
“And I don’t regret a SECOND OF IT!” Ghira let out a deranged laugh, light shooting out and bursting from his body as he was lifted towards the sky before being destroyed entirely.
Penny let out overexerted huffs as she slowly trudged towards the elevator that opened up at the far end of the prison, smiling, yet tired from her hardest fight yet…
“Oh nevermind, he was having a blast the entire time,” Yang chuckled.
“He was having a blast so to speak during his rebellion too!” Penny added. “Even though he knew it would fail, because the act of resistance itself was the point,”
“I can’t imagine…” Weiss mumbled. “Working towards a goal knowing that it will fail,”
“Damn,” Blake responded simply. “And he had no regrets either, I mean we kinda know it ended in me also dying back in Greed, so kinda rude,”
“I’m sure you didn’t regret a thing either,” Ghira said with a chuckle.
“Sure,” Blake rolled her eyes.
“Anyway, that fight was so cool!” Ruby yelped. “I knew Penny could do it!”
“She had to use practically everything in her arsenal,” Ozpin stated. “I imagine anything that comes up next should be easy enough to defeat,”
“We’ll see soon,” Slays said with a shrug.
“I’m excited to see it,” Pietro chuckled.
“Me too!” Penny cheered.
