NASH/GRANT HOUSE
Athena stood at the back porch holding Harry's phone in her hand. "He took him." Athena said.
"Who took Harry?" Bobby asked.
"Jeffrey Hudson." Athena said, taking her phone out.
"Who are you calling?" Michael asked.
"Someone who can help us get him back." Athena said.
FIREHOUSE 118
Buck was laying on the bed closest to Eddie when his phone went off. "Who is calling you?" Eddie asked.
"Athena." Buck said answering. "Hey Mama A what's going on?" Buck asked.
"I need your help." Athena said.
"What can I do?" Buck asked.
"Jeffrey Hudson took Harry." Athena said.
"Say no more. Let me make a call and I'll get on it." Buck said.
"Thank you. Meet me at the station." Athena said.
"Will do." Buck said hanging up and scrolling through his phone.
"What did Athena want?" Eddie asked sitting up.
"Some help. I need to make a call." Buck said stepping out of the Bay doors. "Sam Hanna." Came a voice. "Hey," Buck said.
"Deadeye?" Sam asked.
"It's me. I need a favor." Buck said.
"Name it." Sam said.
"Can you have some of your folks dig up dirt on Jeffrey Hudson?" Buck asked.
"Sure. What did he do?" Sam asked.
"He attacked a lot of women including the woman who I consider a mother. He's taken a my baby brother. My mom is a cop with LAPD. Athena Grant?" Buck said.
"Damn Sgt Grant is tough." Sam said.
"Yeah. She wants my help. Want to do a job for old time sake?" Buck asked.
"Definitely. I'll got my intel and meet you and her at the station." Sam said.
"Thanks." Buck said hanging up. When he turned around Chimney, Eddie and Hen were all there. "How much did you hear?" Buck asked.
"Enough to know Harry is in danger and you're about to do something reckless." Eddie said.
"Here's the deal I was in the Navy Seals I did not drop out I was medically discharged after my knee was busted up. Sam Hanna, Steve McGarrett and Daniel Harrellson better known as Hondo we all were in an elite group. Me and Steve were snipers. Can we save the rest for after I can get my baby brother back?" Buck asked.
"Just one question?" Chim asked.
"Stay here. Me and Sam can do this. You three keep the firehouse running. I'll be back once I am done." Buck said. Hen and Chim nodded and headed back inside.
Eddie hung around. "Be careful. I don't want to have to explain to Chris how both you and Harry went missing." Eddie said yanking Buck to him.
"Yes Dear." Buck said kissing his cheek.
NCIS OPS CENTER
Sam walked into the OPS center to find Callen and Nell at the light table. "Thanks for coming. What do we know about Jeffrey Hudson?" Sam asked.
"Jeffrey Hudson has an extensive criminal background. Mostly harrassing and attacking women. He was on trial for attacking 8 women, one being a Sgt Athena Grant." Nell said.
"Yeah. Any known locations he might hide out?" Sam asked.
"Just one an old warehouse owned by one of his 'groupies' families." Nell said.
"Thanks." Sam said leaving OPS.
Callen followed. "Now want to tell me why you needed that?" Callen asked.
"One of the men Deadeye he was medically discharged due to a blown knee. Best sniper besides me. He became a firefighter here in LA and the Sgt that man attacked is like a mother to him. He's taken her son." Sam said.
"Let's go then. I want to meet this guy." Callen said.
LAPD
Buck pulled his jeep into the parking lot and found Athena and another detective standing there with Bobby and Michael. "Sorry was quizzed by Eddie, Chim and Hen." Buck said.
"Thanks for coming." Athena said hugging him.
"Of course Mama. Now I called my contact and he is getting other info on Hudson. Me and him will go stake it out and if we find anything I will call you. I know you want first shot." Buck said.
"I want to know how he got into my house." Athena said.
"I won't kill him unless neccessary." Buck said.
"You can kill someone?" Michael asked.
"Oh Buck never told any of you?" Athena asked.
"Deadeye here was the best sniper I worked beside." Came Sam's voice.
"Hey Banna." Buck said hugging Sam.
"Deadeye you're looking better than the last time I saw your mug." Sam said.
"Let me guess Tsunami?" Buck asked.
"Yeah and the time before that the firetruck fell on ya." Sam said.
"Wait you're the firefighter who was under the firetruck?" Callen asked.
"I was. Not the most funnest day of that year. Everyone this is Sam Hanna. This Mama Sgt Athena Grant, her husband my capt Bobby Nash and Her ex husband Michael Grant." Buck said making introductions.
"Wait Buck you said you dropped out." Bobby said.
"I was medically discharged." Buck said.
