Rhaenyra was sleeping peacefully in her chambers with her husband, they were planning on having one of those lazy days, taking the dragons for a ride the next morning, and preparing for the baby.
But suddenly without a reason or some kind of warning, a bunch of masterers, the guards, and the queen showed to their room.
"Rhae.." Alicent said storming in with all of the guards and maesterers, it had been ages since that nickname appeared, which made Rhaeneyra open her eyes at the second, whatever news she came it must be serious.
"Alicent?" Rhaenyra said groggily while Leanor was rolling his eyes and growling hiding behind his pillow, he didn't get the clues, plus he was sleepy.
"Viserys... He's dying. I tried to give him poppy milk and he... He's... You need... Please. He's asking for you." Alicent said in a full panic attack, which made the couple wake up, now Laenor stood up trying to make the pregnant woman sit, Alicent was in the last moon of her pregnancy, and this stress wasn't good for her.
Rhaeneyra hadn't time to process most things, but the moment that Leanor put his hand on Rhaeneyra's back. It hit her, her father was dying and Alicent was about to go into labor.
"Ok, ok. Ali. Some maesterers, stay right here and attend to the queen, in case she goes into premature labor. Ali, Leanor will stay with you here, I'll go check on my father. Everything will be fine. Okay?" Rhaenyra said while she stood up with her sleeping ropes and a masterer passed her a black cape to cover herself more. Before leaving she kissed Alicent on the cheek, who was in tears and Leanor hugged her, to make her feel calm.
"Okay. Come on Alicent, let's get you comfortable." Leanor said with a reassuring face. While moving some pillows and making Alicent stay still who was still playing with her belly, she hadn't felt the baby in the last 15 minutes.
Rhaeneyra couldn't for the life of her come up with the right words to leave, so she didn't say anything the kiss and the hug were the best could do, but when she was walking down the hallway it hit her, her father was dying...
When they got to the king's chambers, it was the king being attended by a maesterer trying to give him poppy milk and the old man moving his free hand and shaking his head.
"Father..." Rhaenyra said now rushing beside him and laying just beside him.
"Aemma?" Viserys said while Rhaeneyera just sighed, her father was seeing his mother in her, and that made her freeze, ok back to it, Viserys was caressing her thumbs with a smile, what was the harm of going as she was her mother to make a dying man happy.
"Hello, my love. You have to drink your poppy milk, can you do that for me?" Rhaenyra said going with it, she had to do this, she wasn't ready to be a queen.
"No. I... I... My love..." Viserys said for what looked like a moment of lucidity and got back to losing his focus.
"Don't, come on drink the bloody poppy milk and get some rest, fat... My love." Rhaenyra said holding her tears, her father just breathed heavily as if he was trying to say something, but the words didn't come.
"I wanna reunite with you, dear. I messed up... Alicent's kids... And Neyra" Viserys said in shaky breaths while Rhaenyra just sighed, it was now a fact, her father was leaving them.
"Ok, my love. I'll take care of everything." Rhaenyra said with a sigh, thinking about her brothers and sister, shit.
"Thanks, Rhaenyra. I love you." Viserys said now having a lucid moment seeing his young daughter crying, and with that Viserys took one big last breath, and it all ended, and the life of those eyes slowly disappeared.
Alicent & Leanor.
Leanor was doing his best by accommodating the queen's mother, who now was silent, it was better to keep her talking.
"So your grace what name do you have for the babe?" Leanor said while the maesterers were getting ready for hard labor.
"If it's a boy... Daeron... And if it's a girl Visenya..." Alicent said panting while she got ready.
"Beautiful names indeed." Leanor said sitting beside her and holding her hand, it was the only thing he could do.
"Thank you. Kids are easier than you think..." Alicent said with a weak smile, she felt and knew that she was fading so there wasn't any point in hating anymore.
"That's easy for you. You're an incredible mother... Rhaenyra says it all the time." Leanor said while Alicent was holding his hand and tearing up, she felt the hurt.
"Really? Kids are hard...Mine especially." Alicent said letting out a soft chuckle while the maesteres opened her legs and Leanor just smiled at her.
"Really? You're scaring me a bit, to be honest with you." Leanor said with a whisper, while the maesterers did their best to prepare it, and offered Alicent a beverage so she would feel less pain.
