Chapter Text
There were rumors of a new person appearing randomly a few days ago.
Xisuma, their admin, was keeping information tightly wrapped. The admin did ask him to visit though.
He didn’t know what to expect when he arrived at X’s. “Hello?” He called.
X appeared in his living room doorway, “Hey Grian, come in.”
He closed X’s front door confused.
Xisuma ushered him into the living room, “I found a teen who’s not whitelisted, I don-”
The admin’s voice disappeared as he caught sight of the teen on the couch, golden fluffy blond hair and red sleeves was all that he could see but his gut knew. “Tommy?” He cut Xisuma’s rambling off.
The teen’s head whipped up and turned to look at him. Sky blue eyes meet his, filled with disbelief and a small bit of hope.
“Hi there Baby Bird,” He said, small soft smile on his face, “What are you doing here?”
Tommy shrugged.
“What is going on?” X asked.
“Xisuma this is my baby brother, TommyInnit,” He explained, “Toms, this is Hermitcraft’s admin, XisumaVoid.”
Tommy waved shyly.
“Brother?” Xisuma asked.
He nodded, “I have three brothers, Tommy’s the youngest.”
Tommy nodded.
Xisuma accepted the answer, nodding, “I’ll leave you to it then.”
“Thanks X,” He said.
X left the room and he moved to sit next to Tommy on the couch.
Tommy buried his face in his chest, arms coming up around him.
He hugged his brother back, “Hey you’re alright.”
“‘M sorry,” Tommy whispered.
“You have nothing to be sorry for,” He assured, “You’re alright.”
Tommy eventually pulled away.
“How are you feeling?” He asked.
“Tired,” Tommy admitted.
“Alright, you up for some nether travel?” He stood up.
Tommy nodded and followed him to standing.
“X, we’re leaving,” He called.
“Alright, be safe, let me know if you need anything,” Xisuma called back.
He gave Tommy an extra set of armor and they travelled through the nether to his portal, or at least the one he used.
“Have you eaten anything recently?” He asked.
“Xisuma gave me some soup,” Tommy responded.
He nodded, “Here’s the portal me and my neighboor’s are using.”
Tommy nodded.
They travelled back to the overworld.
He ushered his brother to his starter house quickly, hoping both Mumbo and Scar were either out or busy. “Do you want some more comfortable clothes?”
“If that’s alright,” Tommy said quietly.
“Of course,” He said, grabbing a sweater and sweatpants and handed them to Tommy. He showed his brother the bathroom and went to adjust his nest to make it perfect for his baby brother.
Tommy came out of the bathroom his previous clothes in hand. The sweatpants, that were to big for him, fit Tommy perfectly and the sweater, that was probably their brother’s, was to big on the teen.
He smiled grabbing the clothes from Tommy and dropped them in the hamper. He showed Tommy his nest and pulled him in.
Tommy stared at him.
“Naptime,” He said serious yet smiling.
Tommy giggled quietly.
His smile grew just a bit.
They laid down and Tommy fell asleep fairly quickly. He ran a hand through Tommy’s hair for a bit before grabbing his communicator and sending off two messages.
One to Xisuma reading, ‘Grian: What do you know?’
And one to someone out of server, their father Philza Minecraft which read, ‘Grian: Tommy’s on Hermitcraft, I have him.’
Xisuma took a bit to answer probably typing a paragraph or two, Phil on the other hand responded near immediately.
‘Ph1LzA: Oh thank Ender. Take care of him for me.’
‘Grian: Absolutely.’
‘Ph1LzA: Love you’
‘Grian: Love you too.’
Xisuma responded after a good couple minutes. ‘XisumaVoid: Not much to be honest. He appeared at spawn. I didn’t whitelist him and he’s not whitelisted at all. I can’t get into his code even if I wanted to whitelist him.
I can’t find anything about him. I haven’t heard him talk, don’t know where he’s from.
I trust you and that you know what you’re doing but if he becomes dangerous I won’t hesitate.’
