Chapter Text
For those of you who haven’t read Gakuen Alice before, I will explain the power and school system so the story will be easy to understand.
Alice is a natural born power in people. It can vary from being able to fly to even make people faint by a fart (real, no joke). Not many are born with these and some are never even found (the manga stated the school had around 200 students if they counted from primary school to high school, so yeah they aren’t that many).
They made a system to divide the powers:
- Predisposition: most common and traditional Alices are placed here. Examples: power over fire, clairvoyance, teleportation, divination, power of vision, illusionary powers, etc.
- Technology: any experiment can create an Alice level. Examples: making dolls come to life, powers to draw animated pictures, ingredients turn out to have unexplainable effects, etc.
- Active: it’s more involved with pheromones and active Alices. Examples: sonic speed, metamorphosis, manipulation of hearts through sound, etc.
- Special: it’s basically a class where Alices who don’t fit the other three types are put in. The powers are different and the class is mixed (Mikan, the protagonist, calls it a ‘class for leftovers’. P.S.: she ends up in that class, lmao).
Furthermore, all Alice holders can have any kind of form:
- First form: it only works during the Alice’s childhood.
- Second form: it has little power but it lasts for a long time.
- Third form: the power may be explosive, but its lifespan is very short.
- Fourth form: the power is limitless, but it shortens the user’s lifespan.
Well, I think that’s all the info you need?
Oh, and the government pays a nice sum to the family if they let their child into Gakuen Alice. Still, most parents deny the entrance to their children because Gakuen Alice won’t let the kids see their family until they finish high school, in other words, if they enter when they are 6 years old, they won’t see their family again until they are 17/18 years old.
There is a special award for hard working students that lets them see their family for a week, but it’s a thing for one student in every section (elementary, middle and high school) so yeah only a selected few can achieve it.
One more thing, there's the stars rank. Depending on your rank, you can get a good and more spacious room and you can get more allowance money every month (in canon, it also dictates how much food you can get but I don't like the thought of children starving so yeah let's ignore that fact).
- No-star: very rare to get, given to bad students.
- One-star: the common one.
- Two-stars: the second common one but this one is given to more powerful alice holders.
- Three-stars: a little rare, given to outstanding students in both alice powers and exam ranks.
- Special: very, very rare. As an example of who can get this one, I will mention Natsume, a character in GA, because of his circumstances, he was given the Special rank as a kind of tranquilizer (?) for all the things he has to do for the school. I don't think, if there's a chara in my fic with this rank, that I will put them through such things but let's see!
P.S.: I won’t include the original GA characters. Let’s think this academy is from Korea and not the original from Japan! or not, whatever.
Now, I think that’s all you need. Let’s get started!