"So what's the plan?" Michael asked.
"My team have found a warehouse owned by one of Hudson's groupies' family." Sam said.
"It's on the outside Avalon." Callen said.
"Do we have an arial of the place?" Buck asked.
"I do in the car." Sam said.
When Buck left the group Bobby turned to Athena. "You knew Buck didn't drop out?" Bobby asked.
"Do you see Buck quitting anything?" Athena asked her husband.
At Sam's car Sam tapped Buck. "You ok?" He asked.
"Yeah, just want to get Harry back." Buck said.
Athena and Callen came over. "So what do we know?" Athena asked.
"That looks like a taller building. I could set up there." Buck said.
"Ok. Me and Callen will have the rear. Has Hudson called you?" Sam asked Athena.
"No. Not yet. But he will." Athena said.
Buck's phone pinged and he saw a text from Eddie with Chris and Abuela at the station. He smirked. "I know that smirk." Sam said.
"Shut up, how's Kam and Aidan doing?" Buck asked.
"Good. Aidan just graduated from Air force." Sam said.
"Damn how you feel about that?" Buck asked.
Athena's phone rang. "Hello." She said. Her face went stone cold. "I want to speak with my son." She said. As Sam traced the call and pointed to Buck and they nodded. "Ok I,ll come alone." Athena said hanging the phone up.
"Looks like all our hunches were right." Sam said.
"Warehouse in Avalon?" Bobby asked.
"Yeah." Sam said.
"So me and Sam on entry points and Buck in the top building on the East side." Callen said.
"Yeah. Deadeye I have a friend for you." Sam said opening his trunk and pulling out a rifle Buck knew well.
"Haven't seen this guy in years." Buck said holding the rifle.
Athena saw the apprehension in Buck. "Baby you don't have to do this." Athena said.
"Sure I do. Family." Buck said cocking the gun and nodding.
"Let's go then." Sam said closing the trunk
WAREHOUSE IN AVALON
Sam and Callen were in place and Buck was setting up. "Everyone in Position?" Sam asked.
"Almost set." Buck said.
Athena rolled to a stop and looked at the place. "Waht way do I need him to turn Buck?" Athena asked.
"Towards the West Mama." Buck said.
"Alright I'm rolling up." Athena said.
Buck watched as Hudson pulled Harry out of the car and walked toward Athena. Buck jumped when a hand settled on his shoulder, he turned and found Bobby beside him. "Sam said you need a grounding force. I'll do it." Bobby said.
"Ok." Buck said.
They both watched as Athena walked closer. "Ahhh Sargent glad you listened, ole Harry here would of been another victim." Hudson said.
"What do you want?" Athena asked slowly moving sideways.
"I want you to pay." Hudson said.
"Come on you mother fracker move just a little left." Buck muttered. Bobby looked at Buck and smirked.
"Why did you kill your defense attorney?" Athena asked.
"She did her job. I didn't need her anymore." Hudson said.
"And what was her job?" Athena asked.
"I needed her to slit the detective throat. He asked too many questions." Hudson said moving just enough for Buck to shoot and get his leg. When Hudson went down Harry ran behind Athena, who had her gun in her hand. "I will personally make sure you don't get away this time." Athena said.
Sam and Callen came up and helped her. Athena hugged Harry to her and turned and shot a look to Buck. Buck fell back on his haunches and sighed. "Good work Buck." Bobby said.
"It's family." Buck said packing the gun away.
"So you did this full time?" Bobby asked.
"Yes I did. Not something I am proud of." Buck said.
"You should be. You saved a lot of lives." Bobby said.
HALF HOUR LATER
FIREHOUSE
Sam and Callen went to the firehouse with Athena and Bobby. When they stepped in Sam looked for Buck. "Cap whose your friends?" Chim asked.
"Sam Hanna and G Callen this is Buck's team Eddie Diaz, Chim Han and Hen Wilson." Bobby said.
"Glad to see Deadeye found his family." Sam said.
"Could you tell us how you know Buck?" Hen asked.
Sam looked to Athena who shook her head. "Let's just say I knew Deadeye or Evan when he was younger." Sam said.
"Do you know his Sister Maddie?" Chim asked.
"Know of her. Don't have a lot to say about her." Sam said.
Chim was about to defend her when Eddie spoke up. "What branch were you with?" Eddie asked.
"Seals." Sam said.
Eddie nodded smirking. He knew what Buck was doing. And he knew where Sam knew Buck from. "Anyone know where Buck is?" Athena asked.
"He hasn't come back here." Chim said.
"Chim I will remind you , if Buck says anything you will be keeping it to yourself." Bobby said.
"What about Maddie." Chim said.
