Morgan's Farm

Summary:

Morgan chooses not to be a hero, sidekick, or villain, instead, he owns a small farm on the outskirts of an isolated village in the mountains. He enjoys his life there and has a great relationship with the people of the village...

Sure would be a shame if a group of heroes decided they needed to hide from the S-Tier villain known as the Destroyer, wouldn't it?

Notes:

I won't lie, this is my first time writing for this fandom, so any constructive criticism you've got would be great. I have no plan going into this and I have no idea how long it's going to be, we're in this together!
Seriously though, thank you for choosing to read this!

Chapter Text

Morgan laughed as he watched a young goat try and take on one that was much older but still in its prime, reminding him of the times he would watch idiot heroes try to take on the Destroyer. He had been living on the outskirts of a small village for almost ten years now, ever since he left his family and all of their expectations of him being Chad’s sidekick behind.

Oh sure, he’d tried being his own hero for a time, but that ended quickly after the Chadster kept showing up and claiming them as their sidekick. After six months of that Morgan tried being a villain. It was a lot more fun, and planning heists gave him a chance to use every bit of creativity that he couldn’t while with his family. That lasted for three years. But even that couldn’t last, as an A-Tier hero nearly killed him while stopping a different bank robbery.

And well, after that it was easier to let everyone think he had just been another casualty and move far far away. The people who lived in the village were nice and didn’t mind the fact that he didn’t like to talk about his past. Despite his best efforts, they grew on him, and before he knew it, he was babysitting for exhausted parents and teaching small children miscellaneous things about how to be a good low-tiered villain… Not that he ever told their parents that was what he was teaching them.

But because he didn’t trust things to stay good in his life, Morgan got to plotting and inventing. After two years he had set up a ring that would suppress the powers of anyone entering the area that wasn’t a known local. It had never been needed but that didn’t mean it wouldn’t be one day.

The sight of smoke coming from the village knocked Morgan out of his thoughts. Pushing away from the fence, Morgan ran full speed away from his farm.

As it turned out the smoke was from a group of heroes, about twelve in all, crossing through the ring and one of them was normally completely on fire when on duty and going out suddenly had caused a lot of smoke.

"Help us please!" The hero in charge all but begged as Morgan rushed up.

"What happened?! I saw smoke!" Morgan asked worriedly. Then he saw the heroes. "Oh. That."

One of the mothers who occasionally asked Mogan to babysit, Abbey, walked up to Morgan, "They say they've been fighting a villain."

Morgan snorted, taking in the heroes' disheveled appearances, "Well at least we know they aren't lying. I still don't see what that has to do with us though?"

The hero that appeared to be doing most of the talking for the group spoke up, "Please. We just need a place to hide and regroup." After a second Morgan recognized the man as Leader USA, which meant... After another look at the group, Morgan saw his sister favoring her left side.

With a deep sigh, Morgan looked at all the heroes and then at the assembled adults, "We can use my house to patch them up." The heroes let out a sigh of relief, "BUT!" Morgan said quickly, "I will not hide them! When the Destroyer shows up looking for them, if they ask, I won't lie."

"Then why bother helping at all?" The former flaming hero asked, quite rudely too, as Morgan began walking back to his farm.

With a glare, Morgan said, "This village is made up of families. Most have children. Some even have newborns. I am the only one that doesn't have any of the above. I am the only one with the space necessary to put you all up. But make no mistake hero if I have to choose between keeping you and your group safe or keeping these families alive I will choose this village every. Time." Morgan took a deep breath and let some of the anger go, "So if you don't want my help feel free to leave." Then he started walking back to his farm without looking back to see if any of the heroes had decided to follow.
