This was officially the worst idea he has ever had.
“oh shit oh shit, wrong thing”

“Stevie? are you alright in there?” eddie yells from the living room.
“YEAH IM FINE” Steve just horribly failed a potion and accidentally just blew up his work space for the 20th time this month. “are you fucking kidding me, what happened” he mutters to himself. He really should be more careful, nobody knows hes a witch(?) and hes doing a horrible job at hiding it.
Currently he’s trying to make a healing potion but if you couldnt tell, he failed miserably.
All of a sudden there was a knock on his office door, “Can i come in baby? please?” Its eddie.
“oh shit” he whisperes, “Yeah hold on!” He quickly starts putting all his stuff away but realizes that’ll take to long, he doesnt have the time. He has to practice more anyways so he says a quick spell and suddenly everything moves on its own to a hiding spot. Out of side out of mind right?
As soon as everything stops moving he opens the door. “Hey love, you alright? I heard a bang, what happened?” Eddie asks, walking into the room. He wraps his hands sound steve’s waist while steve wraps his arms around eddie’s neck.
“yeah im alright” he says
“What was the bang?”
steve sighs, nobody knows what he is or what he practices except for his mom and that’s because shes the one that taught him witchcraft and magick. It’s been 5 months since defeating vecna and destroying the upside down. Its about time to tell everyone, its getting harder everyday to hide it.
His mom taught him when he turned 16, his dad was always on buisness trips anyway. Its been in his moms side of the family for decades. His moms out exploring the world now, like she’s always wanted to. Hes happy for her. She calls every week to check in. She truly is an amazing mom.
Back to the topic at hand, hes hid this for do long its about time to tell everyone.
“I’ll tell you but im only explaining it once so i need everyone to listen. How about later, when everyonei s here?” They all have monthly get togethers since vecna, tonight is this months meetup. Its one of the only times everyone is together so it would probably be the best time to tell them.
“ok? is it that important?”
“yeah it kind of is”
“Ok then, I love you” Eddie kisses him.
“I love you too” Steve says, resting his forehead against Eddie’s.

Three hours later, everyone’s gathered in Steve and Eddie’s living room (steve’s parents gave him the house) and Steve is about to tell them probably the biggest secret he has ever had.
Hopper is sitting with Joyce and Murray, laughing about whatever the hell adults laugh at. Max, Eleven, and Erica are all sitting on/alone around the bean bag. Dustin, Mike, Lucas, and Will are sitting on the floor. Robin, Steve and Eddie are on one side of the couch while Nancy, Jonathan, and Argyle on the other side.
Their all just talking, catching up. Steve decides now would probably be a good time to do this. Eddie’s legs are slung over his so he pushes at them, trying to get him off.
“Eddie baby, it’s time”
“Really?” His eyes light up like christmas lights. Steve just giggles at this and says “yeah, now”
“What do you guy’s mean?” Robin asks.
“Stevie has a secret and he’s about to tell us!” at this everyone turns to steve.
“Jeez sweetheart, had to put all three attention on me?” he says, standing up and stretching. Eddie whistles at him when his shirt rides up. That just earns Eddie a light slap ln the arm. “Anyways he’s not wrong, I have something that’s kinda pretty important to tell you guys, ive been meaning to tell you for a while but i just havnt really got the chance to. Mainly because I wanted to perfect what i was working on so I can show off but yknow, accidentally made it go boom instead of what it was supposed to do.” Steve rants as he walks over to his book shelf so he can get to his work space that has all his stuff. On the way over he picks up what looks like a diary, everyone's eyes watching his every move.
“Did you commit murder or something?” Lucas smacks the back of dustin’s head for that. “OW what the hell dude”
“Language” Steve says as he puts his ‘diary’ down on one of the shelves. After he put it down he takes a step back and turns to look at everyone. “Ok please watch carefully because i am NOT doing this part again”
Everyone just looks at him expectantly, for once following directions. He takes a long, deep breath and raises both of his hands. His palms are facing the bookshelf.
“Aperta” As he says that he bends his fingers and they slowly start glowing a soft pink. The bookshelf splits in half and opens like school doors. He slowly move his hands outwards, and the doors(?) bookshelf(?) opens wide. As hea finishing he says a quick “Gratias tibi” and lowers his hands. He takes another deep breath and holds it for 5 seconds before letting it out and turning around.
As he turns around to see everyones reaction, it’s basically what he suspected. Dustin, Mike, and Lucas are gaping at him. Will and Elevan look really intrested, and Max and Erica is just staring at him like their trying to hold back their shock and excitement. The adults are all looking at him like he just solved world hunger. Jonathan and Nancy look just as shocked as dustin mike and lucas, Argyle just looks high as a kite(lucky). Robin looks like she about to explode. Eddie, oh sweet so beautifully handsome Eddie, looks like steve hung the moon and the stars.
“Ta-Da” Steve says, giving them little jaz hands. Eddie shoots up from the couch and practically tackles him, they fall onto the ground but seemingly dont notice, or care.
“THAT WAS AWESOME BABY” Eddie yells as he peppers Steve’s face with kisses. “So fucking metal”
“yeah?”
“yeah” and then he flashes steve a toothy grin that reaches his eyes. Steve grabs his face and kisses him until the kids start yelling.
“THAT WAS SO COOL” Dustin and Lucas say at the same time. Mike is still gaping at him. Erica just gives him a small “yeah it was kinda cool i guess” and Max rolls her eyes but has a soft smile on her face.
“WHY DIDNT YOU TELL ME DINGUS, THATS SO SO COOL” Robin still looks like shes going to explode, just a little more toned down.
Argyle gives him a “Yeah man, that was amazing”
Nancy and Jonathan still looked shocked, nancy looks kind of constipated to be honest. He thinks she moght be trying to process what just happened.
The adults stay quiet.
Eleven gets up and walk over to steve, kneeling down next to him. “You are like me?”
“Kinda, im a bit more complicated then just ‘having powers’. Its called witchcraft. I’ll explain later alright?”
She nods and bends down to join the hug with Eddie and him. Steve has a feeling he and her will get a lot closer after this(spoiler warning, she basically hangs around him 24/7 now).
Steve knows he has a lot of things to explain, but he’s quite content right now. Surrounded by the people he loves. Yeah he can definitely get used to this.
Steve also has a feeling that this was one of the best ideas hes had.
