Chapter Text
She already lost two of her friends, shot in the back. She only has three left and they're running, running and running. Passed bodies of her teachers and friends. They stop, a padawan that was a year older than her lies dead, their saber still in hand unlit. Someone comes up behind them. She turns around, Master Skywalker is standing there, saber lit and glowing blue, his hood covering his face. She stares at him in fear. Master Skywalker raises a finger to his lips and heeds them to be quiet. His saber extinguishes leaving them in the dim hallway lights, he holds out is hand and motions for her to grab it. She grabs it. Master Skywalker huddles the four of them under his cloak, hiding them from view. She shuffles silently as he walks at a quicken pace. Finally they stop, she peeks out, they're in front of a statue in the archives. Master Skywalker shoves it aside and reveals a fake wall, with a gentle push it opens to reveal a long dark hallway. Master Skywalker shoves them inside and motions them to walk forward. The door closes leaving them alone in the dark. Lights flicker on leading them to a small room. Inside she sees a clustered group of people including Trilla. She runs forward and embraces her friend. Madame Jocasta is also there and holding little Grogu and another baby from the crèche.
What feels like hours pass. Trilla and her sit together huddles against a cold wall. Finally the door reopens and Master Skywalker walks in with another group of younglings. He looks tired. He sits the younglings down along the opposite wall and goes over to Madame Jocasta, they speak in hushed voices well an older padawan passes around bottled water. Finally Master Skywalker helps get everyone standing and leads them out a door opposite to the one they entered.
Bright moonlight shines blinds her as she steps outside. Above her is the temple, burning and leaving ash to fall through the air. Master Skywalker leads them to a shuttle and hurries them into the back. As they take off she tries to peek out the back window but Madame Jocasta pushes her back down with a shake of her head.
They land only minutes later and Master Skywalker rushes them inside a fancy apartment. Senator Amidala rushes forward into Master Skywalker's arms. They lean into another as Master Skywalker whispers to her. Another person in bending over a youngling carefully bandaging their arm. Master Skywalker huddles her and the other younglings into a bedroom where some ladies in fancy nightdresses help the bandage wounds and change into soft nightclothes. The other man from earlier brings in the boy from earlier and she finally sees who it is, Zett Jukassa, an agemate of Trilla's. Trilla rushes over to Zett and wraps him in a hug. One of the ladies bandages up her cheek and helps her into a soft purple nightgown with little yellow stars covering the fabric and matching pants and slippers. Well the ladies are busy with the others she takes a chance to peek out the door, Master Skywalker, Madame Jocasta, Senator Amidala, the other man - identified as Senator Organa by Zett - and Master Windu - who looks worse for wear - are speaking in hushed voices. Suddenly Master Skywalker looks over to where she's standing. She ducks behind the door, not wanting to get caught eavesdropping. Master Skywalker must have seen her as the door suddenly slams shut. She doesn't get a chance to figure it out as the lady who patched her up - who is now identified as Moteé - gently grabs her arm. Sandwiches and water are brought in by another lady and are quickly devoured by the group. After toothbrushes and toothpaste are passed out along with other hygiene products they are lead to the in-room refresher.
Master Skywalker finally comes in while she's taking her turn brushing her teeth. Master Skywalker talks to the two ladies who helped earlier then comes over to the table where she ate dinner. After the last person is done in the refresher he motions them to form a half-circle around him. Everyone crowds around to hear. Master Skywalker tells them in a tired voice that they'll be staying here with Senator Amidala for a few days until it is safe for him to get them off planet and to somewhere safer. Instantly everyone bursts into questions but Master Skywalker holds up a hand for silence, saying there'll be time for questions later. Master Skywalker leaves then after telling them to get some sleep. Moteé helps her and Trilla along with another girl into one of the plush beds. Behind Moteé she sees to cribs have been brought in for the babies she saw with Jocasta earlier.
The other lady from before brings in bottles of water and leaves them by the bed. A small nightlight is turned on by the door and they finally leave after telling the group to get some sleep. She's not sure how she's supposed to sleep with the Force screaming in pain. Somehow a blanket presses over her mind and a voice so similar to Master Skywalker's tells her it's okay to rest and a calming lullaby seems to start playing. Trilla rolls over at that moment and throws an arm over her stomach. With Trilla snoring in her ear and the soft lullaby singing over head, she manages to fall asleep for the night