‘Grian: I know, thank you for trusting me.’
‘Grian: Even with everything.’
‘XisumaVoid: Of course, you’re my friend Grian.’
‘Grian: Sorry, used to not being trusted.’
‘XisumaVoid: Do you know why I can’t get his code up, is he, you know?’
‘Grian: He’s not, our brother’s an admin.’
‘Grian: Which yes is part of why mine was that way.’
‘XisumaVoid: If he ends up knowing anything tell me. Just keep me updated in general.’
‘Grian: Will do.’
He sent out a message to all the Hermits that he’d be busy for a while. He glanced down at his brother and sighed a little bit. Please don’t wake up Baby Bird. He summoned something he hated to use, a mask, a simple purple eye mask with the symbol of the Watchers in the middle of it.
He placed it over his eyes and felt the shiver of power through his body. He quickly brought up his brother’s code feeling a rush of relief when only their brother’s touch was within it. He went to work looking back to how his brother got to Hermitcraft without being whitelisted.
He watched as Tommy slept in his house on the server he’s been residing on. Then he woke up suddenly and then server hopped, without meaning to based on reaction. Tommy’s pjs had been replaced with his regular outfit, while shirt with red sleeves, tan jeans, and white sneakers.
It didn’t explain how Tommy got to a whitelisted only server without being whitelisted. He went through Tommy’s code to see if there was an answer inside of it.
There was nothing so he removed the Watcher mask from his face and sent it away.
He looked at his brother again. He took the time to actually look at his little brother.
The teen looked exhausted, dark bags under his eyes, scars dotted around what of his skin he could see, and there was a white streak among the golden blond. Where it came from he didn’t know but he had a sick feeling in his stomach. He could recongize his mother’s touch or at least a cheap imitation of it.
He didn’t sleep just sat and turned over the possibilities in his head. He also didn’t leave his brother, he didn’t want Tommy to wake up in an unfamiliar place alone.
He wasn’t sure how long he laid there but eventually Tommy started to shift, waking up.
He started to run a hand through Tommy’s hair again.
Tommy blinked at him as he woke up.
“Hello Baby Bird,” He said, smiling softly.
“Hi,” Tommy said quietly.
“Are you hungry?” He asked.
“A bit,” Tommy admitted.
“Alright, let’s go get you some food,” He said.
They got up and he made something quick for his brother to eat.
“I told Dad you’re here, by the way,” He told Tommy, “He’s glad to know where you are.”
Tommy nodded.
He cleaned up his kitchen as Tommy ate.
When Tommy was halfway through eating he stated something a bit worrying. “My communicator didn’t come with me. I couldn’t find it.”
“Oh,” He said, “Do you want me to ask Xisuma for an extra comm?”
“I don’t want to be a bother,” Tommy said, quietly.
“You won’t be a bother, it’ll give him something to do,” He assured.
“Okay,” Tommy said.
He gave the teen a smile then pulled out his communicator.
‘Grian: Can I get an extra comm for Tommy?’
‘XisumaVoid: Yeah, I can give you a blank one and you can do your magic or whatever.”
‘Grian: That works. Thanks so much.’
‘XisumaVoid: I’ll drop it off at your house.’
‘Grian: Brillant, thank you.’
“Am I keeping you from something?” Tommy asked as he washed his brother’s dishes.
“Nope,” He said, only half lying, “I had no plans today.”
“Really?” Tommy didn’t believe him, which was fair.
“Yep,” He said, “And even if I did, you’re more important.”
“Did you look at what happened?” Tommy asked him, nervous.
“I looked at what happened just before you appeared here,” He said, “All I saw was you sleeping, waking up, and server hopping. Nothing more.”
“Why?” Tommy sounded so confused.
“Why what Toms?” He asked.
“Why didn’t you look further?” Tommy asked.
“Well it’s yours to tell me,” He said, “Do you want me to?”
Tommy shook his head.
He smiled gently and got Tommy into the living room. He handed Tommy the TV remote and went to clean out his extra room. Scar and Mumbo used to use it when they stayed over. He’d let it collect random things within the past however long.
