In This Lifetime

Summary:

Jing Beiyuan and Wu Xi are happily mated and married. Wu Xi is the Great Shaman, while Beiyuan is his male consort. Together, they are bring up the young child who is to one day replace Wu Xi. Their adopted son, Lu Ta.
All is going great , when a new obstacle is thrown at them.

Note, in advance, never test a protective Wu Xi. Bad idea.

Notes:

So, this is something that I have been wanting to write for a while. I have been obsessed with this couple lately. ( I do also want to write one for Zhou Zishu and Wen Kexing).
I loved the Chinese drama, Word of Honor, and was drawn to the brief time we had with Beiyuan and Wu Xi. I am currently reading Faraway Wanders, and already plan on reading Lord Seventh.

I have noticed there aren't much stories for these two, and wanted to give it a go. Please let me know what you think. I am still new to these characters, and I hope I do them justice.

Chapter 1: Signs

In the early morning at the Great Shaman's residence, the occupants were beginning to stir. The head of the household, the Great Shaman himself, Wu Xi, had just woken up. Wu Xi looked at the sleeping man next to him. His husband, Jing Beiyuan, was curled up on his side. Wu Xi let himself smile at the sight of his Omega, so peaceful after suffering so much in his lifetimes.

The Alpha leaned over and placed a kiss in his cheek, his large hand going to his husband's neck. His thumb brushed over the mark he had placed on his delicate skin. Forcing himself up, Wu Xi got dressed and headed out to start his work for the day.

Jing Beiyuan woke hours later, slowly sitting up. He was quick to notice that his husband was already up, and wandered what time it was. He took a breath, and paled as a wave of nausea crashed into him. His hand clamped onto his mouth, trying to keep it at bay. 

'' Master?''

He glanced up and saw Ping An, his loyal head servant. He didn't even notice that he had entered his room. The omega looked at him, gesturing that he was alright, and welcoming him further into the room. 

'' Master, shall I send for the Great Shaman?'' Concern was evident in the Beta's voice. 

'' No, that's not necessary. I'll be fine. ''

Ping An looked unsure. His Master's health has always been rather fragile. He made a note to keep an eye on him, and let the Great Shaman know if he gets worse. For now, he focused on getting his Master ready for the day. He helped him dress, and started to tend to his hair. 

'' Is Lu Ta up yet?'' Beiyuan asked, keeping still.

'' Yes, he is studying as we speak.''

Beiyuan couldn't stop the soft smile as he though of his son, who had just recently turned five. He adored that little boy with his entire being. He constantly saw his Little Venom in him. The little Alpha was so eager to learn, and help his parents and servants. He thought about how clingy he has been as of late. He refused to leave his father's side last night, to basically the point of tears. It was Wu Xi who had succeeded in getting the child to let go. 

The Omega was going to talk to his husband about that tonight, once they were alone for the evening. 

Once Ping An finished with his hair, he got up, and made his way out of his room. He saw his son at the outdoor table, trying his best to study his lesson. 

The Omega smiled, approaching the table. Lu Ta looked up, hearing his footsteps. The child perked up the second he saw his father. He got up, and ran to meet him, his arms reaching up to hug him. 

'' Father!'' The little Alpha took in his comforting scent. 

'' Good morning to you too, Lu Ta .'' His voice was warm, kneeling down to the child height to hold him better. He squeezed him affectionately. He felt Lu Ta place his little face into his neck, taking comfort in arms. He looked up at Nu A Ha, who has been watching the child

'' How are his studies going?'' 

Nu A Ha looked at his Master's consort, and smiled at him. 

'' It is going well, he is such a fast learner. ''

Lu Ta smiled against his father's neck, happy with the praise.

Beiyuan rubbed his son's back, and kindly thanked his husband's subordinate. Nu A Ha nodded kindly in return, and continued to keep guard over the Great Shaman's husband and child. Heaven knows what would happen if any harm came to them. No one wanted to anger a protective Wu Xi.

'' Father, you smell different.''