"I'm not... So listen... Aegon likes to hide in the dragon pit and falls asleep beside Sunfyre... Helaena comunicates dif.. And Aemond sing.. sing to him." Alicent said trying her best to give her advice to Leanor who was carefully listening.
"Alicent. Don't. You'll make it. I can't let you go." Leanor said with a sad smile and Alicent just laughed, then the door opened and they both saw Rhaeneyra, pale and knew what must have happened, Leanor gave her a sweet kiss on top of her head and Alicent whispered something for only them to hear.
When Rhaeneyera sat beside her, Leanor stepped behind, and asked if he could help the maesterers in any kind of way, he needed to feel useful.
"Hi..." Rhaenyra tried to say to her old best friend and stepmother, that her father was dead.
"No. Don't. Please, lie..." Alicent begged while she started to push for the baby to come out, but the baby didn't.
"Okay... The King can't wait for the baby to be born. He drank his poppy milk and is peacefully sleeping now." Rhaenyera said with a sad smile, now seeing the maesterers discussing something.
"Yeah... Good. Please don't leave me while I die..." Alicent said now between sobs, while the maesterers were not informing Leanor about the labor.
"You're not going anywhere, Ali. Ok? Stop it, please.." Rhaenyera said now crying, while Leanor raised his voice.
"You have to save them both!" Leanor said with a growl to the poor maesterers, who couldn't do that, they all knew that Ali wasn't making it tonight.
"Leanor... The kids, bring them here..." Alicent said with a smile, trying to comfort the two others.
"Okay..." Leanor said with a sigh and went to get the kids, following the Queen's requests, and quickly left, not knowing how much time they had before Alicent left.
"Promise me, you won't leave them. You'll take care of my babies..." Alicent said with tears, while Rhaenyra nodded. The masterers were about to open her up, but Neyra stopped them, Alicent wanted to see her kids before, so that was what going to happen.
Leanor got back with Aemond in his arms sweetly sleeping, he was just a babe. Aegon was hidden behind Leanor robes and Helaena rushed beside the bed.
"Hello, my sweetling." Alicent said while Helaena looked at her confused she just passed her third birth name, she shouldn't see that.
"Hi..." Helaena answered with a little voice while looking around. Rhaenyra just gave her a big smile.
"Mommy is going to have your baby brother. Take care of him okay? Be strong my little bug." Alicent said carefully touching the little girl's hair who was yawning now, it was late.
"Okay." Helaena said with a big smile while she tried her best for her eyes to not close, she was sleepy. Alicent just nodded and Rhaenyra picked Helaena in her arms, who rested her little head on Neyra's neck and fell asleep.
"My boys..." Alicent tried to say feeling the baby kicking and realizing she didn't have much time. Leanor approached with both boys, Aegon looking at the floor and Aemond sleeping. Rhaenyra was behind her husband caressing the little girl's hair who slept in her arms.
"Aegon, look at me, please... Sit here, my child." Alicent said giving a careful tap on the bed where Rhaenyra with her free hand offered her hand to her brother and Aegon sat, while Leanor carefully put Aemond in Alicent's arms.
"I'm so proud of you, Aegon. You have to promise me, you'll take care of your siblings. Okay?" Alicent said while she took deep breaths, while the little boy looked at her and just cried.
"Ok, come on. Kids. Let's get you back to bed." Leanor said sensing the distress on the kids and taking Helaena from Rhaeneyra's arms, who just started kicking making it clear she wanted to be with Neyra.
"If things would have been different..." Alicent said locking eyes with Rhaenyra, they both knew what she meant, and she carefully gave her a sweet kiss on the cheeks.
"Now go. Get my child out of me. Save him." Alicent said crying while they took Rhaenyra and Helaena from the room. Rhaeneyra sat outside with the girl in her arms, while she brushed her hair with her hands. Harwin found her and sat with her, he was informed by Leanor, sensing that he would be the best comfort.
" Dear, give me the girl, this can't be good for the babe." Harwin said while now he passed a deep sleeping Helaena on Harwin and she started to cry while holding her tummy and hearing her baby kick.
After that, a few maesterers informed her, and it all went blank she passed out.
