Chapter Text
Emerald eyes slowly opened, strawberry freckles dotted on soft cheeks. The blinding fluorescent lights making said eyes sting. The young man’s face scrunched as he slowly raised his hands to rub at the headache starting to throb behind his skull. The man sat up, his hair matching his eyes that were shielded from the lights. He reopened them with ease as they adjusted to the white room he was in. Then his cheeks puffed, he gagged, and bent over reaching for the white bin under his sleeping pod. Nothing but burning bile vomited from his throat, tears streamed down his face as it dripped out from his nose. He groaned falling on the floor, he gaged again as more yellowish fluid spewed from his mouth and into the bin.
A brown bob rose from across him, her brown eyes squinted at the blinding lights, just like he did. When she could fully open her eyes, her cheeks filled with air as she too bent over to empty her stomach.
One by one, each of their crew mates awoke to vomit into opaque bins. They stared at each other in disgust, then laughed.
_____
The man with full green curls, now walked down a hallway of white and metal, he dried his now damp hair with a fluffy towel. The brunette came up beside him bouncing with life, now wearing a light gray jacket with a pink ‘O’ on the sleeve.
“Morning Izuku,” she spoke. Her voice soft and welcoming, he glanced at her with a kind smile.
“Morning Ochako,” he greeted back.
The two happily walked to the cockpit where another man with jet black hair sat in his chair. He leaned back smiling at them as the door opened.
“Evening!” he yelled, raising a hand.
“Officer, Hanta,” Ochako nodded.
Izuku did the same. He walked to a chair with a green jacket and slipped it on. He looked proudly at the black ‘I’ on his shoulder. The door opened again and four men and a woman walked into the spacious room wearing their special jackets as well.
“It’s good to see you my fellow green haired friend,” the woman with a shade darker then Izuku’s hair, said bowing.
“Always a pleasure Asai,” Izuku smiled.
“Good afternoon my friends,” the blonde one said energetically.
“You have no idea how good it feels to be awake,” the redhead said, tilting his head and swinging his arms.
A man with heterochromia eyes just threw up two fingers in the air in a peace sign with a smile. Which made all of them laugh.
But the last young man with black eyes stared at Izuku longingly, the man just looked to the floor with tight lips. Ochako noticed, squinting her eyes, but she didn’t dare say anything.
The atomic doors opened one more time for a blue haired man, his jacket being a little darker than his hair. Everyone in the room stood to their feet, straightened their posture and stared ahead. The man put on a pair of rectangular glasses and walked to the largest chair in the cockpit. He turned and cleared his throat.
“Ochako Uraraka, Izuku Midoriya, Sero Hanta, Shindo Yo, Denki Kaminari, Eijirou Kirishima, and Tsuyu Asai,” He bowed to the group. “I, Tenya Iida, your captain, have the information you all are probably waiting for.” he said. Izuku balled his fists and swallowed. “We have reached Udome.” Their captain smiled.
The room erupted with cheers and claps, their captain bowed with a smile. Uraraka covered her mouth and jumped into Iida’s arms squeezing tight. Izuku poked his lip out at the sweet couple while the rest whistled as they kissed. Izuku felt eyes on him and turned, again coal those eyes peered into his. Izuku just looked away again.
Shindo walked to Tenya when Urakaka peeled herself away from him. “Captain, when do we drop?” Shindo asked.
“As soon as we can,” Iida replied with a smile.
Kirishima clapped. “Let’s get suited up then!” he yelled
Asai, Izuku, Shindo, Sero, and Denki all secured their suits on the hatch. Uraraka helped who needed, she stopped at Izuku.
“You okay?” she whispered.
He nodded and gave her a tiny smile.
“You tell if he bothers you, I swear i’ll cut his balls right off-“
“Ochako,” he shrieked in horror.
She put her hands up. “I’m just saying I will,” Uraraka eyed him.
Izuku laughed and held her shoulder. “I’ll be fine,”
She squeezed his gloved hand and smiled. Uraraka stared at Shindo for a minute before she ducked out of the doorway and closed it. “Closing hatch,” she announced, into a tiny screen with a keypad attached.