All the adults looked at him, curiously. Ping An, and Nu A Ha exchanged a look. They both have noticed a slight change in the Omega's scent, but it wasn't drastic enough to mention. Of course it was reported to Wu Xi, who assured them he will keep a close eye on him.

'' Different how?'' He raised his eyebrow. 

'' Hmm...sweeter.'' 

The Beauty blinked, and tucked that into the back of his mind for later. For now, he kissed his forehead, and sat the little Alpha back down to continue his studies.

As it reached mid afternoon, Beiyuan and Lu Ta had found themselves in the courtyard, so the child could play. Beiyuan watched him, a gentle smile on his face. His peach blossom eyes following the child's movements, in case he was needed. 

'' Someone looks happy.''

The Omega looked up, seeing his husband has joined him. Wu Xi glanced at his student, and sat himself down next to his husband. The Alpha turned his gaze to the beautiful man next to him. His eyes softened as he greeted his husband properly. They shared a quick peck on the lips. 

'' To see you. Always, Little Venom.''

Wu Xi gave an amused smirk.

'' Are you finished for the day?'' Beiyuan asked.

'' For now. I have another meeting in a couple hours. ''

Beiyuan nodded in understanding. He was about to say something, when a pain caught him by surprise. He felt his stomach cramp, and the nausea came back with the vengeance. 

Wu Xi noticed instantly, and brought his Omega close to him, leaning him against his broad chest. His fingers went to his husband's wrist, feeling the change in his vitals. 

'' Beiyuan, what's wrong?'' His voice firm, letting him know he wants an answer.

'' Hurts.''

'' What does? Talk to me.''

'' My stomach. I think..'' He trailed off. 

'' Beiyuan?''

The parents could hear their child's terrified voice. Wu Xi could see from the corner of his eye that his student was trying to get out of Ping An's arms, wanting to get to his father. The Alpha would address that later, as he kept his sharp gaze on his beloved husband's pale face. 

'' Beiyuan!'' He called for him again. 

The Omega whimpered, passing out in his husband's arms. 

Wu Xi, got to work immediately, everyone clearing the way as he took his Omega to their rooms, their son's cries ringing in his head. He closed the door behind him. Nothing was going to happen to his lover on his watch. 

Chapter 2: Answers

Notes:

Finally have a chance to upload. Got busy with a crazy work schedule, and a bad migraine on top of it.
I did notice that I forgot a few tags, but will take care of it later. Obviously this a Alpha/Omega/Beta verse. I don't write it that often, so bear with me. If the characters are a bit off, I am working on it. I still need to read ' Lord Seventh'

Ping An patted Lu Ta's back, trying to calm the young boy. They were waiting to hear an updates, regarding Beiyuan. The child was still sniffling, trying to stop himself from crying. 

'' It'll be alright. '' Ping An assured him.

'' How do you know?'' Lu Ta hiccupped. 

'' Do you think the Great Shaman would allow anything to happen to your father?''

Lu Ta blinked, and shook his head. 

'' N-No.'' 

Ping An smiled.

'' That's right. Your father is in good hands.''

Lu Ta nodded. He trusted the older Alpha with every fiber of his being. The child could see how protective his teacher was of his Consort, and the man wouldn't hesitate to hunt down anyone who tries to bring him harm. He looked up at Ping An. 

'' Do you think he will let me see father soon?''

'' I'm sure he will. Just be patient.''

Lu Ta listened, the little Alpha looking at the door leading to his parent's rooms.

Wu Xi brought the covers over his Omega's form, making sure he was comfortable. He took his large hand and cupped his husband's face, stroking his cheekbone. How he didn't figure it out before, astounds him. His Beiyuan was pregnant. His sweeter scent making so much sense now. It also explained their son's clinginess. 

The Shaman leaned down and kissed his forehead, and ran his fingers through his hair. He glanced to the door to their room, and could hear the shuffling of little feet. Their son was waiting to come in, so he could see his parent's. Before he could get up to let the child in, he saw his husband's eyes flutter. 

'' Beiyuan?'' 

With a bit of struggling, the Prince opened his eyes, his gaze instantly finding his Alpha's. 

