Work Text:
Izuku never took for granted the chances that life gave him. From the start he has been the type that takes them before they could slide away. He's convinced those brief moments of luck are what helped him get to the place he is now. Since he realized this, he has never let one go amiss again.
When All Might said he wanted to transfer him his power Izuku didn't understand a thing but said yes without thinking twice, when Kacchan offered to help him train OFA Izuku said yes without thinking twice and when Uraraka asked if he wanted to go on a date with her, again, he said yes without thinking it twice.
Actually, he probably should’ve thought the last one through since he knew his feelings for a certain blond weren’t going anywhere but it was for the best. He didn't stand a chance with him and he deserved to be happy with someone else. At first it was working out pretty well for him. Ochaco was strong, compassionate, super nice and her hairstyle suited her really nicely. He certainly didn’t feel the “butterflies” but it could work out, they could be happy together, or at least that's what he thought until he kicked his own plans to the trash.
When Denki told Class 3-A if they wanted to play spin the bottle at their graduation party Izuku didn't blink or gulp before he squeaked an "okay!"
How could he refuse? It’d be the only and last chance he would ever have to kiss his long time friend.
Everyone in class A knew Denki and Jirou were going on dates for months but they've never kissed. Denki whined about it all the time, so the chances of him organizing all of it just to kiss her, downsides and everything, were quite high. Literally the dumbest plan ever, she goes on dates with him! Izuku thought, but well, it was never an easy task to understand how Kaminari’s mind works. At least Jirou seemed to be really chill with it.
Uraraka also agreed to play when she found out most of the class was playing. She didn’t mind. Izuku would finally have closure about his feelings for Kacchan and she would never know.
The fact that she joined did took a little weight out of him but Izuku felt bad anyways. He just wanted to say goodbye to his feelings but it felt like cheating, even thought they weren't oficially dating and she didn't even oppose or got mad, he knew the feelings he carried implicated something more. While for her it was just a silly game with friends, it was so much more for him. He voluntarily stopped his train of his guilty thoughts and wiped the self imposed blame away. She would never know.
Quickly everyone gathered in the backyard where the adults wouldn't see them and sat on the grass conforming a circle where they "randomly" placed themselves. Denki was obviously pairing himself to Jirou, Kirishima to Mina, Ojirou to Hagakure and so on. Izuku held a laugh. After he finished criticizing Kaminari’s reasoning and love life, unaware of his own hypocrisy, he took note of Kacchan's placement and without an ounce of shame, chose the place for himself.
Kacchan... How did he agreed to it? How did Denki convince him or anyone else? Izuku wouldn't take the credit away from him, sometimes he was really sly.
"Can we play truth or dare first?!" Mina chirped in.
People hummed and nodded in approval. When everyone was ready she spun the bottle. It landed on Ochaco.
"Yayy!! Truth or dare, 'Chako?"
"Dare. I've learned my lesson with you. '' She replied looking at Mina straight in the eyes. A tiny shadow of pink washing her cheeks. Mina chuckled.
"Okayy! Mm! Make me float, Ochako-chan!"
Ochaco did as told and Mina was clearly pleased when she returned to her place.
Next to spin the bottle was Tsu, who was sitting right next to Mina. The bottle landed on Yaoyorozu. "Truth or dare, Momo-chan?" She asked.
"Truth, please."
"Did you ever try to make money with your quirk?"
She nodded. "When I was a child. My parents reprimanded me and I never tried again."
"We knew it!!" Everyone laughed.
Next person to spin the bottle was Hagakure. Kacchan scrunched his face when it pointed at him.
"Truth or dare, Bakugou-kun?"
"Truth."
"Mm... Let me think...Who do you want to kiss tonight?!" She asked excited to hear the answer.
There wasn't even a blush or any expression on Kacchan's face when he replied. "Nobody."
Izuku's heart slowly sank in his chest. There were no body language signals whatsoever that indicated Kacchan could be lying.
Of course, in what world would he say "I want to kiss Izuku" or something like that? Izuku reprimanded himself in the privacy of his own mind.
"C'mon there should be someone!" She insisted.
"I said nobody." Hagakure sighed.
Bakugou crossed his arms and paid no mind to the grumpy faces aimed towards him.
Next round Jirou spun the bottle.
"Truth or dare, Midoriya?"
"Truth!" He smiled at her.
"Same question as Bakugou, who do you want to kiss tonight?" Izuku gulped.
"Nobody." He replied with his best fake smile. He could never admit how Kacchan made him feel.
"You're supposed to tell the truth." Jirou looked at him dead serious.
