After sacrificing himself to save Apollo, Meg, and Piper from Caligula, Jason is transported to Ancient Greece, in an alternate universe where demigods are extremely rare due to the sheer difficulty of a successful demigod pregnancy.
The exact location and time period he's been transported to? Smack in the middle of The Odyssey on Odysseus' ship, right before the crew lands on Helios' island. And when Zeus arrives to cast judgement, he comes face-to-face with a demigod, young and mortal and inexplicably, undeniably his.
Jason thinks that Zeus couldn't care less about him.
Unfortunately for him, he's about to be proven very, very wrong.

Amyclas didn't know what to make of this encounter. He had witnessed signs from the gods, but never had one of them appeared to him so directly and even more so demanding to speak. He summoned all the strength he possessed to speak to Him.
“What do you need from me, my lord?” Amyclas asked. “I… I'm sorry if I seem surprised, a god has never appeared to me before.”Apollo smiled at the king's words, as if remembering something tenderly.
“It is about your son, Hyacinth, the most beautiful among all mortals.”
Of course it was something about him. Amyclas felt his chest tighten at what he thought was going to happen. It's time Amyclas thought.
He will want to take it away from me, so that I keep it for himself as long as I can. Why did it take so long? And why him in particular?“As a parent, what do you think?”
“That I… What?” Amyclas asked, incredulous. Those were not the words he expected from Apollo.