'' Little Venom.''

Wu Xi smiled at the nickname. He gently stalked his soft cheek, his instincts telling him to be gentle. 

'' How are you feeling?''

'' Tired.''

Wu Xi nodded. That was to be expected. 

'' What happened?''

'' You fainted.''

Beiyuan's brows furrowed. 

'' Fainted...why?''

'' You're pregnant.'' As blunt as ever, how else was he supposed to tell him. 

'' What?'' Beiyuan blinked. Did he mishear what his husband said? He didn't think so, but he wanted to hear the answer again. 

''  You are with child, Love.''

The Prince's hand went to his mouth, tears springing to his peach blossom eyes. His other hand going to his stomach. His felt his husband's hand join his own. Wu Xi squeezed his hand tightly in comfort. They haven't talked about having children of their own. When Lu Ta came into their lives, it was to raise him to become the next Great Shaman, after Wu Xi stepped down. Of course, Beiyuan took to the child, treating him as he was his own. They adopted him, and loved the child deeply. Lu Ta loving them just as much. How would Lu Ta react to becoming an older brother?

Beiyuan looked at his husband. 

'' We never talked about this.''

Wu Xi could hear the nervousness in his voice. The Great Shaman was quick to reassure him.

'' Are you happy?'' He asked after a moment.

Beiyuan nodded, his throat tight.

'' That's all that matters to me. Beiyuan, you are a wonderful father to Lu Ta, and will be for this child. Our son adores you, and our people love you. Trust me, you're ready for this.''

Beiyuan let his Alpha's words wash over him, his deep voice comforting him. He wrapped his arms around the Great Shaman's neck, pulling him down towards him. 

Wu Xi let himself be pulled, wrapping his strong arms around his Omega's frame. The Alpha knew this was going to take a toll on his husband, as his health has always been on the fragile side. Not to mention his lover's doubts about his place here in Nan Jiang. While most of the people accept and love him as the Great Shaman's consort, there were few who had a dislike for him.

It certainly made the Alpha more protective than he already was. He would be sure to keep an eye on them once the news was heard of the pregnancy. 

'' I want to see Lu Ta.'' Beiyuan's voice was soft. 

Wu Xi smiled. 

The Omega's instincts were telling him to hold his older child close. It was normal for an expectant Omega. 

'' Alright. I'll send for him.'' He kissed his husband's forehead.

Ping An did his best to keep the young boy distracted. He was having him review scrolls on medicines. The boy was sullen, but did as he was told. 

He looked up as Nu A Ha approached him. He stood up. The two men bowed at each other. 

'' The Great Shaman is requesting for Lu Ta's presence. ''

Ping An nodded. 

Lu Ta didn't have to be told twice. The boy got up, and rushed to the doors of his parent's room. Normally, he would listen to Ping An, telling him to slow down, but not this time. He wanted his parents. 

He opened the doors, and went inside.

Chapter 3: Telling Lu Ta

Finally getting around to posting, work schedule has been all over the place, and since its rainy day off, figured today was a good day for it.

I hope you enjoy it!

When Lu Ta entered his parent's room, their scents washed over him. The pair looked up when they saw their son. The child noted that his Father was in his Teacher's arms. His back to the Alpha's chest. The Shaman's hold was protective, and careful. 

'' Lu Ta.''

Said child jolted at his Father's gentle voice. He approached his parent's. and climbed into his Father's lap. His Father held him to his body. The child hugged him. 

'' How are you, Father? Are you okay?'' Worry was evident in the child's voice. 

Beiyuan exchanged a look with Wu Xi. He nodded, silently telling him to tell their son. They definitely couldn't hide it for long, and it would stress the young Alpha if he thought anything was wrong with his parent's. He looked back down at his son. 

'' I'm fine, my sweet boy. I promise. We do have something to tell you.''

Lu Ta blinked, looking up at him. 

'' What is it, Father?'' 

'' Well, Lu Ta. I'm...''