"Buck does not want anyone knowing about his 'younger' days." Sam said.
"Gotcha." Chim said.
BUCK'S APARTMENT
Buck was on his balcony watching the sun set when he felt arms come around his waist. "I got to meet your old Partner Sam." Eddie said leaning his chin on Buck's shoulder.
"He was go to guy." Buck said.
"You know you'll have to answer questions from Chim, Hen and possibly Bobby." Eddie said leaning against the railing.
"I know. Ask, I know you want to." Buck said.
"I want you to tell me when you're ready." Eddie said taking Buck's hand.
"I'll explain at family dinner." Buck said.
"Ok." Eddie said nodding.
Buck noticed Eddie looking at him. "What?" He asked.
"Can I tell you how hot it was to hear Bobby talk about you up on that roof?" Eddie said.
"Hot was it? Want to show me?" Buck said pulling Eddie towards the door.
SUNDAY
NASH/GRANT HOUSE
Buck, Eddie and Chris was just getting to the door when Athena through it open and hugged Buck. Buck felt her shuddering. "Hey Mama." He said quietly.
"Thank you so much." Athena said looking at him.
"It's what we do for Family." Buck said.
As they entered Harry made a beeline for Christopher who then ran to his room. "Kids." Eddie said making his way inside.
Once inside everyone was milling around the house. "So Buck when were you gonna tell us that you weren't a wash out of the Seals?" Chim asked smirking.
"Chim what did we discuss at the station?" Bobby asked sternly.
"It's ok. I didn't wash out I joined right out of highschool. After Buds that's the equivalent of boot camp. I was picked to head out with a team lead by Steve McGarret." Buck said.
"McGarret isn't he lead of a Task Froce in Hawaii?" Michael asked.
"He is. He Sam, me and one other guy named Darrell Harrelson or Hondo were a team who went to go after Osama Bin laden." Buck said.
"Oh my." Karen said covering her mouth.
"Yeah. We were going after a none affiliate of Bin Ladin. Our intel lead us to a small village called Buner. We got there and the intel was bad." Buck said.
Athena grabbed Bobby's arm seeing her boy's devastated face.
"Buck." Maddie said anguished.
"We got there and we were set up. Taliban regime came out fighting. They used everything as armor. Kids, women." Buck said.
"Oh Gawd." Hen said wrapping her arms around Karen.
"We fought with everything we had. But we took more innocent lives than Taliban." Buck said.
Eddie wrapped his hand around Buck's wrist. "After the mission was declared FUBAR we were exfilled out of Bumer and given new intel. After the execution of Osama we came home. I told Steve and Sam I could not do it anymore. My contract was coming up and I opted out of re enlisting. I went to South America and then ended up here." Buck said looking around for the first time. He saw Chim holding a sobbing Maddie. Hen shushing a weeping Karen and Athena holding Bobby's hand. What scared him most was looking to his right where Eddie was sitting.
"Buck, you did what you were trained to do." Bobby spoke first.
"I know. But it never got easier." Buck said.
"You did something none of us could fathom doing. Well maybe Athena." Hen said.
"Even now it's hard to take a life. I am so sorry Buck for asking that of you this week." Athena said.
"No. That was different. He was a monster. He went after my family. You are my mama just like Bobby is my pop May and Harry those are my siblings just as much as Maddie is. So no Mama do not say you're sorry." Buck said furiously.
"Come here Son." Athena said standing up and hugging Buck to her.
"You make me very proud to call you my son." Athena said patting his cheek.
"I know of another few people who are proud to call you family." Eddie said motioning to his phone where he had his Aunt and Grandmother on facetime.
"Evanito, when you're through with Dinner you come see your Abuela and Tia." Isabel said.
"Yes Abuela we will. Te Amo Abuela." Buck said with watery eyes.
Just then May. Harry, Denny and Chris came in. Chris curled up into Buck's lap and hugged him. "I love you Bucky." Chris said.
"Love you too Superman." Buck said kissing his head.
Eddie leaned over and kissed them both on the foreheads. "Mama I am hungry when is dinner?" Denny asked causing everyone to laugh.
"It's ready, Let's eat." Bobby said leading the way. Buck hung back and watched his found family. Eddie stepped beside him and smirked. "Just so you know I am proud of you. They're was a reason I bonded with you so quickly. I heard of the FUBAR mission in Bumer and felt empathy for that crew. But I had no clue it was you. You Evan Buckley are truly a good person. Don't let what happened they're define you." Eddie said.
"I won't." Buck said.
"Good. Cause when we get home I want to ask something and I need your mind clear." Eddie said walking away leaving Buck to smirk.
END