The atomic doors shut and locked.
“Good luck cadets, bring me back something interesting,” Iida spoke through their coms.
“Will do cap,” Denki said.
“Hatch door seventeen opening,” the brunette said.
The huge door fell letting the natural light from outside in. Izuku was the first to lined up his eyes widened. It was nothing but lush green nature, thick vines tangled in themselves and hanging from massive mushroom like trees. When Asai shoved him forward he stumbled out.
“Come on Mido!” she said playfully as she walked on a head.
The rest of them followed as he trailed behind them. Izuku stuck his hand out as a gentle mist collected in his palm, a smile grew on his face.
“Hello planet Undome,” he whispered.
“I can’t wait to see your face when you finally discovered something,” a voice called behind him.
He swallowed and turned. Shindo stood just a centimeters away, his clear helmet showing his smug smile.
“Y-yeah,” Is all Izuku could say.
He twisted back around and continued walking with the two ahead of him. When he caught up, Denki smiled at him.
“So I heard you’re the scientist,” he said.
“I’m actually a botanist, but yes, I take samples of all life and examine them.” Izuku explained.
“That’s cool, I work with electronic instruments,” Denki informed with pride.
“That’s cool too, we might work together on a mission!” Izuku beamed.
Denki smiled big. “Yeah!” he yelled.
____
Izuku held a large pair of tweezers that used to pluck a tiny mushroom out of the ground and put it in a small plastic bag. He had already gathered grass from three different locations, some moss from both on the ground and trees, along with lots of bark, a gaint bottle full of water from the river near by, and four decent sized containers full of dirt. He carefully placed them in his bag and stood ready to go back. He watched carefully where he stepped, but stopped when movement caught his eye. Izuku watched the trees it came from with squinted eyes. He saw nothing, but wasn’t convinced, he stepped closer to the tree. Izuku tilted his head when he made something that looked like a face on the bark. Then, scarlet eyes snapped open, Izuku jumped back with a yelp, landing on his butt, he crawled on his backwards as his breathing increased. The eyes followed him closely, like it was observing him.
“Izuku!” Shindo’s voice echoed in the distance.
Izuku looked in that direction as Shindo stumbled and tripped on overgrown vines. He slid on his knees to cradle Izuku close. The way Shindo gripped him was a little tight for Izuku’s liking, but he glanced back up at the tree to see nothing. Those ruby red eyes were no longer there.
“Are you alright?” Shinso asked, shaking Izuku a little.
Izuku squirmed and pushed him away. “Y-Yeah, you can l-let go now,” he whispered.
“Oh yeah,” He said with a laugh. “Sorry, just got worried,”
Izuku didn’t say a word, he just got up using the tree as leverage.
Asai came stumbling the same way Shindo had. “Are you guys okay?” she asked, concern lacing her voice.
“Yeah we’re good,” Shindo yelled, sounding a little annoyed.
Izuku walked up to her as she held out her hand, she helped Shindo too as the three of them headed back to the ship. When they all regrouped at the shops door Izuku pressed his com.
“Uraraka, open the door we’re ready,” he said.
It opened a second later and they all piled in. When the door closed, disinfectant sprayed out from misters. One by one they were let back into the ship.
“Midoriya, are you alright? I just heard what happened,” Iida stopped the green haired man.
“I’m fine, just thought I saw something,” he whispered.
“Like what?” his Captain asked.
“Eyes,” Izuku looked up at Iida this time. “Bright red eyes, I can’t get them out of head,” he said pinching his temples.
“Could there be a possibility that life form on this planet? Can UA’s estimate be true?!” Iida asked with excitement.
“Captain with all due respect I have no clue, but there is a chance? I collected as much samples as I could, I’m on my way to examine them now,” he replied, clearing his throat.
Iida stepped back. “I won’t keep you then,” He smiled wide then sped walked in the other direction. “I accept big news the next time I see you!” his captain yelled, from down the hall.
Izuku bit his lip and walked to his room.