Wu Xi could tell that his husband was nervous to tell their son the news. He rubbed his back, and took over the conversation. This is why his bluntness comes in handy. His Beiyuan was usually a lot more open and playful. He looked at the young boy. 

'' Lu Ta, Your Father is with child.''

The boy looked at his parent's. It clearly took a moment for their son to comprehend what the older Alpha said. Once it did, Lu Ta looked at his Omega parent.  The young child tried to see the difference in him. His parent's were watching him.

'' I'm going to be a big brother?'' He asked, voice full of wonder. His eye's wide.

Wu Xi pressed his cheek to Beiyuan's head, his gaze still on their son. The Great Shaman nodded, answering Lu Ta's question. Beiyuan leaned more of his body against his husband's. Wu Xi, in return, tightened his grip on him, taking his weight easily. They watched as Lu Ta put his little hand on his Father's stomach, a smile on his face. 

'' Will it be a boy or girl?'' The child asked, curiously. 

'' We won't know until the baby is born.'' Wu Xi explained. 

'' What do you think the gender will be?'' Beiyuan asked their son. They were amused as a thinking expression crossed his round face. 

'' Um... a girl.'' 

'' Really?''

Lu Ta nodded.

His parent's shared a look. They were both happy with whatever gender the unborn baby was, as well as their secondary gender. As long as their baby was healthy, that's all that matters.

A week passed since the family found out about their newest addition. Only close household staff, Lu Ta, and Wu Xi knew of Beiyuan's pregnancy. For Beiyuan's safety, Wu Xi kept the news on the down low. Beiyuan went along with it, for their child's protection.

Beiyuan had woken up early that morning, due to persisting nausea. He had quietly gotten out of bed, trying not to wake his husband. It wasn't easy, due to the fact that he was next to the wall, and Wu Xi is typically a light sleeper. He leaned down slightly, and kissed his husband's cheek. 

He sat down at the window, opening it just enough to breathe in the crisp fresh air, hoping to calm his stomach down. The light breeze felt amazing on his clammy skin. He closed his peach blossom eye's, his hair slightly fluttering with the breeze.

'' Beiyuan?''

The Omega turned at the deep voice, groggy with sleep. Wu Xi was sitting up slightly, looking in his direction. Beiyuan guessed that his empty side of the bed woke him up. Something he was trying to avoid. 

'' Little Venom.'' He responded. 

Wu Xi got up from their bed, and quietly strolled over to him. He kneeled down next to him, and placed a hand on Beiyuan's cheek. 

'' Are you alright?''

'' I'm fine.''

Wu Xi rose an eyebrow, not believing him. 

'' I'm fine, really. Just a bit nauseous.''

The Alpha nodded his head, as it has been constant nausea since they discovered the pregnancy. He made a mental note to send for some tea, with mint.

'' Why didn't you just wake me up?''

'' I didn't want to disturb your sleep. You have been busy lately. You need your rest.''

Wu Xi shook his head. 

'' Beiyuan, so do you. Your body is going through so much right now. It is essential to get enough sleep. If you are unable to sleep, please wake me, so I can help you. Alright?''

Beiyuan bit his lip, and agreed. 

The Great Shaman gave him a smile, and sat with him, gathering his husband into his arms. Beiyuan settled against him, taking comfort in his strong arms. They both had a hand on his flat abdomen.

Lu Ta was just finishing up his lessons for the day. He looked at his Teacher, as he cleaned up their mess. It didn't take long for Wu Xi to notice. The Great Shaman rose an eyebrow at the boy. His firm gaze locked on his son. 

'' What is it, Lu Ta?'' He asked. 

'' It's..''' He was unsure how to word it, the thoughts going through his young mind. 

Wu Xi stayed silent, waiting for him to continue. He watches the boy bite his lip in thought. He mentally questioned what was making the child nervous. The Shaman prompted him again, to get him to talk. 

Lu Ta wanted to ask if things would change once the baby was here, but he was too young to really get these thoughts spoken. He was also scared. He heard a few of the staff whispering about what could happen during pregnancy, and the birth. That scares the wits out of him. How does he tell his parents?

