Deku walked through the dark streets, through the rain on patrol during this stormy weather. He did this a lot, patrolling the streets when crime seemed to happen the most. For some odd reason, villains liked to attack people while getting soaked in water.
While walking, he heard the shaking & thumping of an object, hitting the ground. The hero turned around, staring at the dark alley that the sound had come from. The sound grew louder so Deku approached closer, until finally, he saw it.
A box, moving around on his own, jumping a little. Inside, a small squeak of a sound was heard coming inside. Deku knelt down, picking the box up & opening it, only to find a small, brown furred puppy with big, black, & beady eyes.
“Awww!” he said, looking at the puppy. “What a cutie you are!” he squealed, gently petting the small creature. He looked around. It was alone.
When he looked at the puppy better, he could see that it was shaking furiously. Cold, alone, & unsafe here. Who knows what could’ve happened if Deku hadn’t shown up? He can’t just leave the dog here. He, as a hero, promised to protect all creatures. Human or in this case, puppy.

While Deku was on patrol, Uraraka had just returned, sitting on the couch in her & her boyfriend’s shared apartment. She was watching some T.V. while eating some chips, waiting for her love to return.
The door knob jingled open, causing the young woman to turn around, expecting Midoriya to walk through.
However, when he opened the door, she was certainly surprised.
In her boyfriend’s hand was a small brown box that looked soaked in water.
She raised an eyebrow. “What’s in the box?” she inquired.
“Weeeell…” Midoriya said, with a nervous grin on his face. He actually hadn’t thought out what he would do if he brought the puppy home. The animal shelters were all already closed for the night & he couldn’t possibly have left the puppy in the storm!
He held the box up to Uraraka’s face. “Just take a look…” he said.
Curious, the brunette did as she was told & gasped at what she saw. She retracted her head & looked up at her boyfriend before looking back down, only to have the brown fur ball jump up & lick her cheek.
At that point, it was both a squeal of delight & surprise as she looked at the dog. “A puppy?! Why? Now? Huh?!” She asked so many questions at that moment. What was he thinking? Where’s all of the other supplies? Is it house trained? Why just after patrol? What was he on that made him think to bring a dog so late in the night? What kind of shelters allow puppies to be brought home in a box so suddenly at this hour?
Midoriya looked down at the small animal with a sad and pitiful frown. “It was alone & I couldn’t just leave it so I kinda brought it with me,” he explained, holding it up to her.
“It’s so cute!” she cooed, holding up before feeling how much it was shaking. She frowned. “We need to get it all cleaned up!” she said. “The poor thing must be starving at this time!”
“I’m planning on talking to Anima about it tomorrow since he’s probably asleep by now.” He looked at the clock, revealing that it was half past midnight.
“Well, until then, we should make sure the lil guy is safe!” Uraraka said, bringing the small puppy to the bathroom to give it a bath.
Midoriya followed & helped open the water, filling it a little so the puppy could be washed, but not drowned in the water.
The puppy looked around its surroundings as Uraraka went into the bathroom & lowered the helpless creature down into the tub. It paddled around for a little bit before looking at the two.
“So cute!” the couple exclaimed.
The puppy barked in response, still floating in the water as the two washed it.
After bathing it, they took the puppy out of the tub & set the small dog down. The puppy ran around the bathroom for a bit before running back to the two, wagging its tail in excitement. Uraraka smiled, holding the puppy in her hands.
“We should probably give ‘em something to eat now,” she said.
Midoriya nodded. “I’ll go change outta my uniform and get something for the little guy to eat,” he said.
The puppy barked excitedly, wagging its tail.
When the man was in fresh, clean clothes, he walked over to the kitchen, getting some plain pasta & putting it in a tiny bowl, setting it on the ground. He also filled another small bowl of water & put it beside the bowl of food. The puppy excitedly ran over to it, stopping to eat.
It was clear the poor animal hadn’t eaten in a long time as it ate quickly, as if someone was going to take its food at any moment.
“Aw, the poor thing!” Uraraka said. She felt so sorry for the little guy.
Immediately, the cute dog went back to its bubbly & playful self after eating & drinking water. Midoriya gave a small giggle watching the precious animal run around the two of them. “So cute…” he said.
“So much energy too…” Uraraka commented before a thought hit her. “Oh! We don’t have anywhere for him to sleep!” she exclaimed. She looked at her boyfriend who seemed to be thinking of what they should do.
Midoirya thought to himself. “Well…” he muttered. “We could always see if any stores are open at this hour. We could go online and look up the stores and in the meantime also order a small bed for him too. In the meantime, I do have a sewing kit that my mom gifted me and I am pretty handy with a thread and needle so while you look up some dog bed templates and references, I can do all of the sewing. Though it would also require some stuffing which I don’t have on me. But I think that we could look around to see what we do have. If all else fails, we could just take some of the fluff from some old decorative pillows that I have too or maybe even…”
As her boyfriend was being well...himself, Uraraka looked around to see what they could substitute instead. They had the box, blankets, and scissors.
“...okay so I just checked and there’s no stores open at this hour that we can go to, so it looks like we have to go with plan B which is doing it by hand. So what I need you to do Chacco is-”
“Or maybe we could just use these blankets and make a bed.” The pink cheeked woman interrupted his ramblings, holding a few blankets in front of him. The puppy seemed to like them as he was jumping for joy, trying to bite the corner of one of the blankets that was drooped down.
“Oh,” Midoriya said. “That’ll work…”
Uraraka smiled. “Good,” she said. “In that case, can you grab a marker and some scissors? I wanna try making a box for him to sleep in.”
Midoriya nodded, heading over so that they could make the bed.
When it was finished, the two let out an exasperated sigh. The puppy was fast asleep, having immediately begun snoring as soon as he made contact with the soft blankets.
The couple flopped onto the couch, completely exhausted.
“Well that took longer than I thought it would…” Uraraka said.
“Yeah…”His jaw opened as he yawned, pulling out his phone.”We should probably be going to bed now…” He looked back at his girlfriend who was now fast asleep, leaning back into the cushions. He stayed silent, not wanting to wake his sleeping beauty.
“G’night sweetie…” he mumbled. He then glanced over at the dog. “G’night to you too little guy…”
