Chapter 2: Spin

Summary:

BV loves to spin, for reasons unbeknownst to anyone but Elektra.

Chapter Text

There wasn’t a sound to be heard, certainly not at this time in the evening when all the rolling stock were home from work and cooped up in their respective sheds. Away from any hustle and bustle at the end of a long work week. Perhaps sharing dinner with a loved one. Either way, the yard looked practically abandoned, if it weren’t for the lights not having been shut off for the night.

BV loved this time of night. No one to hide from, the expanse of the yard all to himself.

It wasn’t exactly a secret that he spun around a lot - smooth and sleek on his wheels - but most others assumed it was to show off. They didn’t have much time, nor really cared to master the kinds of tricks and spins that Bee could pull off, so it was only natural.

He didn’t care what they thought, either.

The real reason, something that he would rather not share with anyone anyway, was that he simply loved it. The way the world whipped around him so quickly, the wind cool against his face. Maybe even blowing through his hair if he decided to let it down…

Which he felt ambitious enough to do that night, removing the hat and bandana and letting the ginger locks fall around his shoulders. He usually went through a lot of trouble to hide it from everyone, but it mattered little at the moment, hugging his hat close to his body as he picked up speed.

It really felt freeing, he had to admit.

Though, he didn’t quite account for Elektra snooping around the yard at this time of night, most likely wondering where he was. They had started dating just recently, after the championships. And Elektra was quite insistent on stripping him bare the night after. He had seen his hair, of course, but he certainly hadn’t seen him like this.

Childlike, having fun. Enjoying the simple pleasures in life.

Damn, why hadn’t Elektra seen that yet?

He wasn’t exactly surprised when he spotted Ellie, who seemed to have appeared right next to him. But he was startled, losing his footing and stumbling forwards.

But - Ellie was right there to catch him.

Bee looked up at him, a bit of panic behind his eyes.

“Be careful, darling!” Elektra said, helping him up onto his wheels again.

“I was bein’ careful! Ya just…startled me.” Bee retorted, his cheeks flushing just a bit.

Elektra simply smiled and kissed his forehead, urging him to spin once again.