Chapter 4: Reassurance and Fear

Summary:

Beiyuan talks to Lu Ta about the child's feelings, and a trip in the market goes wrong.

....Wu Xi is pissed.

I am so sorry for the long wait! My work schedule has been crazy hectic. I hope to get back into writing and will be planning to update again sometime this week.

I hope you all are doing well. Thank you all for the patience, and I hope you will continue to be patient with me while I get back into my writing.

A week passed since Wu Xi had that quiet interaction with Lu Ta. He has been keeping an eye on the boy. After getting dressed for the day, he turned to look at this husband, who was resting in bed. Nausea was being violently persistent as of late. The Alpha sat down next to his spouse, who in turn, looked up at him with drowsy eyes. 

'' How are you feeling?'' He asked.

'' A little better. The tonic is helping.''

Wu Xi brushed his lover's hair away from his face. He smiled as Beiyuan's eyes fluttered at his touch. He thought the himself for a moment, then started a different topic. Their son.

'' Beiyuan?''

'' Hmm?''

'' Have you noticed something different about Lu Ta?''

That got the Omega's attention. He nodded, biting his lip. He looked at his husband. 

'' Yes. He's been more withdrawn, like he has something on his mind. Nervous as well, if anything. Has Lu Ta said anything?''

Wu Xi shook his head. He took Beiyuan's hand in his, his thumb stroking the soft skin on the back of his hand. He told him of the peculiar interaction they had last week. He could see Beiyuan's concern. He assured him that everything will work out.

'' I'll try talking to him. Maybe he'll open up to me.''

Wu Xi smiled at Beiyuan's words. 

'' If anyone could get him to talk, it is you.''

Beiyuan smiled, a light blush on his face. He squeezed his husband's hand.

'' I'll send for Lu Ta shortly. Do you feel well enough to talk to him?'' Wu Xi asked

He won't risk Beiyuan's health. Beiyuan assured him that he would be fine, and he may take a small stroll with the child. Wu Xi was unsure, but agreed, trusting his judgment.

He leaned down and kissed his husband gently. Beiyuan smiled into the kiss, his hand cupping the back of Wu Xi's neck, kissing his husband back. He felt the Alpha place his hand on his stomach. The Omega placed his hand on top of Wu Xi's larger one. They stayed that way for a moment longer, not wanting to separate from each other. 

Wu Xi pulled away first.

'' After your stroll, please try to rest. I know you haven't been well. I know you said you were feeling better, but I can tell it's worse than what you've been letting on.''

Beiyuan smiled tiredly at him. 

'' I promise I will. ''

Wu Xi nodded, getting up. 

'' I'm off now. I will be back as soon as I can.''

Beiyuan nodded, smiling at him.

About Thirty minutes later, a now dressed Beiyuan made his way out of his chambers, where his son his to meet him. Sliding the door open, he saw the young child, waiting for him. Beiyuan smiled at the child. 

'' Good morning, Lu Ta.''

Lu Ta gave him a bright smile in return, throwing his arms around the Omega's legs. The young Alpha smiled against his body. He felt his parent rub his small back, bringing him comfort. 

'' Did you eat anything yet?'' Beiyuan asked. 

'' Yes, Father.''

Beiyuan hummed in acknowledgment. He offered the child his hand, who took it instantly. The Prince nudged the child toward the courtyard. 

'' Would you like to take stroll to the market with me?'' He asked.

Lu Ta nodded. 

'' Is Teacher okay with it?'' The child was vibrating with excitement. 

Beiyuan laughed. 

'' Yes, he's fine with it. You'll have to do your studies later, though.''

Lu Ta pouted. 

'' None of that. You know better.''

Lu Ta nodded.

'' Yes, Father.''

'' Good boy.''

For a while, the two walked around the market, before stopping for some lunch. Beiyuan could hear his son's stomach growling. He guided his son inside the restaurant. The owner greeted him immediately. His tone chipper and friendly. Being married to the Great Shaman, he was always catered to. 

The owner led the to a quiet table in the corner of the building. Beiyuan's guards stationed themselves so they could get to him quickly if needed. 