"Nobody, I swear!" He replied again.
"Where are the drinks? If you lie, you drink. Actually give one to Bakugou too. I don't believe him." She looked at them pissed.
"I swear I'm not lying but I'll drink if you don't believe me!" He drank the shot Mina handed him and saw out of the corner of his eye when Denki pushed the drink into Kacchan's hand. Kacchan rolled his eyes and drank.
As they played and drank the night went on comfortably.
Under the effects of the alcohol, Izuku let his guard fall down. He wasn't really aware how much looks he was giving Katsuki’s way until he felt himself burn up in fire when the other caught him looking. Kacchan didn't look away for a long time and Izuku felt himself buzzing because of the intensity.
He really tried to stop looking at him after that but his gaze always found his way back to Kacchan, because for Izuku he was always the most interesting person in the room. He found himself struggling not to melt under the crimson when Kacchan returned every single look.
After at least fifteen questions Izuku realized Ochaco was really quiet. That was weird. What could she-.
Oh.
Oh.
He messed up. She wasn't even looking his way.
He was so concentrated thinking about Kacchan he didn't say her name when Jirou asked who he wanted to kiss.
He fucked up big time. He would have to talk to her later.

After they were bored of asking questions and were drunk enough, spin the bottle-kiss version started.
First round. Denki/Todoroki.
Shoto went all in. One hand on Kaminari’s hair and the other on his neck, open lips and the flash of a tongue. The girls shrieked on their places and the boys cheered till the last second. Denki was astounded.
"You went all out!!" Kirishima told an indifferent Shoto when he went back to his place. Curious bicolored eyes looked at him.
"It's a kiss game, I kissed him."
“Yeah, that’s right man.”
“Good job, Shoto-kun!”
“Thanks.”
Second round. Mina/Denki.
When Denki was chosen by the bottle for a second time, he tasted the sweet and careful lips of his friend. It was so peaceful compared to Todoroki’s passionate kiss it was amusing. Denki couldn’t hold his laugh and mid kiss teeths clashed, lips were bitten and the brief lovers shrieked in pain.
Third round. Hagakure/Kacchan.
At least I'm not going to see Kacchan kissing her , Izuku mumbled. Someone laughed at his side. Izuku covered his mouth with his hands. Sero was grinning at him.
Kacchan got up and marched to the center where Toru was waiting for him. She had her back to Izuku and Katsuki in front of her. Izuku had an amazing front view of Kacchan but he still leaned in to watch him better. He grabbed her neck... probably? And before kissing her Katsuki stopped and looked at Izuku straight in the eyes, again.
Izukusbrain.exe stopped working.
Fourth round. Denki/Kacchan.
“Again?!” they spoke in unison. Izuku’s pitched voice was clearly the loudest.
"I'm getting all the kisses minus yours!!" Denki pouted at Jirou with his swollen lip from his last kiss.
"Get it done, chargebolt." She gave him two thumbs up and tried to hold her laugh in but failed.
"Man... and this could be my last night alive." Denki huffed as he and Bakugou approached the center again.
"You bite me and I'm sendin' your ass to hell." Bakugou pulled him in by his shirt’s neck and Denki shivered.
"Have mercy on him, Great Explosion Murder God Dynamight!" Izuku teased.
"Shut up, nerd!"
After they were done, Kaminari looked over Bakugou’s shoulder at Jirou. "Don't I deserve a little kiss?" She smiled.
"Later." Suddenly everyone felt a slight electric shock.
"GONNA F#**#$& KILL YOU"
Izuku rolled on the floor laughing at Katsuki's fried hair.
Fifth round. Shoto/Izuku.
When the bottle pointed at them Izuku and Shoto’s eyes met and they both knew how deep their love for each other was. Izuku deeply appreciated his friend and he knew Shoto felt the same. He smiled before kissing the man with care.
When they pulled away Izuku found Kacchan's gaze watching him and only him.
The night passed by. After it got repetitive they decided it was enough.
It wasn't enough for Izuku thought. He insisted to keep going and going at the verge of secreto tesrs but there wasn't anything left to do when the game ended and his heart broke.
The bottle never pointed at him and Kacchan.

Everyone got up and went to hang out in little groups. Izuku hurried to Ochaco but when she saw him heading towards her she rushed inside the salon. He followed her but when he didn’t find her anywhere he sighed and went to Kacchan. The man was sitting on top of a one-meter-tall wall by himself, obviously drunk if how he slurred “nerd” and invited him with open arms for a hug were an indicator. Izuku approached him carefully and hugged him from the waist. Kacchan closed his legs around his torso.
