Work Text:

"Ritsu-kun, didn't we arrange to meet at this time so that you could be awake?"

"Maybe so, Ecchan."

"Mhm. Well, this seems to be going in quite the opposite direction. Do I make that good of a napping spot, that you can’t resist sleeping?” Eichi’s tone was laced with amusement.

Ritsu cracked open an eye to look up at him from where his head lay in Eichi’s lap. “You’re a terrible napping spot. You’re all bony. Shouldn’t you get softer from all the sweets I bring to tea club meetings?”

Really, Ritsu should know better than that. Could someone so ill, who spent so much time in the hospital, ever truly be anything but skin and bones? “But my body has never been a healthy one. You complain so often about how terrible my blood tastes, don’t you? I’m made up of medicine, not sugar~”

“Explains why you taste so bitter.”

“Perhaps. Though, speaking of-” Eichi reached over to pluck up one of the pastries Ritsu had brought, plate laid out on the picnic blanket. The dull light of the moon certainly didn’t do the horrifying appearance any favors… Or was it better that it couldn’t be seen too closely? He couldn’t decide. Though he had had too many of Ritsu’s creations by this point to be put off by such things. The unique look was part of it’s charm…♪ “Say ah~”

“Ahh~” He fed Ritsu the treat delicately, keeping his fingers far enough from his fangs. “Ecchan, shouldn’t you be the one eating? I worked so hard and you don’t appreciate it~”

Eichi laughed. “Don’t I? I shouldn’t be outside at this hour, you know, yet here I am. But as you wish,” he took a second one for himself. The flavor, as expected, was perfect. He was so often deprived of anything sugary and unhealthy by his parents, his doctors, Keito. Could he be blamed for savoring such a rare thing?

Ritsu rose from his spot with a speed he was usually too lazy to have, energy brought on by the late hour. His lips met Eichi’s just as quickly, tongue coming out to lick up the trace of chocolate from his lips. He smiled as he pulled away. “At least you taste sweet now~ Your blood still smells like medicine, though.”

“My, Ritsu-kun, some warning would be nice. Mm, well, I suppose the surprise can be fun too.”

“You hang around Watarin, you like surprises? Don’t pretend otherwise.”

“Oh? Am I that predictable?”

“Yeah. You should be careful, or I’ll see right through you~”
“You say that as if it would be a bad thing. Regardless, you seem to finally be awake now, so let’s have our tea.”

“Sure, sure…”

Eichi was already pouring it before the words left Ritsu’s mouth. As fun as this was, their date would be cut short if he was out here too long. Someone would notice his absence and he would be dragged back home, despite any complaints he might make about how he could look after himself and how his health was fine at the moment. He'd been lucky to manage sneaking out at all tonight.

So... he wanted to enjoy this while he could - a pleasant evening under the stars with Ritsu.

Notes:

I have no idea how to write Ritsu no one look at me