Beiyuan looked around, making note of who was around him and his son, then turned to Lu Ta. He motioned to the owner, who came to his side. He asked for a simple meal, and tea for himself, and something a little more filling for Lu Ta. The owner was gone before he could blink. 

'' Father?''

Beiyuan looked at his son. 

'' Yes?''

The child bit his lower lip. He looked hesitant. 

His parent noticed it right away..

'' What is it, Lu Ta?'' Beiyuan was patient, letting the child gather his thoughts. 

'' Are you still... sick?''

Beiyuan blinked. 

'' Lu Ta. I'm alright. Nausea is completely normal in pregnancy.''

Lu Ta looked like he wanted to say more. Beiyuan gently prompted him. 

'' Are you....are you going to forget about me?'' He asked, his voice small, and weak. 

Beiyuan was not expecting this question. He took a second to collect himself, before he motioned the child to come to him. Lu Ta got up, and shuffled over to the Omega. 

Beiyuan picked him up and brought him onto his lap. He honestly didn't care if he was in public, his child was hurting. He was not going to tolerate that. 

'' What do you mean? Why in the world would we forge about you?'' He kept his gentle gaze locked with the little Alpha. 

'' You will have an actual child... I won't matter anymore.'' He mumbled, tearing up. 

Beiyuan felt his own eye's fill with tears. His son really felt this way? That hurt his heart in more way than he thought possible. 

'' My sweet, little Tonic. You will always matter to me, and Wu Xi. We are your parent's. It doesn't matter to us that you were brought to us to be the next Shaman after Wu Xi. We love you, so much. I know you must be afraid, but we will never forget about you, or love you any less, then your little brother or sister. Do you understand me?'' Beiyuan looked at his child, lovingly, yet firmly. 

Lu Ta nodded, tears streaming down his little face. He brought his arm around his Omega parent, clinging to his front like a little koala. Beiyuan brought him closer, resting his head on top his Lu Ta's. He was grateful that the guards made sure on one was watching them. He didn't plan to have this little emotional breakdown in public. 

'' If you ever feel this way again, please tell us. Wu Xi and I never want you to think you can't come to us. I don't care if I am unwell, I will always be putting you and the baby first, okay?''

Lu Ta nodded, feeling the love radiating in his Father's scent.

After eating, the two decided to slowly start making their way home to the estate. Lu Ta skipped a bit a head, feeling lighter. Beiyuan watched him with a smile. 

He was so focused on his son, that he didn't notice the danger fast approaching him. 

'' Lord Seventh!'' One the guards called out. 

He barely had a chance to react before he was roughly grabbed. The arm holding him was to tight, and his heart raced when he felt something sharp placed against his stomach. He froze, not wanting to risk his unborn child's life.

He didn't know what the this man wanted. He was aware there were still few who despised him, just for who he is. Most of Nan Jiang respected and adored him, since their Shaman brought him here himself, making it clear he was going to marry him.  The people all admired how much the powerful Alpha was protective of him and his family. 

'' Father!!'' A shrill voice screamed out. His eye's found Lu Ta, the child's face white with fright. He could see the child's instincts trying to kick in, the young Alpha wanted to protect him, his expecting parent. 

He really wished his husband had come with him,

The guards pointed their weapons at the man who tightened his grip, causing Beiyuan to wince in pain. 

'' Release him! '' One of the guards ordered.

'' No.'' The man hissed. 

Beiyuan wanted to so badly defend himself. He panicked as black spots filled his vision. Just he thought the worse was about to happen, a strong presence filled the street.  Beiyuan gathered enough energy to focus his eyes.

It was Wu Xi. 

He looked murderous.

 

As he started to lose consciousness, he could feel the familiar arms of Ping An, and Lu Ta throwing himself at him. When was he released? He had no idea, he was gently brought the ground. 

He could hear the man scream as he was restrained, and the quick intake in breaths as the Great Shaman approached him, his form deadly, his little green snake hissing in response to his owners anger. 