"Missed you." Izuku said.
"I could tell." He chuckled.
Izuku playfully pushed him without breaking away completely from the hug. Katsuki smiled and pulled him into the crook of his neck. Izuku snuggled closer to him.
“Missed you too, Izuku." Kacchan exhaled a hot, damp sigh in his ear and Izuku tried to control his goosebumps.
Minutes went by in comfortable silence with no one pulling away. Tightly embraced by Kacchan he felt the happiest man alive. Izuku thought he could learn to love him like this, never as close as he wanted but close enough. The simple thought of it eased his heart, made it ache a little less. Yes. This is enough.
"I wanted to kiss you there." Kacchan mumbled really low.
Izuku’s entire train of thought stopped abruptly and his body toughened in place.
What?
Katsuki started to slowly caress his back up and down.
"One day the thought of us just popped into my head, and then it never left me again." His voice was so soft Izuku could barely hear him. "For the longest time, your stupid hand stretched out to me played non stop in my head.” Izuku was frozen in place, hearing, processing. “Your damn voice calls out to me on my dreams since we were five and I know you and Round Cheeks are goin’ out and...I-. I’ll just wait for the break up." He spoke a little louder, more confident, but didn’t show his face to Izuku.
"You don't have to wait, Kacchan."
His once-in-a-lifetime opportunity was there. If he had to talk to Uraraka before or after it didn’t matter.
If it's you who I chased all my life, If it's you... who shines so bright it blinds me …
You’re the only one for me.
Kacchan cupped Izuku's face and scanned his eyes. All that was hidden behind his always cautious eyes was exposed for Izuku to see, and showing him his bare soul, Kacchan looked stronger than ever.
“I’ll wait for the break up.”
And also more stupid. Izuku wanted to punch him in the mouth and kiss him after but didn’t entertain that thought for long. His body was trembling for a kiss. He looked at Kacchan's lips.
“We don’t have to wait.” He repeated, his big green eyes pleading unknowingly.
I need you.
"Izuku."
Please, kiss me.
“You sure?”
Kiss me, Kacchan.
“Yes, Kacchan."
Kiss me.
Katsuki closed his eyes and took Izuku’s lower lips between his.
Immediately every other kiss was erased from his head.
Kacchan's lips weren't as soft or big as the other people Izuku kissed that night but he was delighted like never before. He was enthralled by how Katsuki's pointy hair tickled his face and how sharp his jaw felt under his touch.
Kacchan’s hold on his hair was rough and messy and his stubble hurted a little but that made it the more enticing to Izuku. He liked how demanding, rude and needy but filled with confidence it was. It melted his brain from how much it tasted like Kacchan.
From the window of the little room Ochaco was hiding in she watched them with fresh tears sliding down her cheeks.
She knew. She saw from the start how Deku's eyes shined the brightest for Bakugou. Her heart ached with the pain of the end of her first love. As she watched Izuku melt in other man's arms she couldn’t allow herself to blame him or hate him. She understood how similar both of them were, lost in love. She touched her own lips and smiled as she cried. She would also had cheated on anyone if it meant she could kiss Izuku one time, because he never kissed her. With her feelings shattered she stood up and understood that now she was finally free of their not reciprocate love.
She was finally ready to let him go, exactly as her younger self always wanted to do.
When Izuku tried to pull away to breath, Kacchan didn't let him so he decided not to try again. He was actively suffocating when Shoto popped out of nowhere.
"I thought you two didn't want to kiss anyone."
A stiff-like-a-statue Shoto was just next to them. Izuku gasped and struggled between a giggle and taking breaths. Kacchan side-eyed half-and-half and pulled Izuku for another kiss, grinning. Izuku didn't fight it.
"I KNEW IT, KACCHAAN! '' Denki came running from the other side of the yard dragging Jirou with him.
"Nobody, nobody!.” Jirou mimicked both of them.
“They swore they- they didn’t want anyone!” Denki was laughing his ass off.
"Liars." Shoto added his two cents.
Kacchan laughed amid the kiss and pulled away shortly.
"Yeah, yeah, you were right, extras. We lied. Now, goo! ." Katsuki said, catching his own breath but Izuku’s lips were on his again.
People kept approaching them. They heard the gasps and heard them talking but didn't care enough to see who they were or what they were saying. Everyone decided to allow them their needed privacy when they realized how fully compromised they were to each other’s mouths.
Luckily, they were finally completely alone when Izuku incorporated and realized how painfully wet his boxers were. He would’ve been ashamed to death hadn't he felt Kacchan's hardness against him.