He heard a knock on the door. He went downstairs and went to his door. He used his wings to block the view into his house and opened the door.
Xisuma stood outside.
He relaxed his wings and smiled at the admin.
“Here you go,” Xisuma said as he handed him the communicator.
“Thanks X.” He took the comm.
“Of course,” The Voidwalker said, “Let me know if you two need anything.”
“I will,” He said.
As Xisuma started to walk away he suddenly remembered something, “Wait X, can you get me an eltrya?”
Xisuma nodded.
“Thank you,” He said.
Xisuma chuckled and then flew off with a firework.
He closed his door and went straight to the living room. He used what little he remembered of coding and communicators to link Tommy’s original one with the loner one.
Once he tested it by getting one of their brothers to message Tommy he handed it over to Tommy.
Tommy took to responding to his friends messages. Tubbo and Ranboo seemed particually worried.
“Who’s Shroud?” He asked from where he was looking over his brother’s shoulder.
“My son,” Tommy answered, “Spider Hybrid, adopted.”
“Took after Dad, Toms?” He teased.
Tommy flipped him off.
“Baby Bird,” He scolded.
“I’m not sorry,” Tommy said.
He sighed and ruffled Tommy’s hair before returning to clearing out his guest turned storage room.
Nobody else bothered him, Xisuma did leave him an eltrya along with fully enchanted diamond armor and tools.
He shook his head at his friend and laughed a bit.
Scar and Mumbo both did ask him if everything was alright and if they could do anything for him.
It was sweet but he assured them he was fine and that he didn’t need anything.
He made dinner for the two of them and they ate. After dinner he asked Tommy, what to him was a simple question, “Do you want to sleep in the nest with me or in my guest room?” To be honest with himself he wanted Tommy to sleep in the nest with him but he wouldn’t force it.
Tommy looked up at him with confusion.
He felt anger boil up inside him but he just soften his gaze and rephrase his question, “You can either sleep in my guest room alone or you can sleep with me in my nest. It’s entirely up to you.”
“I-um-” Tommy started then mumbled, “I’d like to sleep in the nest.”
He smiled, “Alright the nest it is.”
Tommy hesitantly smiled back.
When they were getting ready for bed, Tommy took a shower, Tommy hesitantly asked him a question, “Can we call Dad?”
He smiled, “Of course, let me message him.”
‘Grian: Can we call you?”
‘Ph1LzA: Absolutely, just give me a second.’
Before he could even send an okay back Phil messaged again.
‘Ph1LzA: Good to go.’
“I’m calling him,” He annouced.
Tommy ducked under his arm as he pressed the call button.
Phil’s face appeared on his comm screen fond smile on his face. He look tired, probably from the fact Tommy had been missing.
“Hello,” He greeted.
“Hey mates,” Phil greeted back.
Tommy waved then asked, “Who has my comm?”
“Wil does,” Phil answered, “He was the first person to notice you were missing. He was going over to keep up apperarences.”
Tommy nodded and relaxed.
He however furrowed his eyebrows, “Is Wil alright?”
Phil nodded, “Yeah. Your message help calm all of our nerves.”
He nodded.
After a bit of talking, just chatting, him update both what he was doing on Hermitcraft, him getting updated on the game that Phil, Tommy, and their two brothers were playing, he sat down in his nest bringing Tommy with him.
“Which Hermits know?” Phil asked.
“Everyone knows someone new is on the server,” He said, “But only X and me actually know who he is.”
Phil nodded.
Tommy yawned after a bit more talking so they said their goodbyes and goodnights.
Tommy fell asleep pretty quickly which did surprise him a bit but he was grateful for it.
He was up for a bit longer so he just stared at his brother, which was a bit creepy he’d admit. The teen had changed so much since he’d seen him last, which could be a good thing but he couldn’t help but feel like it wasn’t.
As he drifted off to sleep he thought, What happened to you Baby Bird?