He fazed out the sounds around him, the only thing he could focus on is Lu Ta's cries, and the cramping in his abdomen. He could feel something wet on thigh.  The Prince passed out, just barely hearing his husbands voice.

Chapter 5: Hope and Time Flies

Summary:

Beiyuan wakes up after the incident in the market.

Time moves forward, and the pregnancy progresses.

Notes:

Hey guys, I have really been wanting to update for a while now. For this chapter, I didn't do any sort of rough draft, I am completely winging it! ^^ Hopefully this chapter will turn out okay!

When Beiyuan awakened next, it was in his and his husband rooms. He let his eyes adjust to the lighting, which was dimmed, lit by the candles. The Omega let out a soft whimper as he felt the soreness in his body. The last thing he remembered is the incident at the market, and his stomach cramping. 

'' Beiyuan?'' A deep voice spoke gently.

He turned his head, seeing his husband there at his bedside. He could see the relief on the Alpha's face. He wanted to ask Wu Xi about their baby, but he was honestly to frightened to ask. Wu Xi, as always, could read him easily. He leaned forward, placing his large hand on his husband's stomach. 

'' The child is fine. You only bled a little bit, and the stress caused your womb to cramp. I promise, you're still carrying the child.''

Beiyuan could feel the tears fill his eyes, as the weight on his chest lifted. Tears slipped down his cheek before he could stop them. As he sat up, he grabbed onto his husband, clinging to him, sobs wracking his body. He very rarely lost his composure this way, but with the added hormones, he couldn't help it.  He felt his Alpha's strong arms come around him, stroking his back. He heard his whispering his reassurances into his ear. 

The Prince placed his hand on his stomach, still borrowing himself in his husband's arms, letting his emotions out.

As the weeks passed, Beiyuan was told more of what happened after he fainted at the market. The guard were punished, but not to unkindly. They definitely had to prove to the Great Shaman that they could protect their leader's consort and their children. The man who attacked the expecting Omega.... was a whole other story. 

The Great Shaman was pissed when arrived at the market. The man tried to justify his actions, only to cower in the powerful Alpha's presence.  Wu Xi made himself clear to his household, and his people, that HE would handle the man himself.  The idiotic man paled at that, only to be taken away for Wu Xi to deal with later. 

Once Wu Xi was sure his spouse would be fine, he went to see the prisoner.

By the time the Great Shaman was done with him......

....... His body was unrecognizable. 

 

Beiyuan had accepted his husbands actions, wishing he could get his hands on the man as well, for endangering his children's lives. He was grateful Lu Ta wasn't to affected from the event. Once the young Alpha saw that Beiyuan was awake, and his teacher confirmed he will be fine, the child instantly brightened up.

Beiyuan was sitting at a table, watching Lu Ta, his hand on the small bump that had formed, where his unborn child is starting to grow.

Two months pass quickly. 

Beiyuan's nausea has gone, and his bump has become noticeable. It was now noticeable through his robes. He was currently in his Fourth month, nearing the Fifth. Wu Xi has been keeping a close eye on him as the pregnancy progresses, becoming more protective. 

The Omega just checked on his son, who was working on his studies, and was now going to see his husband. He entered Wu Xi's study, and smiled at the sight of his Alpha. 

Wu Xi looked up as his lover's scent filled the room. He gave him a smile, waiting for Beiyuan to come closer to him. Once his Omega was next to him, he pulled him onto his lap. Beiyuan chuckled, wrapping his arms around his husband's neck. 

'' Little Venom, what are you doing?''

'' I was working, until you came in. Now I am holding you.''

Beiyuan gave him an amused look.

Wu Xi has been more affectionate lately, constantly pulling him onto his lap. He explained it was common as the pregnancy progresses, and his body changes to accommodate the child. Beiyuan shrugged, not minding the attention he was getting from his husband. 

They spent the afternoon, talking, their hands on his baby bump, rubbing the stretching skin. Beiyuan couldn't wait to be able to feel their little one move. 

' It will happen in no time.' Beiyuan thought to himself, a smile gracing his lips.
